  • hilarious! this commercial blew my mind instantly when I first saw it.

  • Just saw this commercial and wanted to find its meaning here. I think that it's a MISS because it doesn't really make sense. The supposedly 'clueless' couple shows that they *do* have good taste but are NOT affected by the potential snob appeal of knowledge of the artist beforehand. Sure, the other couple has good taste as well and recognizes the artist, but the commercial doesn't convey its intended message clearly at all.

  • I think this commercial goes with the same idea as the Audi baseball commercial. "True greatness should never go unrecognized." The Vermeer paintings are not "true" greatness but the A8 is.

  • @chairmaniraq What they're trying to say is that idiots like the homeowner here don't have taste, which is why he called the Audi A8 "pretty cool". Where as Audi owners are sophisticated and educated and have great taste in art, and of course, cars.

  • @chairmaniraq So they're trying to isolate themselves from makers such as BMW or Mercedes... just like the "New Luxury vs. Old Luxury" commercials they used to run a couple years back?

  • @AudiofAmerica @freedomarms2 Unfortunately, the Audi commercial fails to put us in line with the right point of view. We are focused on the "idiot" couple because they are being complimented. We want to see how they will react. Because their reaction is so strange, we don't know who we're supposed to follow. If the advertisement had ended with the "sophisticated" perspective of the Audi owners, we would be able to reorient ourselves with whatever message we're supposed to gain from the ad.
