SKIP both ideas of hard drive cages, buy hotswap cages for your 5.25" bays, Skip those TB drives all together as their MTBF is relatively low and go SAS as that is what that nice HP RAID controller is designed for. SAS has a ton more I/O's vs sata. I would NOT use that ram you selected to run a server! Your board that you have there can use ECC Unbuffered ram. Remember we are wanting almost 100% up-time because this is a web server.

I think the original coolermaster hdd mounts w/ the fans in front to cool off the hdds is pretty sweet ;) ...I think it's kinda cliche to paint it white, because a popular term for a white full tower server is a 'white box server' , but that typically refers to an old or inexpensive server.

This one is rather unique it's like

a great white box server.

I think you should put in another CoolerMaster hard drive cage. It looks cleaner than the Lian Li hard drive cages.

If you can do it try to put another 230mm fan or two in the front on top of the bottom fan at the front of the case. The hard drives will stay nice and cool, and will be very quiet compared to 120mm fans. Oh and change the color of the LED fans to white, that would look sick!!

Blizzard is what I came up with as far as a name. Maybe Whiteout.

Read some of the other comments and noticed you are going to use Windows for your server, this is a bad idea for RAID...

Far as I know Windows has never been great with RAID, what you want to do is get Ubuntu Server running, this runs perfectly with RAID and you can expand it to run other services for your home, like web servers, databases or even emails...

As for the Hard drives, I noticed you haven't got RAID edition Hard Drives...

Also why RAID 6 and not 5? 6 is 10% slower than 5...

Going for 6 as its double parity, Im looking for saftey not speed. Still might do 2 lots of raid 5 yet.

Ive been using Server 2008 for a while, the 2008 R2 is based on the windows 7 kernal and is a VERY good OS.

Ive never used Linux so just staying with what I know.

Drives will be fine in raid, my current drives are in raid and they run fine.

Its saftey for my data Im going for not speed remember ;)

The RAID Editions are designed to run non-stop like hard drives in server usually are, there not any bit faster just better for running in a server.

It will probably be worth looking into Linux, using Linux should help improve the stability of the machine and protect the data a lot better.

Best thing to do is find a little crappy machine and install Linux without a GUI and then just using tutorials and guides on the internet have a play around its not too hard to pick up...

Id use the lian bay drives but mount then so the hdd cables face towards the rear of the case. Then mount 4 120 fans on youbracket so each is blowing accross all 3 hdd in each cage. I think this would allow for the best air flow accross the top surface of each hdd.

I'd put hotswappable HDD bays into the 5.25 bays. Not the old cage style, but the newer ones that let you push in a bare drive. Otherwise, I'd use the Lian Li cages. The grommets are easy to find and the drives are super easy to get in and out as well as the excellent noise reduction.

why'd ya need even a 3870... Just use one to install the os then scrap the graphics.

Also I think 2 raptors would simply be overkill. This may be what your going for but if it were me i'd use just a normal hdd (or even an ssd). I do hope aswell your not going to use windows :p there are really good linux builds designed to be just storage systems.

On the hdd cages i'd use the doubled up haf ones as there is more space inbetween the drives and you only need space for 10 and not 12.

For the server, I'd stick with putting CM parts in the CM case. I wouldnt feel right doing anything else myself. As for the name, its late, so i'll say the "Cooler Master HAF Space Invader"

I think you're getting the builds mixed up. The white one is a client build and the other one ( which is not painted) is going to be the server.

Drobo (up to 16TB) or a Drobo Pro (up to 32TB with all server functionality) I personal own a Drobo with 6TB of storage, IMO the best NAS solution on the market.

Also I'm wondering why you didn't go with 1.5TB or 2Tb hard drives?
