  • Il pezzo più cool, più glam, attualissimo e meno scontato dei Duran Duran, il mio preferito... !

  • they dont make music like this today...fook the xfactor...

  • 3:07 to 3:28 is just yummy to listen to !

  • very influenced by Prince in my opinion. The Notorious record was of good quality but lacked of something. And too many low and mid tempo songs.

  • Lizard king sucks, DD rocks!

  • He can sing.

  • TAKE FIVE SHE's GOT PEARLS

    ...that's right...

  • I grew up in the 80s and i love everything about it.Nowadays it sucks with the clothes and the music that is coming out now.

  • Fuk ett Ets all Bout Duran Duran Fukk U Bitches Dat say dat Michael Jackson is better!!!

  • Que buenos duran duran.Que recuerdos joder...

  • great duran's......but respect for michael!!

  • strip tease!!!!

  • the best videos of the 80's were Duran Duran's! fuck Micheal Jackson's!

  • Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!! is true

  • freak and child molester Jackson's a totally overrated singer!

  • never realised at the time how much the duranies were borrowing from the wee prince chap, cool song for all that, still sounds great, the difference between them and other flavour of the 'time' bands is they simply wrote great songs, seemples

  • Esta cancion es tan sensual en la voz de Simon

  • Would someone please explaine???

  • The 80s was the time when pop and rock stars were the total package —the looks, the clothes, the attitude and most importantly, the talent. I am glad I got to grow up in that era. I am pretty open minded when it comes to music and still listen what is produced nowadays, but man, so far, there has been no time like the 80s.

  • @zackerus Agree completely. I was a teenager back in the 80s.

  • @zackerus

the 80's has just been voted the best decade EVER !!

and i couldnt agree more it had everything, the music, the style, the new mobile phones that looked like half a house and dont forget the rubic's cube

what more could a boy want ? the only thing wrong was that star wars started in 1977 and not 1980 now THAT would have been the total package for me !

  • im an 80's teenager fuck what everyone said 80's is poppin and I love Duran Duran

  • I'm a teenager now (16) and Duran Duran IS sooo poppin<3

It's awkward that I love the 80s because I feel like an outsider looking in. Somebody build me a Delorean and LET ME IN! haha

  • Lol that's great! Someone give this poor teenager a Frankie Say "Relax" T-shirt, some Colorific Mousse, and a copy of Smash Hits Magazine!!

Well I was a teenager when "Skin Trade" came out and I still love it! I mean what is to love now? Not much.........:)

  • I've got the Frankie shirt at least :)

Yeah, most songs today aren't really that high quality. I guess it's because bands like DD and INXS set the bar so high that they just can't reach it!

  • "In exploitation's name, we must be working for the skin trade !"

  • ♥ skin trade!! DD makes the best vids!!

  • I always love this song and video of theirs. I have a comment to all of you talking about 80's music. I'm from the 60's generation, which I will love forever, but I liked a lot of the 80's music and actually in 20 years, it has stood the test of time very well. Many of the bands from then are still kicking it today, like D2, PSB...

  • One of my favorite D2 songs! And just to add my input: A lot of people said D2 was a bubble gum group, because they attracted all the teenie boppers...if you look at it from a musician standpoint, they are ALL very good musicians. JT is a great bass player, Nick is phenomenal on the keyboards; Roger was a very good drummer; great songwriting...they didnt make it this far just because they were "in" in the 80s.

  • To "whiff1962" - nice try, but you don't know what you're talking about. If Duran Duran had lacked substance, they would not have lasted as long as they have with followers old and new. Your opinions are not facts.

  • I was happy in the 80s!!!!!..................

  • Fair enough!

  • i like the song, but hate that reverb in the snares.

  • This song reminds me of spring break 87' in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. College break was fun in the 80s. Mmmm ...

  • na merda rara

  • Duran Duran, see you guys this Saturday!!!!!!

  • Stylistically, the videos from Duran Duran-and most other MTV pop groups-went from bad to worse. The excuse of, "no experience", in the early years of the cable music station giant, was no longer the tenable excuse for the later eighties. A lot of the great bands of the early 80's either receeded(read:opted out of the glut of non-talents), or were absorbed into the multi-billion dollar recording industry's bottom line.

  • whiff 1962 - what the fuck do you know about anything- just shut the hell up with your stupid comments

  • Duran Duran hit it big not because of substatnce and depth, but because the group had a commercial savoir faire. Talk-talk, a group that did a lot of fronting for the former, was infinitely more talented, but, unfortunately, were not commercially exploitable on MTV, especially its later years. I am simply stating something that is true in the music industry, especially in the 1980s cosmetic era, where the look was at times much more important than the message.

  • Well if thought the music industry was bad back then, it's even worse now, because now it's all about the quick buck and even less substance. at least back then they had music that was much more diverse sounding. The bigger test is longevity and Duran Duran's music still holds up nicely even after all these years. Sadly the music industry isn't producing anything now with a long shelf life of say a year or two. You may call the 80's Cosmetic but I'd take that era over now anyday.

  • I didn't quite intend to be altogether perjorative when calling the 80's a cosmetic music era, as many groups were given great creative latitude to get the look they wanted for the MTV crowd. I totally agree with you, the 1980s was a really creative period of music, and the diversity of sounds was indeed rich. I just am not crazy about DD, and think they fizzled with the changes in MTv.

  • why dont you start? bozo.

  • go change your nail polish boy blue

  • hi poet boy-bozo biz schnitzel fool- you a pillow biter also

  • As a big fan, the problem with Duran duran is that their creativity is ahead of its time. This song would sell millions TODAY, however when it was released, it was barely recognized. The same with serious, and many more.

  • ABSOLUTELY agree

    :)

  • @lakechaney That is sooo true...

  • @lakechaney

this totally goes back to a comment I made re: "Electric Barbarella". And to go beyond the issue of being ahead of their time, I also think that a lot of Duranies become "stuck in a particular musical time" - I mean this with no disrespect - that gels with a time in their life. So when DD comes out with a new album with a new ,EVOLVED,sound, Duranies balk instead of embracing it for what it is: an amazing ability to morph and adapt while remaining true to their musical core.

  • @lakechaney There are some people who are genius and yet, they are way out of time. That's life...

  • There is a better video on this song. Beautiful song.

  • que de souvenirs...

  • Es mi cancion de preferida de Duran Duran .... my favorite song of Duran Duran.

  • I agree. My favourite song too!

  • I think the chorus goes something like this:

"Would someone please explain, the reason for this strange behavior. In exploitation's name, we must be working for the skin trade."

I'm guessing the EXPLOITATION'S NAME part is the one that you can't pick up. I'm not quite sure myself, but if you can read lips, check out JT (left) at the 4:14 mark in the vid.

  • can someone please tell me how does the chorus go?

  • Would someone please explain

The reason for this strange behavior

    In exploitation's name

We must be working for the skin trade

  • thanks but i know it now lol

    cheers :)

  • Has any Duran Duran single aged better than this one? However, the single version heard here (with it's horn part ripped out) pales in comparison to the album cut.

  • this is my second favorite song about prostitution (Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" is my favorite).

  • cool song by duran duran!

  • de las mejores canciones lejoss.....

  • I hope Duran starts touring with Red Carpet soon! I'd love to see them again, it's been quite a few year since Notorious! =)

  • duran duran is very underrated, musically they are excellent, wish they could get more support from current media like radio

  • You are perfectly right. At least nowadays. The were big back then. Really big.

They can compose and the can perform.

Sometimes their extroverted attitude overbrights this fact. Love 'em.

  • Love this song. Simon sings it really well and it is very catchy! :D

  • still fresh as ever even in 87 rock on baby

  • I love that a post-punk band from Birmingham can reference Thunderclap Newman and Prince at the same time while sounding exactly... like themselves. It's a good time to be alive. Take ecstacy.

  • Wow ! I loved this band !! :-)

  • he sounds like Prince

  • God, brings back memories of love and devotion in 80s and early 90s. This song is just great, it has the DD-typical atmosphere that I like. Great! TT
