  • , some of the story is ok but Mr. Lewis & Mr. Martin had worked at the club 500 in 1946 as a separate act . Dean did not want to work with mr.lewis . Slap stick that he did was not funny . There is a book written by the Club owner sister in law which tells the same story . Her name is Grace D amato. Skinny sister in law-- Its was that Club that made him..and help kick Sinatra's career. In fact when Skinny passed Sinatra come to Atlantic City for the funeral.

  • YES , YOUR A GREAT ACT . YOU ALWAYS BELIEVED YOU WERE BETTER THAN DANNY KAYE AND YOU YES YOUR A GREAT ACT. I SAT IN YOUR DRESSING ROOM AT THE 500 CLUB AS A CHILD AND WATCH YOU PUT ON MAKE UP .THOSE HORSE POLICE YOU TALKED ABOUT WAS MY FATHER .

Then you returned to Atlantic city at Resorts casino ....................I was there both Times ......

  • omg I love all his wonderful stories:)

  • Many years ago I asked my brother-in-law, who worked as a stagehand/carpenter, with Jerry Lewis, why a man of his talent was not successful on TV. His answer was this: "The problem with Mr. Lewis is that he is a genius. He and Artie Shaw are perhaps the smartest two men that ever faced a camera. They were not only intelligent...they were also perfectionist. Unfortunately, because of those traits few people could work with them".

  • wow .....what a life...

  • who the hell is the 1 person who"disliked" this?

  • It doesn't take long to realize that Lewis is kind of a blow-hard.

The interview is very interesting, nonetheless.

  • @septip123 I had the misfortune of working with Jerry Lewis. He is a total ass. Very full of himself, and very arrogant. He also has anger management issues as well. He is not well respected by crews he works with.

  • @rty1955 what are you?his shoe maker?how can you post something like this on a show legend?

i don't know nothing about him, exept the thing in puplic.and i must say, jerry lewis is one of the of the most best human beeings i've ever seen in my life!

  • This man is a legend I love him !!!!!!

  • this is brilliant...great that jerry did these interviews..this is history...dean dna jerry were the beatles of comedy..thats how huge they were...are...will always be

  • mauvaise synchro du son mais jerry parle si bien de dean avec humour et vérité

  • I have all of these saved on my computer, wonderul interviews. Jerry is the greatest

  • To Vidonweb, that's how Dean wanted it. Read the Dean Martin bio Living High in the Dirty Business of Dreams....very insightful story on Dean and many other stories verified here by Jerry on how they met. Book says Jerry first saw him outside of hotel in New York, and many more stories of how they started. Theses interviews are awesome.

  • Read Jerry's book 'Dean and Me..a love story' . You'll love it.

  • interviewer needs a mike....martin and lewis the best comedy team ever...

  • Marvelous insights into the personal history of the Lewis and Martin comedy team. A treasure trove of picturesque stories and superlative memories given full dimension.

  • lol. Listening to this clip it makes me realize that Jerry Lewis cannot possibly be more famous than he already is.

  • Albert Eienstein, Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin!!! WOW!! I'd give " lefty" (literally!(but only for the 3 of them!) to have been with them! What a mind blowing trio!!!!! Lucky, lucky Jerry... what a life!

  • There's a number of DVDs that you can buy to see the Colgate Comedy hour with Jerry and Dean -- they're very impressive! They're well scripted, Jerry and Dean worked hard on them, and they were at their "peak" at what they did. Excellent viewing. They also did various impressions and satire of that time that's fun to look at.

  • I have a lot of the Colgate Comedy Hours of which Lewis speaks here, and the physical comedy Martin and Lewis did was absolutely breathtaking. They were death-defying, fearless, incredible!

  • @FrankiesMom could you upload them plz ? :Dx

  • @FrankiesMom could you upload them all plz...pretty plz ???!!!! :P:D

  • Jerry got them together, Jerry wrote the act, Jerry was on the first color broadcast, Jerry was the hit of the Comedy Hour, The director was HIS director... Jerry, Jerry,Jerry,Jerry,Jerry,Jerry..........

  • Yes, he did all these and even lots more, because he was really good!

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Dean Martin, since then ( 1968 ) I've wished to meet Mr. Lewis. Love this series, Thank you all.

  • Thats amazing:-) You're truly lucky. I imagine that Dean was every bit as wonderful in person as he was on the big screen:):)

I would give ANYTHING to meet Jerry....I love him with all of my heart:Dxx

He n' Dean were the best comedy act of all time!!!!
