the pride of america management sucks i hurt my hand on my 2nd contract and when i complain about it they try to fire me but i manage to jump ship and im now suing cuz i suffered legament damage to my right wrist ncl you treat your crew like criminals when in reality you are all a bunch of criminals who violate all type of rules

After 14 cruises with NCL, the Pride was a nightmare! Forty servers short in the dining room because the kiddies had gotten drunk on the first night, toilets backed up, tiny cabins, horrible experience. NEVER sail on a ship with an American crew! Wish all had been as concerned as this guy. They weren't!

Actually I hope you got commended for your initiative. Most people would have said "Oh never mind about that. That'll do fine" and go and stir their coffee regardless. Giving them a chopstick instead of something which you can't find shows customer care and as I said initiative.

I worked for NCL for two years! I was on all three ships in the fleet. Colin Veech said to all of our faces that no one was getting laid off but hundreds of people that were in their positions for a year or less were terminated! The other option was to work a 10 month contract on an international ship for half the pay!

The absolute best times of my life were spent aboard the Aloha. I went to the America once it was ready in Germany and had alot of fun, but the Aloha will always hold a special place in my heart.

I LOVE that ship. so much fun. i went on a 7 day cruise in 07, and an 11 day in o8 on the POA. great times.

I just took this last cruise to FAnning and had a pretty good time on the POAloha. THe crew was pretty good (except for the room stewards), the food was good, the entertainment was good, and Fanning was great (as always). Shame the POA is having to leave Hawaii waters....

Wow, I hadn't heard this! When will this happen? Will there still be NCL cruises around Hawaii? My husband and I will be on the Pride of Aloha this coming week (our first cruise and our first trip to Hawaii) so I'm glad we'll be able to enjoy it before it leaves!

Actully it's not really true that no one is being fired. Everyone who doesn't have a spot on the America is being laid off. They have some possitions available on the international fleet but any crew that wants to do that still has to apply and go through the interview process just like anyone else. There is no a single person who does not have a spot on the America who is guarenteed a job on the international fleet.

The Norwegian Sky was renamed, reflagged, and rebuilt as the Pride of Aloha.

What happened to the Norwegian Sky? I was a Sports Afloat and a God Parent of that ship. Now that it has been renamed I've lost my Godparentship (sp)? Are you now paid by the hour? Sorry you didn't get the Reception Position but as you think Utility is the worst position, I think passenger purser is much worse. Oh yeah, chopsticks rock! Amazing what PAX focus on! Come on people, have some fun and friggin relax. I always thought that crew would make the best passengers and that one confirmed it!
