  • u need chains. And if u have winter tires no problemo. I got winter tires. i buy used one 3.5 years old winter tires i can go anywhere i got good profile 7mm. Someone had on porsche and gave to sell me. Rich people got to much money lol ! THey trow good tires away so funny. 255 40 17"

  • nice haha i love the 5.0 but in NJ with snow idk if i should buy it.. might stick with subaru lol

  • @njralliartkid22

You would be OK as long as you get winter tires for it. Everyone is afraid of rear wheel drive in the snow but it's really not bad. My Mustang has like 3/4s bald Pirelli P-Zeros. Probably the worst tires for the snow aside from maybe slicks.

Generally when it snows I take my other car but that wasn't an option when this video was taken... And then poof I got stuck!

  • @TheFivepointbro i hear ya! lol my buddy just got a 2011 sti... terrible in the snow because they have like slicks on them lol its funny. if he had winter tires the sti would be a beast lol

  • I live in Anchorage, AK and just bought my 2012 5.0 2 weeks before the snow fell. It has since snowed over 80" (which is a record for Anchorage). With traction control and 300 lbs of cat litter in the trunk my car gets around amazingly. If the snow is higher than the air dam is where I find problems

  • This is why I don't buy muscle cars. It's only fast if it's moving, and now it's not

  • @bmwmsport11 I have the same car, 5.0 2012 stang and I live in Alaska. I have the summer slicks on the car. A little traction control and 300 lbs. of cat litter in the trunk go a long way!

  • What state is this in? lots of snow!

  • @thefivepointbro yeah I know, I got the same tries as I also have the brembo package. well I'm also glad it has traction control. :)

  • oh wow! I got the exact same car except my one is a 2012 and in kona blue. it is my first RWD car ever and I'm already anxious how it will cope with the snow we're about to get here in switzerland this winter. however, you really do need winter tires. I especially had a set of bridgestone blizzaks shipped from the USA, I heard they are the best for mustangs.however, enjoy your awesome car!

  • @paesce78

You should be totally fine since you have winter tires :)

My previous Mustang was a 2009 and it had all seasons and wasn't so bad. This new one only has the high performance Pirelli summer tires which are useless in the snow.

  • I hear the blizzaks are good snow tires for the mustangs

  • If you go up in reverse you'll get a better result.

    truth.

  • @brianvan09

I couldn't even back DOWN the hill, let alone reverse up it.. lol

It was completely dug in. Two little super smooth ice ruts for the rear tires to sit in.

  • @TheFivepointbro Well shit.

  • that only works with FWD, if im not majorly wrong this is a RWD..

  • it's really coming down too

  • No idea what everyone keeps talking about how mustangs are bad in the winter. Hell I live in the middle of canada. Just slap on 4 studded tires and im driving around like its summer with out any problems at all.

  • how is this different then a normal ford? they are always broken down slow or stuck...

  • It happens to my mustang all the time in the winter, and i live in Chicago. Snow tires and sand bags in the trunk help out a lot, plus a shovel in the car. Great cars, but they perform poorly in the snow.

  • Aww :(

  • Yeah I live in Illinois and want to drive a 5.0 year round. I know I'll have to get winter tires, but this is pretty funny that you tried to do it on summers. It was worth a shot eh? haha

  • You might consider getting a set of chains for it, I'm not sure where you are at but snow like that doesn't come down that often in most places. In most cases the road crews have it cleaned up in a day or two. Get a set of chains - be careful to check they are coated where it might contact the wheels - learn to put them on, and use them for emergencies, find a buddy with a 4x4.

  • Oh ok.....thanks for the response.

Got a question. Does your brake pedal make a loud clunking sound when you release it? I just got up to 10K miles on my 2011 V6 and started noticing it....am going to take it to the dealer.....it's really bugging me.

  • @torchy187

Nope. My car doesn't do anything unusual and it's at 21,000km so far.

The brake pedal clunking might be a normal thing for these Mustangs but the track package ones come with Brembo brakes, right.. so maybe that's why mine doesn't clunk?

I hope you get it sorted out. Good luck!

  • Why not just leave the all season tires that were on the car when you bought it? I am confused as to why you would buy new summer tires.

  • @torchy187 I agree entirely.

However, those are the tires the car comes with. I didn't buy special summer tires it's just that I bought my Mustang with the track package and that comes with high end summers.

I'll get winters next year :)

  • why would you even attempt summer tires in weather below 40* ?

  • lol can't turn

  • bro you need snow tires in the rear and 250 lbs. of sand or salt or shingles in ur trunk and a chevy truck lol

  • @jacob5525

I definitely would have had snow tires if I lived somewhere that expects snow. We really got caught off guard with that one. Just a set of snow tires and I would have been fine. I'll have some next year just in case.

  • turn on your traction control

  • @jimP71

Haha of course I tried that.

I tried all sorts of things. I filled the gas tank to the top on the way there to add weight to the rear. Tried starting out in 2nd, even tried starting in 3rd. Tried pumping the handbrake a little to get the limited slip rear to work. Nothing was helping.

  • @jimP71 turn OFF your traction control.
