i think it is only for better understanding that hiv dna use a enzyme which cuts host dna to integrate (If Im right the human DNA seem like clew - very long helix)

Anti-retroviral drugs are good at preserving the infected persons life, however they have actually contributed to the rise in HIV infections because people live longer and now have more time to pass on the illness.

@stanfe5 Not that many people who know they have HIV consciously continue having unprotected sexual relations - and for them to take these drugs, I think it means they just might know they're sick.
