The camera of my Desire S is excellent.. and it is a superfast phone(of course it's running on 1ghz processor with 768mb ram)..

So don't be worried about 5mp camera, its result is very good.

But the video call experience is not good for me. The front facing camera for video calls at night is a bad experience, and the back camera is blurry on skype,, maybe i need to hard reset my phone. Overall, the phone is awesome!

I got the htc desire s today and i'm having problems with the wifi. it says it's connected and you can see the wifi bars but i still can't get an internet connection, i can get one on 3G though. Also my ipod touch is connected via wifi and works absoloutly fine! somone pleeease help me!

I might be wrong, but I think you'll find that you can't stream video taken off the phone's camera because the Desire S only shoots in .3gp. Seeing as most players, don't support this file format, that may be your problem. Any comments anyone?

I know I'm not the one who is supposed to ask, but I can mention

a few of things that are different between the HTC Desire S, and Nexus S.

The Desire S has 768Mb of RAM, a second generation 1GHz cpu, expandable storage, of course DLNA support.

The Nexus S has 512Mb of RAM, 1st generation 1Ghz cpu, stuck with 16GB of storage, no DLNA but has Near Field Communication (which is good for future transactions).

Right. The Snapdragon, Hummingbird, and OMAP family is based on

the Cortex A8 chipset.

I wasn't sure that Samsung's cpu built into the Nexus S would be

different, meaning 2nd gen, from the Galaxy S phones.

What's your source, I'm curious.

I couldn't find a solid confirmation on it being 2nd gen.

Your saying since these processors share the same architecture--

all the processors will follow same iterations?

So, if it's confirmed that the Snapdragon cpu is of 2nd generation (say in a newer phone),

then the Hummingbird cpu, by Samsung, will be the same (in a newer phone).

Is that what you mean?

@toonygamer2004 You forget to mention though that the Nexus S has a Hummingbird GPU which still puts it up on top of the single cores.. although the 2nd Gen Snapdragon is Better then the original as it has upgrade GPU the performance is about on par with each. Also Nexus S has SAMOLED and a Contoured Display with Gorilla Glass, while Desire S has an SLCD Display and.. some sort of reinforced glass... the only thing I dislike about HTC.. no Gorilla Glass.

The Cortex A8 Hummingbird 1Ghz processor inside the Nexus S

is based on the ARMv7 instruction set, and this phone's processor

uses 65nm technology. Thus, first generation.

2nd, and 3rd generation cpu's in phones now are using 45nm

technology.
