  • This should have more views and more likes. It's absolutely incredible.

  • Do you have low action on this bass? I never can make the hammer-ons in the main riff sound right (from C to D on the D string). I always lose the actual sound and definition of the note when I hammer on to the twelfth fret. Would you think lower action would help (I play with medium high action)?

  • @sc45470 yes I definetly have a low action, it helps a lot. But when you hit the strings to hard, you'll have this fret's sound. Personnaly I like it, but it's up to you :)

  • Whats kind of Pedal is on the 3:50 ? THX

  • @Ellershausen EHX micro pog + EHX bass big muff + TC Nova Delay, you're welcome

  • The Boss bass overdrive pedal at 6:13 ate the low end beyond belief. Was that set near 100% wet or something?

  • @monster5o pretty much yes :)

  • Trop Fooooort! Joli cover mec ;)

  • @MrDaiv1996 merci ;)

  • i love your bass!

  • HOW DO YOU PLAY THIS WITH A PICK? I can never ever get it right...

  • your tune is awsome

  • so this bass looks like a custom bass in the style of a Wal, but what pickups and stuff is it equipped with that gives it that Wal sound, and i know he uses other stuff to get the sound he gets but you obviously got this custom bass for some reason that is beneficial for covering tool songs etc?

  • @21Rushisaband12 the "wal sound" comes from the sansamp, not the bass.

  • Two people didn't know the pieces fit.

  • Love your covers dude, such a crisp and clear tone you have

  • any effects or somethin used?

  • fuckingamazing man you have wowed me i love the skill

  • Helped me a lot learning this song. Thanks a lot!

  • i beg you to write the tabs for 4.33 and 5.04 . i did searched it nearly in all tab sites but still cant play it the right way.

  • @cemoxay A C F G (playing between first and fifth)

  • The one who disliked can die

  • Should i expect a new version with a whammy pedal? i mean, is it in your future plans?

  • @makelelegd96 hum, not really. I've done 3 versions of this song. Check the live version /watch?v=193GQ9BPJ4M , it has the whammy part ;)

  • hey man your new cover is alot better but i still admire the old one too. so in general what im trying to say is you rock at bass. and i have a question how do you do that split screen when you put the video together? like where theres two different screens in the video?

  • @mrguitarman151 Thanks ;) I'm using 2 cameras, and then I use a video editing software to add one video to the other ;)

  • @remiiiiiii ahhh okay. um do u think you could tell me what kind of editing software you use? and thanks for responding to my comment man. means alot

  • @mrguitarman151 Adobe Premiere, and no problem for the answer ;)

  • U should put more atention to the intro, there's a mistake in the chords, jost a single one. The first chord at the second circle is not with the D like the first one, is with an F in the third fret. just try. And the solo ...is just a Digitec Whammy dude.

  • bet that POG pedal is beastttt with a bass! great cover man, all of em are spot on and tool aint no joke. respect.

  • Never mind i saw the gear vid : ) thanks

  • Can u give me a list with your setup plz!

  • can u tell me what equipment u used? please...this was amazing...

  • Awesome you did the volume swell effect on this cover.

  • what do you think of playing tool songs without a pick? depends on the song?

  • @murshies its hard to get the tone without a pick, and some songs hard just to hard to play without a pick, like sober. but im pretty sure 10000 days is played without a pick.

  • Can you play 7 Nation Army?

  • What kinda strings do u use?

  • TOP NOTCH!

  • i just don't get how my tab doesn't sound like yours! idk if you switched up or something but this is really pissing me off. oh and a tip on 2:17-2:22 please i am stuck on it

  • @pinkpop91764 what do your tabs say?

  • Ahh new strings, gotta love that sound

  • i think you need a volume pedal :)

but very nice job, what effects did you use on that at around 3:50?

  • @riciy it's a micro pog (1oct up) + Big Muff + NovaDelay

  • @remiiiiiii nice stuff bro, i dunno how you do it my fingers get lost when i use a pick, i can only finger pluck

  • @GrimmSkillZ then u need training ^^ i accualy (jes it sonds weird, bu that's how i am) 4 training i tried to use my fingern nais, and like learning playing itself you may need to start from the beginning just with the pic ;) that how i practised

    hope it helped :)

  • Awesome cover and once again TONE!

Made me learn the song, well the main riff.

  • sounds much better with the Wal replica

  • how do you get that tone

  • lol out of curiosity, how much was you're replica?:D

  • as always... SPOT FUCKIN ON MAN!

  • good job man i love this video

  • wish i could play that well

  • :DD this song is so fun to play! :)

  • You play great ! I didn´t knew as a bass playert that all that pedals could be used.

  • great...:)

  • man im learning all the tool songs on bass and im checking ur videos if the tabs i find are right big help man

  • I know in your earlyer videos you used a music man stingray. What is the bass guitar you''re currently using?

  • @TheEarthwormMatt It's a custom made, a replica of a Wal

  • @remiiiiiii its awesome! love the sound. as a beginer what do you think of an SG style epiphone eb-3

  • @TheEarthwormMatt thanks. Sorry I never tried one, but if it feels confortable and you like the sound, go for it ;)

  • @TheEarthwormMatt try an epiphone thunderbird dude

  • Sounds great, love the two cameras. Some of the notes aren't quite right. Check out my version if you like...

  • one of my favorite songs to play, i need to post a cover. i doubt it will be this good but who cares

  • I may sound like a bit of a Noob (And trust me i am when it comes to technoligy xD)

But what is that camera you have on your neck, what do you call them and do you recomend any particular one? Can they get the sound from your guitar?

  • holy crap dude nice!!!

  • lucky basturd has all those effects pedals lol

  • *sigh* I wish i had talent

  • @guygotyou dude he use to be just like you he didnt just pick up a guitar and be able to do this. it took pratice. i bet you could do this the same only if you praticed.

  • @guygotyou

You do... every one does, 10% talent / 90 % practice man...

  • tool 4 ever!

  • hey remiiiiiiiii i hate your cat, but i lov your bass, tokas chingon

  • that 1 guy does not know kick ass Bass playing when he sees it

  • great!! (Y)

  • is most tool played with a pick? i dont really use a pick. usually just fingers, i may have to change it up a bit. oh also what program do u use to record to the computer? i guess u use a output to USB cable to ur computer then use soem program to record the bass. but does it recor dthe song with it or do u have to put that in seperatly? that would be hard to do. to make it perfect....

  • is most tool played with a pick? i dont really use a pick. usually just fingers, i may have to change it up a bit.

  • It is fellow bass man like you that inspire me to keep creating. thank you

  • best cover of this I've ever seen. I've been trying to perfect this for 2 years... and this vid will helpme do so, I'm convinced... magnificent job.

  • very clean. great job

  • beautifully done

  • dude you need a whammy pedal

  • @CriusGuitarist23 a bass whammy pedal is very hard to find, and when u do, they usually run around 600 bucks

  • could you please send a link to me for the ToolBassPlayer's Website? because i've searched google and it's not coming up lol

  • @MetalxLicaxPP tooltabs dot net

  • @remiiiiiii alright, thanks very much :) keep up the good work

  • @tehwasabiking thanks, i used EHX bass big muff + EHX micro pog + Delay

  • @remiiiiiii do you have an actual pedal board or do you just line them up on the floor?

  • @username125418 see this video watch?v=uVzwo-GfSNA

you can see the pedal board I used to have.

It's now smaller, I think you can see the new one in my Reflection cover :

    watch?v=WwZNGrDSZt4 @ 3:26

  • @remiiiiiii thanks dude, keep up the killer bass work :)

  • Awesome!

By the way, how do you figure out on when the bass comes in at 0:15 ?

I can't seem to figure out any time signature for the intro.

Or do you just remember when it come in?

  • @DarkReaperSL thanks.

I add a marker in cubase (4 clics before the begining) then I remove it before exporting the final mix.

Google for tabs, you'll have the time signature.

  • @remiiiiiii Cool, thanks :)

  • Tool always has a weird time signature. I usually hold the note out for 6 beats.

  • wtf is mouarf????? haha

  • @KILLUHclown nothing, just a way to say "well, i made a mistake :p"

  • Make a tutorial.

  • @ruiisukun already done ......

  • how do u get ur bass to sound just like it does on the album?

  • Nice playing. Your bass sounds awesome. Very low action but thick and bright sound.

  • his timing is absolutely remarkable...i have never seen a faunt in it.

  • i was so anxious to see this covered by ya. Tool beholds one of the greatest bassists. lets see you cover the flee next :D

  • I know, that Wal is much better bass but i like yours Stingray sound more.

  • WAL (L)

  • isnt that the bass that justin chancellor has? lol i just saw them live in sacramento and saw the exact same bass

  • elle sonne cette basse! Beau boulot :) Quels micros ont été mis dessus?

  • I'm sure this has been asked already but, what bass is that???

  • i cant get the hammer-on sound on my bass, yet i can get it on my freinds bass (whitch is virtually the same as mine). could this be my action being higher than his so the string isnt hammering down as far?

any help or advice would be excellent.

by the way i dont go to the actual tool videos anymore, i come straight to your covers because they are that incredible

  • @LTLfilms see-my-profile

  • @remiiiiiii what kind of bass, i know its custom, but how much did it cost and who made it? please tell me :D right now i have a G&L and i like it, but the tone on that is amazing.

  • @DelusionProductions

I won't tell you how much, but less than a Wal :p

    A french luthier made it.

But G&L basses are good, look at your amp before changing your bass

  • @remiiiiiii yes, I like my bass, I just love the body of the mk2, I want to try and find one and just move my hardware from my g&l to it, I received it as a gift from an elder man knowing I was in the jazz band at my school, but he customized it for the "broken wrist" style of playing and I'm not used to it, just want to get a body like yours, but preferably a little darker. Do you know anywhere i can find any such?

  • @DelusionProductions I don't know. Mine was custom created, from pictures. Try to find a luthier. Or buy a blank body from warmoth dot com and do it yourself ?

    good luck

  • dude like wtf.....

    HOW focking awesome!!!! =DD

    nice bass btw

  • @stannieboy99 thanks dude ;)

  • no effects?and what the hell of a bass does you use?wich amplifier?wich equalization?

  • @doh5artcrimeskrew cf my profile .

  • hi man! very good cover. what kind of effect did you use?compression? please answer me soon!

  • @doh5artcrimeskrew no effects at all for the main sound

  • dude awesome cover, I hope you're in a fuckin killer band!!!!!

  • @danimal3805 thanks, I'm in a band ;)

  • @remiiiiiii and i checked out your band "under" theyre actually really really good. your going somewhere big. your ep was real good aswell.

    amazing cover yet again dude

  • Super amazing cover!!!!

What happened to the bass you used in your other schism video?

  • @OfficialDrumsNdSkate it's attached on the wall :p

  • @remiiiiiii LMAO, niiice :P

  • absolutely perfect, aside from a couple mistakes but i've seen you playing you got nothin to worry about no one plays 100% always, but with the whammy slow part, i feel like the distortion kinda crunches it up, i don't use distortion only delay, chorus, and whammy 1 octave up and it sounds very good, i'm sure you dont wanna post yet another cover of this song but if you ever got time in playing that song try less or no distortion and more whammy, just a thought

  • Flawless victory.

  • where did you get the tabs for this?

  • What are the hammer-ons exactly...? 9, 11 or 10, 12 on 2 then go to 10 or 11 on 1? Can't quite figure it out. I know it's something like that ^ though.

I'm merely one of those people who doesn't actually own the instrument but tries to figure out songs ahead of time so they can pick it up somewhat quickly.

  • He's got at least 7 different effects devices WOW!!!!

  • awesome cover man!!

  • @ARMEDMUNKY thanks

  • Hi!! sorry my english but... what is the pedal, that you use since the 3:50???

  • @yadrok EHX micro pog, EHX bass big muff, TC nova delay. But it's wrong for this song, I'm now using a whammy effect

  • bad fucking ass coverrr bro!!!!

    very well done!

  • Remiiii, what kind of electronics do you have on your new bass? It sounds great man, and as always superb cover.

  • That was great dude, but you got the bass whammy interlude part worng, and the effect sounded a bit off, its octave up/down, but apart form that, exellent! Tool are legends...

  • who made that bass for you remi

  • @9burgerwuss a french luthier

  • WAL,amazing bass.

  • Damn I wish I could get that bass but my Yamaha will have to do, oh and awesome cover definitely the best one out there.

  • for the whammy part do you use delay?

  • @fenderjbr , yes

  • Dang...how do you do that part around 4:00 with the different sounding notes, I turn the nob and it doesn't do anything =/

  • @Windzer15 , you have to "hammer on" (google it) the note with your left hand ;) (+ I use distortion)

  • the hammer on part is actually easier while playing fingers.. but a pick rox too :)

  • solid

  • Great cover. LOVE the tone of your bass.

  • Very good!! I like it !!;) Thx for the video!!

    Zsolt from Budapest

  • do you use a regular guitar pick

because i am a long time guitarist and my band needs a bass player

and little did i no. im pretty good.

but i wanna get better so watching your videos have helped me quite a bit.

    thank you for uploading.

    you are very talented

  • @crayZtaco7, I use Triangle Tortex picks ;)

    thanks for your comment

  • @remiiiiiii

    ALSO

what recording program should i use.

im thinking of gettin a program called RIFF WORKS.

    but idk

    its for making cds

  • @remiiiiiii , what mm do you use?

  • Just commented on your first version, that was awesome, but this is even better xD

    awesome bass line, awesome cover!

  • so fucking cool i wish i can play like you damn i have dumb fingers 10 stars

  • how do you get all your pedals to turn off at once?

  • how did you get the sounds in the interlude before you had the pedals, in your older video. whit what volume control did you played?

  • Damn man... you're too good XD

  • That is so nice... all the effects are perfect!!!!

  • sound*

  • finally a perfect cover of this song, the soud quality is sick!

  • Is that a Wal or a Wal copy? Either way - sounds sick. And you dont come across as a total douche bag like "Tool Bass Player" does. That guy is a tool.

  • its a wal copy but its a really good one

  • Yeah i do that by saying completely nothing in my videos.

  • thank you :)

  • How long did it take you to learn? I dont know how to play the guitar or bass at all. I just listen to tool and other band and always wanted to learn how play.

  • to learn what ? the song ? how to play ?

anyway I think it depends of the person, I can't give you an exact answer

  • @remiiiiiii I meant to play. How long you been playing for?

  • Just a question: do you continue to use the stingray also or just this bass I see here? If you use both I'm curious to know 4 which peculiarity u choose one instead the other. Thx!

  • well, the sterling is on its flycase since I have this new bass.

the new one has a lot more of low end, and the neck is just perfect. It's pretty heavy, but I really love it.

  • I like a lot your way to play, good job man and great sound ;-)
