  • But... this is America?

  • That creepy moment when she says "These books are no longer available"

  • It seems dystopian, but it'll be worth it if it means eradicating Twilight.

  • oh my god,he was looking for a copy of "The Zionist takeover of America" dont ever request that book!,your labeled an anti-Semitic terrorist and sent to a military camp for indefinite detention..

  • who thinks up this crap for an add was it april fools day? your lucky to get books out?? freedom = getting books out. ???

  • @zelotalot Yes, freedom is getting books out. Censorship is not freedom. What if you went to the grocery store to buy your latest issue of "I Love Justin Bieber" magazine and they told you you couldn't have it?

  • Obama = Bush's 3rd term. For REAL change, and too keep these video from getting any more real, vote Ron Paul for President 2012.

  • the very people who are claiming to protect our freedoms are the ones who are most likely to restrict them.

  • FUCK THE PATRIOT ACT

    FUCK BUSH

    FUCK OBAMA

    FUCK FEMA

    FUCK DHS

    FUCK YOU DOLPHIN

    AND FUCK YOU WHALE

  • @meushubris FRUCK YOU WHARRRRRWL

  • That last part about protecting...we are failing at the moment if some of you did not realize.

  • Thanks for this Bush. And Obama. Can't really tell the difference between the two, except that half the country hates one and half hates the other.

  • Land of the free, home of the brave? Yeah right. America is now a joke.

  • @calicormi LOL. OMFG! I hope t god you're serious. I really wish there were people in the world like you. You're just the best.

  • @calicormi it does take away privacy, and isn't the right to privacy a pretty major freedom?

  • This so feels like I'm a fugitive from the series Prison Break.

  • Come to Canada suckers!

  • Wait... someone tell me, what books would cause that reaction today in mid-2011? Has anybody actually experienced this? What book were they trying to borrow?

  • MERICA fuck yeah!

  • @calicormi The nice thing about this whole scenario; In the end it is about sink or swim on your own strength. The low-life hippies, the useless "progressive thinkers," and commie "intellectuals" will be killed and eaten by the barbarians within 9 months of the collapse of civilization, once food stores run out.

Only the non-tofu types will have a chance at enjoying a protected existence. This includes all the different people that libtards say are stupid, useless members of society. Tolerance

  • Absolutely REAL IN 2011.

If I told you how I know, then someone else would have to come and threaten you.

  • Did anything remotely like this actually happen to any real person? Because the air stinks like straw, man.

  • wow at first i thought this was clearly made to warn people about the patriot act, what else could they be talking about with this video?

  • Absolutely took the words right out of my mouth. "And then they passed the patriot act, and it became real."

  • Too many zombie Americans ignore what is going on around them. The Romans called it bread and circuses. I call it corn syrup and FOX news for this day and age.

  • lol. Is this commercial a threat? "Do what we say, or you get this." Ironic. When was this filmed, I wonder?

  • And the simple insanity is... we have been forced to Give Up all of these rights to fight Terrorism - a tactic, not a group of people.. Who in ALL US History have killed almost 3,500 US citizens on US soil.

But at the Same Time, are told we should be more sympathetic - and offer Amnesty to the illegal immigrants who were responsible for killing over 5,000 US citizens on US soil in 2011 ALONE!

Somehow, "Lack of Perspective" doesn't begin to express how insane this is.

  • i'm from europe and i didn't get this ad.. can someone please explain me since i'm confused o_O

    appreciate.

  • @calicormi What you are saying makes no sense. Get our collective dicks out of your mouth and try saying something that your political party hasn't scripted for you mindless idiots.

  • He was trying to get a Harry Potter book

  • @calicormi Amazing troll

  • I think this was my high school library. I'm not making a joke, this is like literarly my high school library.

  • the next world war is going to be US vs rest of the world.

  • I woulda smoked that librarian in her fat old head.

  • @calicormi I voted for Obama, and I'm active duty military. What the fuck have you done to be of use to your country lately?

  • @m0tbaillie What the fuck does voting for Obama or being active duty military have to do with being a use to your country these days?

  • @glock21guy Give me a jingle when you've got a deployment or two under your belt and you might understand. My point was that it's ignorant to talk about "liberals destroying America" when there are plenty of "liberals" doing more for this country than most people ever will. In fact, some of the most staunch, die-hard republicans I know are useless shit-talkers who have never given anything to their country and never served - kinda like you.

  • @m0tbaillie Proving once again that you're a dumbass. Keep assuming to know it all. That'll get you far.

  • and all the democrats too Saulmeyersz. This goes to everyone wake the fuck up. Republicans Democrats they play for the same management.

  • Hm, I'd sure like to click "like", but who knows who might show up at my doorstep then...

  • and all the republicans jizz their pants with joy when they saw this

  • we are headed in this direction more so than before 911

  • @jeffey0217 Aye, if you see anyone watching videos about Obama being useless, be sure to report them to flag@whitehouse.gov

  • The government is your enemy. Flee the country.

  • It was only a matter of time before Harry Potter was banned. Curse you Voldemort.

  • WTF IS THIS???? this is like if we let George Bush be prez for 8 years and we let the world eat itself through its own asshole......wait

  • freedom makes you lazy ^^

  • how ironic

  • ralph pls go

  • @kaushiksays I see something very wrong with you working for the police.

  • @kaushiksays Please leave.

  • @kaushiksays kill yourself

  • @kaushiksays because you have been brain washed and lost your reasoning. you are a nothing a hollow vessel for the IMC. do not attempt to justify these horrendous actions.

  • @kaushiksays You see nothing wrong with having books taken out of publication because your government doesn't like it, and then having someone arrested because they want said books that the government doesn't condone? And you work for the states, those who have the saying "Land of the FREE, home of the brave"? You're fucking pathetic.

  • @kaushiksays didnt you take an oath to uphold the constitution? The scenario depicted in the video is exactly what the first amendment is meant to protect against. If you believe that violation of the constitution is ok if its in the name of "security", ask yourself, what are you protecting? If youre not protecting freedom, what are you protecting?

  • @WiiGeee The first ammendment wouldn't apply in this situation, regardless of the fact that it can't be used in legal rulings anyways. If a library doesn't want to sell certain books, it doesn't have to. If you buy books on how to make a bomb, I think the library should contact police. All the constitution says is that the federal government cannot monopolize that decision, and that it should be made by competing businesses.

  • @guyjohn59 Why would they even have a how-to guide on creating a bomb in a library if it's just going to be used as a trap?

  • @Sonoskeakigawa .....for scientists. Then they discovered that the books could be used to make a bomb, so the library didn't want to be liable so they removed them from their shelves. Then a perosn walks in who clearly isn't a scientist asking about these books, and the librarian calls the police. Works for me.

  • @guyjohn59 yes, the library can decide not to lend a book, however the situation depicted was not of someone asking for books they dont have, it was someone asking for books that were banned (i know it didnt say that, but that is clearly what was implied), and then being questioned and or arrested by undercover cops. The entire depiction is of a violation of the free press. If you buy/check out The Anarchist Cookbook the police may be contacted, but they cannot go as far as they did in the video

  • @kaushiksays would that be...the SECRET police?

  • Pretty much Fahrenheit 451 status right there.

  • hey is that black dude from the Allstate insurance commercial?

  • If you see suspicious activity, please report it to your local Department of Homeland Security agent.

  • I got chills.

  • @Destructerator they're multiplying

  • In commemoration of the patriot act renewal. 4 more years....

  • I have never ever seen this commercial.

  • I heard that they're going to run this commercial again, except at the end it's going to say "This moment brought to you by the Patriot Act".

  • He should have row row fought the powah!

  • And then they passed the Patriot Act, and this became real.

  • @PerkiReport Sorry for being Narrow minded but Wasnt the patriot act meant to monitor for terrorist activity?

  • @fog340 Actually NO, the Patriot Act wasn't about Monitoring Terrorist Activity.

I wish people would read it.

It essentially Suspends all of the Individual Rights protected in the Bill of Rights, Most expressly the 4th Amendment and the 6th - as they can Search Anyone without a warrant under it, and can Detain anyone (including citizens) indefinitely without charging them with a crime, and thanks to Obama's associate Executive Order - even AFTER found Not Guilty by the courts.

  • @fog340 And places all State and City law enforcement under Federal Authority without oversight.

    In short...

If the Federal Agencies instruct your Local law enforcement that your block is to be locked down, they are required to lock it down, no travel in or out - without due process. And if they instruct them to then Set Fire to your homes (yes, it All Activities that they can Claim will fight terrorism, Regardless of method or legality, ARE allowed) they are required to do so.

    Death of Rights

  • @fog340 Part of the Patriot Act was the removal of animosity at library's. So if the Government think's you are up do no good they can go in and look at your library record and detain you if you are looking at the wrong stuff.

  • @PerkiReport Really, you worthless little nothing fuck? Show me just ONE example where this is occurring. Just one. Until l you do, everyone will know how worthless you are, and why your mother prays for your suicide before she goes to bed every night.

  • @knickknack07 I don't know of this happening, i just know it's there. Check Section 215 of the patriot act, which allows federal authorities conducting a counterterrorism investigation to seize someone’s library or business records unbeknownst to the individual and without a court order

  • Mira como grande yo es!

  • "You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world."

  • That'll teach him for checking out Twilight

  • Too bad the Food Industries libel laws have silenced free speech in regards to them. Sometimes the freedom we cherish is just an illusion.

  • The patriot act in action. Good thing we treasured our freedoms after 9/11.

  • He was trying to check out Huck Finn!

  • this commercial really confused me because I thought it was going to be an ACLU ad against the patriot act, which actually did open up your library records to the FBI, post 2003 libraries have to elect to delete all their records so that the feds can't access them (lucky the library still has the freedom to do this)

  • FK YEAH AMERRRICA BEST COUNTRY IN DA WORLD

  • This is what libraries are like IN CANADA!!

If you support SOCIALISTIC HEALTH CARE YOU SUPPORT SOCIALISTIC LIBRARIES!

    GET HIM!

  • @ShatteredNerves Uh no...socialists in Canada don't support having people arrested for checking out books.

Please tell me you meant that post as a joke.

  • @KennBurch The irony is that the AdCounsil is saying stay free while we take your money and make this expensive commercial. If you can't afford to go to the library and check out any books then isn't the same.

  • Lol...it's heading that way.

  • This commercial would have a very different feel to it if instead of a white man, it was a middle eastern man.

  • A Republican was President, so no one cared.

  • This still happens to me today. I guess i shouldn't be asking for "deep anal porn" at the library anyway.

  • Soon afterwards, the USAPATRIOT Act allowed just this kind of behavior from government agencies.

Any American citizen can now be declared an "enemy combatant" in a secret court with no access to legal protection and held indefinitely without anyone's knowledge.

That is the right that was given up for the illusion of safety. You no longer have a right to privacy and your home and vehicle are subject to secret search and seizure.

  • @unqueued You best be trolling

  • @unqueued Satire, I can only assume.

  • This is so fucking ironic. People are dumb.

  • and we get another 4 years of the patriot act! this will be a reality before we die

  • The irony.....it hurts.

  • @MAdk1p *Facepalm*

  • @MAdk1p You're an idiot. You do realise that there are far more socialistic countries around the world who have more 'freedoms' than you think America has?

  • @d245470k It's a give & take, In some aspects of their society, yes. Other, no.

  • @MAdk1p

haha good troll...surely it is right?

  • @MAdk1p Obama isn't a socialist...we don't have to repeal the healthcare bill to be free...and it never mattered that his middle name was "Hussein". A name is just a name.

Sarah Palin would support arresting people for reading the wrong books.

  • *looks at computer* *giant red X over a picture of green eggs and ham* Sir these books are no longer available... may I please have your name?.....

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @wamadeus Why do you say that?

  • Ironically, the book he was looking for was "1984."

  • Think for yourself, question authority.

  • "What's your name? "

    "Why?!"

"So I can get it on inter-loan for you."

And everything turned out better than expected.

  • The book he wanted. "Terrorism For Dummies"

  • @thetoaster2006 win.

  • Yeah, like this is happening, right? We now have both more security and freedom of speech than ever before! Do you mean the government will stop me from posting things on the in

  • HIS NAME IS ROBERT PAULSON!!!

  • Is that the library from Shawshank Redemption?

  • lawl

  • The book was child pornography. Nothing to see here folks, just one less child molester on the streets.

  • @FullMetalllll

    lol, tru

  • @FullMetalllll How do you know? Were you the last guy who checked it out?

  • so we gotta rat out people and be all big brotherish to protect freedom?

  • This commercial makes me wary of the government more than any other body

  • I always get this paranoid feeling when I buy Noam Chomsky books.

  • Knowledge is the enemy of the state

  • @spamtrap93 No, knowledgable citizens are a requirement of a functioning democracy. Knowledge is essential to the survival of the state. Keep your cliched anarchist catchphrases to yourself.

  • @IdiotForPalin democracy does not equate the state.

  • @IdiotForPalin Knowledge is indeed essential to the survival of a functioning democracy, but not essential to the survival of the state.

  • @DonAlonzo The ad was run in the US. I think it's fair to assume his comment was in reference to western democracies.

  • @spamtrap93 you maybe mean "of the system". what a wannabe revolutionary, you can't even tell the difference.

  • I.. wat.

  • fuck bush

  • @jax1492 Bush isn't even president. Are you insane? Or are you so programmed to believe Bush is responsible for Obama's and Congress' mismanagement of this country?

  • My teacher told us that's how terrorists act.

  • what the hell

  • Chicken and a cow?

  • i dont get it.

  • burn the flag

  • @eviscero That'd be murder, then your country would watch you fry in the electric chair or die from the inside out with lethal injection. Smart idea there, because what I'd be doing is a freedom of expression. Oddly enough, your country protects people for that. However, since your reaction is to murder me, you'd be the one in jail... And your whole country would celebrate the death of a 'monster' like you.

  • @LunchboxEater43 That is if I get caught. Its very easy to make it look like an accident, specially when you set yourself on fire shitting on the sacrifice made by people greater than yourself.

  • @eviscero Well considering you just admitted your plan on here, I'll just assume your IQ is somewhere around that of "Dubyah"... LOL

  • @LunchboxEater43 lol Obviously I jest. We all know liberalism is the ultimate suicide, and that's your right. Not fair to drag the rest of us with you though. Now, seeing as you likely voted for Obama thinking he'd be effective leader; that must put your IQ somewhere between concrete and snail shit.

  • @eviscero I don't see how I "dragged" anyone "down." If anything I'm utilizing a main right, which according to the viewpoints you've brought forth, would make me more of an American.... Also, I didn't vote for Obama, or whoever the hell else was running against him since I've got the benefit of knowing I'm not an American, nor do I live in that country, and nor do I ever even want to visit it.

  • @LunchboxEater43 FUCK YOU

  • @blazneg2007 Pfft, stfu faggot

  • @suckitallofyou Please learn to read and write.....please

  • @suckitallofyou lolwut

  • @suckitallofyou i dont understand!!!! i assume english isn't your first language though..

  • @animefreakpsp It's not, but I was bored and figured that at least someone was stupid enough to think I was serious.

  • Spooky!

  • and now we're arresting people for dancing in front of the jefferson memorial. what a joke it's all become.

  • Thats what you get for trying to read books.

  • As a God-fearing librarian and ex-Marine I wouldn't have needed the secret agents. I would have executed that traitor on the spot. HOOAH!! GOD BLESS AMERICA

  • @ruggeroization Of course. Every true librarian sees it as her or his sacred duty to keep people from checking out books.

  • wow so prophetic

  • Spoiler: the patriot act allows the government to check your library records

  • wow this looks like something that would happen under the PATRIOT ACT

irony is a bitter thing sometimes.

  • But we already have banned books so technically this commercial is true...

  • At least they still had libraries back then.

  • next think you know they will be forcing everyone who gets on a plane to be searched or scanned so their naked body can be checked for anything suspicious.

next thing you know they will be tapping phones and your email in order to protect 'security' and prevent 'terrorism'.

next thing you know they will be jailing people without charging them for a crime in secret jails and claim they are committing 'acts of war'.

  • libraries still exist?

  • wait doesnt this already happen?

  • Would never happen. The kid is too white.

  • "If you see something, say something."

  • he shouldve just told her his name...what did he have to hide?!

GOOD WORK LIBRARIAN!!!! KEEPING AMERICA SAFE!!!

  • @coughdrop30 because no one has ever been wrongly convicted of something they didn't do, right? Maybe being accused is almost as damaging as actually committing the crime.

  • @coughdrop30 im feeling really stupid right now but after thumbing up your comment i began to consider you might not be ironic..

  • @coughdrop30

Librarians don't actually do this in real life. They try to protect people and the free distribution of knowledge.

  • @coughdrop30 yeah i would have no problem giving the librarian my name lol..

  • @coughdrop30 fuck privacy eh ? freeedom
