didnt like. just saying. he means alot more then about this movie. its about making life decisions you thought u wanted and then seeing what u asked for wasnt what u really wanted. nice vid though so no hate on that, i watched it lol
Wonderful Elton John ballad merging with a great pic of 1939. It speaks to me, as I'm a small town boy from no name New England, USA; making my money in Texas. When I retire, (8 years...tick...tock...); I am going back to my plow in Maine. "Snow is easier when you're retired and don't have to go out in it!" Thanks K-Z for posting this vid. Peace.
Bernie Taupin wrote this song about how he was feeling towards Elton at the time - they became huge literally overnight, and Bernie wasn't taking it so well, and Elton was on his nerves. That said, this video is BRILLIANT - great job :)
The song has the same essence as the movie. Home, even if its small and a little forlorn remains home. but I think in the song ,its also about fairwheather friends.
A part of the movie I always loved was no one ever said "What do we do next?" After the monkeys take dorothy It was imediatly "We have to find Dorothy" So the theme differs there
its sad ever since i read wicked i kind of have this hate towards Dorthy and can't really love this movie as much. I always end up feeling sorry for Elphaba (wicked witch of the west) ho hum..
Well that book was written nearly a hundred years after the original so I woudn't judge the original based on it. Interestingly enough, the name Elphaba was actually used as a acronym of L.F. Baum's name in order to honour him since they were appropriating his book for all intents and purposes.
I think wicked is an excellent on stage performance. However, one can't link wicked and the wizard of oz. The wicked witch is wicked because she just is. The whole made up story behind it completely ruins the character, and defaces the work of Baum. Oh well.
@MaddisonHodder Yeah, I firmly disagree as well. I didn't hear anything or read anything that would make me think this was written about this movie. I have read that it was Bernie Taupin telling Elton that he was getting fed up with his cocaine-induced crazy lifestyle and was thinking about going back home if Elton didn't stop. Which may or may not be true, but it makes a whole lot more sense than your theory. Just go read the lyrics instead of listening for them - vodka? toads? Not Dorothy.
This is good, it would be awesome if you could replace the stillframes with moving clips. I don't know with DMCA if you could get away with calling it a tribute. But it would really be great if you could, especially the tornado shots.
Heh, thanks. I actually thought that a lot of pictures went by too quickly (mainly because by the last chorus I realized that I was almost out of song with plenty of movie left to put in, so I had to skip a lot of stuff).
surrender dorothy...nooooo...

if you listen to the lyrics really closley you can hear that this song is actully about this movie =) interesting eh?

While I highly doubt that the song is really about this movie, the lyrics do kinda resemble certain aspects of the movie.

I'd love to do that, but I lack the software or funds to purchase the software that lets you videocapture DVD's.

@KrakenZilla Cyberlink Youcam 3 lets you capture video & it is very, very inexpensive. Very, very inexpensive... very. (it's free)

that was really good it matched up the music and Song i love this movie and the song :) thanks for making this

Very nice visuals to the music. A lot of people aren't that good at matching visuals to music or keep shots on too long.
