not really herky jerky..he kinda stops at ideal balance point then brings everything at you....hes already striding at the stop which gives him more leverage ala lincecum(not so much stopping but the balance point being during stride)
So much for the "balance point pitchers are out of vogue". The herky jerky I think helps him stay back for a great push and distract the batter. AWESOME mechs. Saw his last outing against the Mariners in spring training...dominated. working on similar mechanics here.
its fast at 1:20, but martin caught it with the palm part so it made a louder echo,

he is a bit herky jerky in his delivery but it really works for him. this guy has SICK movement on his pitches.
