baseball infact came from the game of cricket... each game has its own difficulty. american football is hard but you can't compare that to soccer because soccer is worldwide respected game. same goes for baseball. baseball is defenetly a easier version of cricket. that's how it was originally made anyway. players including ladies at that time couldn't play because it required lot of stamina to play for 3 to 4 days or even 150 to 300 balls per day even. they cut it down to 3 strikes.

Baseball is more precise. It takes more technique and is a game about doing everything correctly. The best hitter in baseball's 150+ year history only hit with success 3 1/2 times out of every 10 at bats. So baseball takes more hand eye coordination, mental approach, etc. However even being a fan I know it can be extremely boring to a non-baseball fan. Cricket has the high intensity and flash that baseball doesn't have. It's all about what you're into.

baseball has so much more complexities to it than cricket... you always have to be thinking about your next move. Like stealing bases, sacrifice bunting, advancing the runner from 2nd to 3rd with less than 2 outs, double plays, sacrifice flys, backing your man up, what base to cover when the ball is hit to different areas etc... in cricket there seems to be little to none of that, they just stand there and hope to catch it, if not they go to the next play.

@CaptainInsano280 baseball has all that plus more... pitchers throw fastball, changeup, curveball, screwball, splitter, knuckle, slider. the fielders also adjust their positions based on tendencys of the batter, whether he pulls the ball or not/ right handed left handed/ power hitter etc. Plus the base running and situations resulting from having runners on base is much more complex, being able to steal bases, pitcher has to pitch from the stretch with runners on base etc.

@Epimpin101 Cricket Equivalents , Pace bowling, slower/faster one, swing, splitter/knuckle are just variation of slower ball that comes out differently, slider is similar (slides the pitch). regarding field positions, you have minimal in baseball vs many combo in cricket(look up wikipedia for field postions, you will swoon). quick run=stealing run, minor changes due to base and pithcer mound being different. However baseball does not have spin, nor does allow mental balttle of similar character.

Mark, I would say the cricket equivalent to a home run is a 6. The ball is hit over the boundary without bouncing. It is quite nuanced especially the variety of different bowling attacks. Its level of fairplay and sportsmanship and good conduct within the game is high. The bad behaviour and antics of soccer players would not be tolerated in cricket. And its not allabout money.

Actually, you ignorant chi chi, I have. I went with some friends to England once to visit some of our friends over there, and they wanted us to play, so we did. I fucking sucked at it (though I'm worse at baseball), mainly because Im not a huge sports guy, but my friend whomped everyone else on the other team. He's a huge baseball player too. Now, they weren't professional or anything, but they were good enough to play for one of the universities there.
And batting in baseball takes strategy too...just swinging blindly will either get you a homerun or an out, most of the time being an out. Good baseball players aim their hits, to go through any holes in the infield, or gauge their power to hit the ball right in front of the outfielders, or above their heads.

baseball infact came from the game of cricket... each game has its own difficulty. american football is hard but you can't compare that to soccer because soccer is worldwide respected game. same goes for baseball. baseball is defenetly a easier version of cricket. that's how it was originally made anyway. players including ladies at that time couldn't play because it required lot of stamina to play for 3 to 4 days or even 150 to 300 balls per day even. they cut it down to 3 strikes.

Baseball is more precise. It takes more technique and is a game about doing everything correctly. The best hitter in baseball's 150+ year history only hit with success 3 1/2 times out of every 10 at bats. So baseball takes more hand eye coordination, mental approach, etc. However even being a fan I know it can be extremely boring to a non-baseball fan. Cricket has the high intensity and flash that baseball doesn't have. It's all about what you're into.

baseball has so much more complexities to it than cricket... you always have to be thinking about your next move. Like stealing bases, sacrifice bunting, advancing the runner from 2nd to 3rd with less than 2 outs, double plays, sacrifice flys, backing your man up, what base to cover when the ball is hit to different areas etc... in cricket there seems to be little to none of that, they just stand there and hope to catch it, if not they go to the next play.

@CaptainInsano280 baseball has all that plus more... pitchers throw fastball, changeup, curveball, screwball, splitter, knuckle, slider. the fielders also adjust their positions based on tendencys of the batter, whether he pulls the ball or not/ right handed left handed/ power hitter etc. Plus the base running and situations resulting from having runners on base is much more complex, being able to steal bases, pitcher has to pitch from the stretch with runners on base etc.

@Epimpin101 Cricket Equivalents , Pace bowling, slower/faster one, swing, splitter/knuckle are just variation of slower ball that comes out differently, slider is similar (slides the pitch). regarding field positions, you have minimal in baseball vs many combo in cricket(look up wikipedia for field postions, you will swoon). quick run=stealing run, minor changes due to base and pithcer mound being different. However baseball does not have spin, nor does allow mental balttle of similar character.

Mark, I would say the cricket equivalent to a home run is a 6. The ball is hit over the boundary without bouncing. It is quite nuanced especially the variety of different bowling attacks. Its level of fairplay and sportsmanship and good conduct within the game is high. The bad behaviour and antics of soccer players would not be tolerated in cricket. And its not allabout money.

Each team has on consists on averag of 11 players. 6 x 11= 66 members. I think you can extrapolate that to the other 180 clubs.

Actually, you ignorant chi chi, I have. I went with some friends to England once to visit some of our friends over there, and they wanted us to play, so we did. I fucking sucked at it (though I'm worse at baseball), mainly because Im not a huge sports guy, but my friend whomped everyone else on the other team. He's a huge baseball player too. Now, they weren't professional or anything, but they were good enough to play for one of the universities there.

And batting in baseball takes strategy too...just swinging blindly will either get you a homerun or an out, most of the time being an out. Good baseball players aim their hits, to go through any holes in the infield, or gauge their power to hit the ball right in front of the outfielders, or above their heads.

In 20/20 Cricket they do swing at it.
You must acknowledge that they are protecting the stumps at all times. Baseball players don't have to worry about any stumps so they can afford to just smack it without much thought.
Cricket is very tactical.

You people arguing over this topic are completely stupid. I would say that 90% of you making "valid" comments about the other sport no almost nothing about it. It is a very hard thing to hit a round ball with a round bat, and the ball doensn't just come straight there are dozens of pitches that move. Cricket on the other hand batters must have more controln to find wholes in the defence something that some baseball players could never do. So please stop this pointless argument.
