  • I'm blown away at how Mr. Curry was able to take a "plain" (and not exactly fast) forward camel spin and transform it into such a **gorgeous** and moving concluding maneuver to the program.

  • Unforgettable John Curry, Noureev of the ice, the ultimate artist. Sheer perfection.

Thank you for sharing this most precious moment with us.

  • Watching him skate, one would notice how much today's skating has been influenced by John Curry.

Scheherazade is among the most difficult pieces to skate to, but he interprets the music so well--with a mix of tension and freedom!

  • what sk8ting is missing!!

    B R A V O !

  • Don't make me call the Spartans!

  • Love both Toller Cranston, just viewing this makes me wonder where is skating going don't watch today there doesn't seem to be the same excitement as skaters such as both John Curry and Toller created it seems more athletic now than graceful and lyrical

  • John Curry is a classic memory. Just enjoy!

  • @sandisage

I agree with you, we don't see the like of John Curry in today's figure skating competitions. Today's skaters are simply dull and boring lacking what John Curry and Toller Cranston real artists on ice.

  • looks like michelle kwan!!

  • He'd love to hear you say that!

  • Sob! My absolute fave. I adore Toller, but could watch John just stroke around the rink, just wonderful.

  • Funny, My feeling exactly, Love Toller and John is so good. I don't watch skating today so I'm stuck in ther 70's and 80's. Best

  • Yeah, give me the music of the 40's :>)

  • This program is so clean, and tidy, and neat, and graceful!

  • John Curry is a marvelous memory thanks for joining in the applause

  • Just beautiful! I liked Toller and John too, John a bit more than Toller - I am a Brit after all!!!! And who replaced them? Well, I'm bound to say Robin Cousins, but check out Rudi Cerne from the 80s as well.

  • Everytime I answer a comment the video runs and I see it again and again and I'm never bored. I don't watch todays Skating so I can have no opinion but it was a great break from covering wrestling when I was younger!

  • I adore John Curry - along with Toller my favourite male skater of all time. This clip is a rare treat and as skatesindreams says it is incredibly special. And loutyr IMO 30 years later no one has been able to replace them. They stand alone in skating history.

  • Me too floskate. I do heartily agree! Toller and John rocked the male figureskating world in the seventies. Thank God for them!!!!!

  • You are so nice to comment. I love John Curry just a little less than Toller. I don't know who replaced them but it would have been a tough job.

  • Thia ia incredibly special and beautiful. Thank you SO much for sharing this! These skating clips from your collection are real treasures. You have made many people happy today. I am one of them; and I know that you will have more grateful comments here.
