Sometimes you will also get a boost in performance, especially when overclocked, because some companies release cards that are pre-overclocked. I hope I could help you out! ;)

I couldnt help but notice it looks as if the cpu was on power saving mode during the integer test. it says the cpu speed is at 1.4ghz which is the powersave mode speed. maybe thats the reason for the low performance you were getting.

Wow I just noticed your setup. I have a Gigabyte GA990FXA-UD5... I almost bought the UD3 but I wanted more RAID options for my hard drives. The UD5 has two SATA ports that use a Marvell chipset, which I heard performs better than the AMD southbridge chipset.

I have to say, this is the ONLY bulldozer CPU that I am NOT disappointed with. The performance of this CPU is great for the price. I mean, it's only a $129.00 CPU. I would have bought this CPU for my new AM3+ motherboard but I already have a Phenom II 980... which performs a lot better. : )

@sukiluv71 Unfortunately I can't do that, since I don't have this CPU anymore. But I can tell you what I've heard from other people that overclocked Bulldozer chips. They told me you get a serious performance boost, but even higher is the power consumption when overclocked.

i bought this cpu last week.. I'M IN LOVE (? haha it has an amazing performance on COD: Black Ops

i ran this+8gb DDR3 + gt 9500 @512mb and reached the Extra graphics quality (witout AA and ansiothropic..) i got (i think) an average of 40fps on story mode...still..i'm about to get myself a GTS450 so... i have no idea how powerfull this processor is (yet) haha

@CSXtreamGamer I'd recommend the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard. But of course there are cheaper ones, but this one performs very very nicely and has tons of features. For the RAM, prices are really low right now. Just grab a value memory kit if you want it cheap or get a DDR3-1600 kit.

This is actually sadning, that amd release somthing like this and doesn't seem like any of a upgrade from their phenom II's, mean even intels i3-2100 is about even and the i3 smokes the fx on single threaded app's and thats about it. Hopefully this hotfix with windows i hear will clear some things up or amd release a new set that will work better, but hey its new stuff and with anything new, you have flaws

Although let me add I tend to sacrifice some Aliasing it plays the games, and it plays em real good.

As amazing as a x6 Hexacore is; keep in mind games do not fully utilize six-cores; your game will mostly be running on the first two-cores; If your someone like me who stays at stock Ghz speeds; ask yourself this. 2.8Ghz or 3.6ghz with this amazing new bulldozer feature; the first generation of its kind that ups it potentially to 3.8ghz; Look up a few benchmarks yourself check out the speed.

The FX-4100 is an interesting new type of processor with a speed of 3.6Ghz; It adjusts itself to use more or less power to execute certain tasks. Or so it should. The problem is, it doesn't seem that the software really understands that. I believe the FX-4100 12-MB cache is insanely good for its price; I'm running BF3/Resident Evil 5/GTA Benchmarks 100FPS+ Also Giga released a BIOS update; which includes the new AMD AGESA instructions set and it fixes, and gives a nice little performance boost.

@grantyboyva Then go for the 1055T or 965 CPU, but make sure you get a motherboard with the 890FX or 990FX chipset. I'd recommend 990FX. This is totally depending on the game which one of these two processors will perform in games. In most cases the 1055T would win. The FX-4100 has lots of cache, but it doesn't make much use of it, since the whole architecture is pretty bad compared to AMD's previous one on the Phenom II CPUs. Everyone should think about saving the planet.We all live on it.
