Odd mixture of very good and very bad. He butchers the beginning by rushing, showing a complete lack of sensitivity to its expressive possibilities. Other parts are rushed too, especially the end. Just doesn't allow the music to breathe and reveal its possiblities at those times. Yet, other parts are very sensitively played and the faster tempo works well at times to create tension and hold the work together.
some people may not like his performance esp. on works like this. however i think it is fantastic. and honestly i feel gulda's spirit of jazz provides a modern resemblance to mozat's clavichord days, that's the reason why i still believe he is one of the best mozart's interpreters so far.
