I'm blown away at how Mr. Curry was able to take a "plain" (and not exactly fast) forward camel spin and transform it into such a **gorgeous** and moving concluding maneuver to the program.
Love both Toller Cranston, just viewing this makes me wonder where is skating going don't watch today there doesn't seem to be the same excitement as skaters such as both John Curry and Toller created it seems more athletic now than graceful and lyrical
I agree with you, we don't see the like of John Curry in today's figure skating competitions. Today's skaters are simply dull and boring lacking what John Curry and Toller Cranston real artists on ice.
Just beautiful! I liked Toller and John too, John a bit more than Toller - I am a Brit after all!!!! And who replaced them? Well, I'm bound to say Robin Cousins, but check out Rudi Cerne from the 80s as well.
Everytime I answer a comment the video runs and I see it again and again and I'm never bored. I don't watch todays Skating so I can have no opinion but it was a great break from covering wrestling when I was younger!
I adore John Curry - along with Toller my favourite male skater of all time. This clip is a rare treat and as skatesindreams says it is incredibly special. And loutyr IMO 30 years later no one has been able to replace them. They stand alone in skating history.
Thia ia incredibly special and beautiful. Thank you SO much for sharing this! These skating clips from your collection are real treasures. You have made many people happy today. I am one of them; and I know that you will have more grateful comments here.

Watching him skate, one would notice how much today's skating has been influenced by John Curry.
Scheherazade is among the most difficult pieces to skate to, but he interprets the music so well--with a mix of tension and freedom!

You are so nice to comment. I love John Curry just a little less than Toller. I don't know who replaced them but it would have been a tough job.
