This is total crap. All of these foods hinder post-recovery and will just spike your cortisol levels higher when your body realizes there is no amino acids getting to the muscles in that first 30 minutes after a workout.
ahem ahem...your post workout meal has to be mainly simple carbs and not complex carbs because you want to restore your glycogin stores. Protein is often out of the question because you can have that later (like 1 hours later or so).
Horrible video, people below me have explained why. I can't believe this has so many views, I feel bad for the people who listened to this. You should take it down so you don't get more people to eat foods that won't help after a workout.
lol, she even says you should have proteins and carbs to "refuel your muscles" and then she goes and recommends fats and fibres like cheese, almonds, hummus and peanut butter. thumbs down.
I think simple low fat carbs (watermelon, rice cakes) are fitting for a POST workout meal, complex carbs (whole grain bread, hard bioled eggs or oatmeal) for pre-workout (for energy).
after lifting wait 30 min then eat a white potatoe wait 5 min then drink whey protein shake.potatoe will spike insulin causing u to restore glycogen and shuttle protein to muscles
hello im going to start trying to get rippend for this coming summer im gonna lift some weghts and work on my cardio. im a lil over weght im 21 years old im 5'6 and weigh 160 can some one please give me some diet tips for weigh lose and everything i need to help build my muscle like protein stuff and how much to eat. thanks for your help. im a guy BTW LOL
forget the scale, focus on inches. eat well cut your 9" plate in half, then 1 half cut in half again. the 1/2 fill with fruits and veggies. then 1/4 with lean protein or non meat protein. the other 1/4 with complex carbs. go for it!
Well I have just resorted to eating peanut butter out of the jar with a fork...if you think that's mental I already do it with mustard.... >:) ......Sometimes I just like to get one of those pita breads and go too the fridge with my eyes shut and take out whatever I grab and fill the pita bread to the top and just eat it....I don't know what it is it just makes me feel more alive! :D
this is bullshit you dont need to eat fat (even healthy) like almonds or peanut butter after you workout. all you need is some simple carbs (to make use of your insulin spike) and protein.
The only problem with the tuna is that both Bluefin and Yellowfin are red-listed, meaning they're numbers are seriously depleting. Yellowfin I believe is not legal for consumption in the US due to its status of endangered. The Bluefin however is available but is in nearly as much danger.
International research teams predict that within 40 years, there will not be enough sea fish and the international fisheries will collapse entirely. This will be the last century for wild fish consumption.
ya we fucked outselves very good the only solution is to start fucking killing off fuckers with weak genetics physical and mental deformites and stop sending any resources to countries that cant support themselves otherwise were just fucking ourselves over and money shouldnt save you in this situation if you have money but your shitty enough that your not contributing thoroughly kill them and take there assets spend it on the worthy
Some interesting points, however I don't think many people world would agree to such practises. One of the biggest things we can do at this point is to push for stronger international regulations on fishing. As consumers, we can make a huge impact by staying informed and buying responsibly- after all, it's our $/product-demand that supports detremental fishing practises.
Also, the collapse of an entire market is the last thing world economies can handle. Fishless oceans= jobless fishers.
fishless oceans = a lot more problems than just jobless fisherman
no tuna = things that eat it die, the things that eat those things die, the things that eat those things die, the plants those things eat & shit the seeds to grow more, those plants die, and so on & so forth.. it effects the PLANET far worse than it effects us - the stupid human parasites..
Oh yes, I'm quite aware of this. However most people don't care unless it directly and immediately affects them. I suppose this means we're just going to go down in history as the A-holes who messed things up.
Not quite. We have just become more concious about it now. Previous generations were much better at being those A-holes. Hopefully, our generation is when things started to change for the better.
O MY GOODNESS this dessert idea at the end FANTASITIC! it looks sooo good! I also like, Sarah how you are adding the sidebar comments during the video very helpful! THX DIETHEATLH for another great vid!
A good point, that should have been noted in the video.
But, how do you replenish empty glycogen levels with cheese and peas? Where are the quick digesting simple carbs?
If you are a dietetian, you should know better than to comply with general consensus - that sugar is bad for you (natural sugar i mean). You should remake that video, with some facts. Just saying...
yes, esp if you go to a store like Whole foods, and make it yourself. There will be nothing added to it. It's a good source of protein and good fat. Just make sure you only eat 2 tablespoons of it per serving, I like to have my peanut butter with veggies or sliced apples. Yum!
Total macronutrients consumed throughout the day is FAR more important then situational consumption. Any decent pre-workout meal will keep the insulin levels high enough to not need a post workout meal/shake.
I totally thought that the blender thing was gonna spew outa the cup!!! neat little tool.
It's always funny adjusting the amounts for my cal intake, cause I consume about 400cal immediately post workout, then 1k more about 40 mins later(the time it takes to get home,shower, and make the food).
Post workout and and your 2nd morning meal should be the biggest IMHO.

cheese= fat slows down digestion
nuts = fat slows down digestion
tuna crackers = fat + complex carbs
rolls = complex carb
choclate shake = soya milk which stops the absorbtion of protein + fat
Hey.. great video for a post work out shake (not)
