Down to the point the average AFL player has to have more rounded abilities to be able to play at an elite level, no spot on an AFL field exists to hide guys like props or front rowers, who's focus is on using weight and strength to gain meters and tackle, and....that is it. Catching the high ball, running, and kicking goals. Since I'm a good sport lets add dodging tackles. Since this is also a big skill. OK! Down to the point the average AFL player has to have more rounded abilities to be able to play at an elite level, no spot on an AFL field exists to hide guys like props or front rowers, who's focus is on using weight and strength to gain meters and tackle, and....that is it. They don't kick, don't mark a ball, don't have to have a creative thought in their brain, apart from, "catch ball, run..." or "he's running directly towards me, i'll tackle him".
