Maybe, but if YOU go by history, then Ireland will never win the World Cup. New Zealand won the inaugural tournament, so the 'crumble' theory is just a fable & a figment of imagination. And besides, the Tri Nations Series is tougher to win than the World Cup. If you beat South Africa & Australia consistently, as New Zealand have done numerous times, then you pretty much own the world. But Ireland will be given respect.

basically most years the tri nations is the easier thing to call ever... beating australia at home and away that year and south africa the only time they played them, would be roughly equivalent by your logic to going through the tri nations undefeated
