anyone can get a fully auto weapon if they have the money and do the paperwork. paperwork can take 6 months plus to get clearance. for obvious reason. and you can get a semi auto ar 15 for about 900-1300, whereas the fully auto version costs like 17,000. anything is possible if you take the time

When it comes to a full auto AK in the US you are looking minimum $15,000 for one that is legal. I think that is a lot to ask for when it comes to a rifle whether it be full auto or not.

@HandsHeldHigh1 all you need is a class three for full auto weaponry and a FFL to purchase firearms online other wise you can find and buy any semi gun as a civilian and if you have a class three license, full auto weapons. You can find pretty much every gun for sale, from fifty caliber weapons to automatic glocks or any other firearm, on the web and at gunshows. I've seen some weapons with m203 or grenade launcher attachments but i'm not sure what the law is on explosive weaponry.

Even if the semi auto version is legal, and it is legal to possess the full auto conversion kit, it is still a Class A Felony to possess them together or convert the weapon to full auto. There is no legal way for a civilian to purchase a full auto made and added to the registry after May 19, 1986 and no legal way for them to convert it anymore.
