@ninaistmeinefreundin-- how do you know that s/he doesn't already have a friend? just cuz they aren't showing it does not mean that it's an only bird and lovebirds are fine being a single bird so long as the owners pay attention to it. he's not even doing anything bad to his bird. you make it seem like he's abusing it or something. he's just putting a blankie over it.

The lovebird is a young bird hence the dark beak and the pale feathers. The beak lightens as it ages. Once the bird molts & loses its baby feathers the new adult feathers that emerge are quite colorful.

Also the bird isn't dead just very trusting of it's Mom (owner). Baby lovebirds are very sweet and easily tamed at this stage. They do become very attached so it's best to expose them to different family members & friends so they don't become overly attached to one person & are well socialized.
