The N. Iraqi Kurdish government is based on tribal powers. The leaders of the society are either religious figureheads or corrupted peshmerga fighter warlords. They of course are looking forward to the oil sources, but they are using nationalist ideas to foster their positions. They are no good for the Kurdish people or the other nations there. US is making a big mistake, but heck, Houston is happy, so what?!
