@Fabouss let me clarify, i should have been more specific----when Nikki is out of her relm, shes quite marginal/boring...her relm being her jazzy scat singing--ive heard her version of the National Anthem--she started out ok, but failed on the high notes----the song was clearly out of her range-----this song "I Believe" could have been sung by anyone, because she sounds like anyone--- she brings nothing new to the table, to coin a phrase

Wow this young lady has chops. She totally owned Oh Canada. Sung at half-time speed like it was, with such long phrases, she was stunning! And her vibrato control and pitch were immaculate. WHEW!

As for any criticism that she "went commercial" for the Olympic tune I wouldn't worry about her turning her back on her jazz roots (Disclosure: I do not know her at all). She has already established herself through jazz and has caught the attention of The Establishment in the business as such.
