Trying to get Joe Satriani's Sound! ("Ten Words" cover with improvisation)

Hey great video. Very nice job recreating the legendary sound of the great Joe Satriani. Not too shabby. If you don't mind I'd like to give you some pointers on achieve the perfect sound, having been a professional Sound Technician for many years. Try dialing down the distortion/drive a tiny bit, and add a sustain effect to make the strings more sensitive to the touch. This will help give you a more softly distorted sound while at the same time being sensitive to the touch for legato techniques.

@chevens nothing to do with the guitar buddy, its all guitar rig 3. buy a 1000 or if u can afford then a 1200, i bought a 1200 and it sounds pretty lush with the jsx amp :D

It is extremely similar and well tuned... you might just need some more delay or maybe a little more chorus to give it deepness... I am now using guitar rig 4 pro which I bought last week and personally, besides the sound improvement and all the new stuff... the soft keeps getting heavier so we might need a hardware upgrade to run guitar rig 4 smoothly... The worst change the have made is the way you assign controls to the expression pedal... this part was way much better on guitar rig 3... pity

I like the sound of you improv, but i prefer satch's version from super colossal just because i can play it. You pretty much nailed the tone, i can get close in a way with my fender amp and my rg 120

revalver mk3 has much more realistic distorsion check it out...anyway the input its very important...and your guitar its soo good thats why everything sounds good

well ive tryied it...nothing special revalver standard patchs sucks too...you have to mod a lot of parameters and add custom impulse cabinets...in the long way its the better on the market...
