When I think back... the shins only really made one amazing album... oh inverted world. The follow up was ok... but their music has continued to evolve into something bigger and more complex... but it doesnt have the melodic hooks of earlier stuff like caring is creepy, girl inform me, know your onion.

I have loved the shins for years, never read up on them so I don't gauge them as 'pop musicians' or anything else; I just think they're excellent lyricists with a great frontman.
