  • Nice.

  • wow cool vid! how did u have that much energy in ur camera? or did u cut it up and recharge ur camera every now and then? its really amazing how seasons effect the world over time. it never stops changing. ever.

  • Fake or not it still looks cool

  • Really pretty video! Congratulations Eirik!

  • Beautiful (^_^)... I think this video would be wonderful with Carly Comando - Everyday.

  • Очень интересный ролик. Спасибо вам.

Жизнь природы - это источник силы Земли. Поэтому ваш труд - это благое дело, несущее энергию жизни миру.

  • At first I though this was a video, but then realized it never turned night...

  • lol, i have 2 things to ask:

1: how did he placed that camera so it would stay still and in the exactly same spot for 1 year? infinite batteries?

2: wtf was he doing in the rain? An umbrella for the camera? <.<

  • @Nitrox151 It's not a bloody video you fucking idiot! Read the description AND Top rated comment!

  • A bit wierd not a single branch moved whole year.. even if taking pictures

  • lots of pictures but stil.. you have to wait 1 year to do this.. cool :P

  • amazing!! how you eliminate light variation.

  • people are seriously retarded,

    this video was not recorded.

the person tried to take pics everyday except for like bad condition days

  • Uniquely interesting

  • Canon S95 ...for eirikso

    .Oskar

  • Beautiful! Thanks

  • That's beautiful... I love it! Wonderful job.

...but can anyone else see the tree growing taller?? O.o

  • fake and bi-curious

  • Comment removed

  • I think you should have made it fit into around a minute but it's a great shot besides.

  • Fake

  • So... The branches don't move a whole year long? You sure this isn't fake?

  • Can someone tell me where this is?

    Good work!

  • Funny, but I had the same feeling come over as as when I am standing in front of a true piece of art in a museum.

    I reckon that's a good sign. :-)

  • This shit is soooo trippy

  • That was awesome! Thanks for taking the time to create that for me! I appreciate it!

  • you just put 2 pictures together and make them trans-something and it creates that effect.. simple..

  • Yes, I'm getting old... seen lots of seasons,

and, it's alright! -I thank you!

    Brilliant!!!

  • why did i get the feeling the front tree was getting closer to us lol

    that was weird

  • shadows.. D:

  • Awsome

  • what music is? :) but nice concept

  • music= watherfals, birds, thewind in the trees

  • not enough frames

  • not as good as the one in 40 seconds

  • 2 minutes?? i feel it like 10 hours

  • thats tight!!!!took you a long time tho...lol

    :d nice vid.

  • Ok, guys, it's not a video. Seriously, reading comprehension ftw. He said it was IMAGES. Images from the same spot for a year. Maybe he didn't put in rainy ones because it'd be a blip of random rain.

    Yeah,

  • that's a house!

  • so lol, he dont have to capture every single monet each second thts be impossible

  • it would of rain

  • What a gift to the human race. Thank you, Eirik. Thank you.

  • A year passed without it being night time? Or a gust of wind for that matter.

  • go to the site, tells you how he did it

  • You get - rating, yet you tell the truth.

Although it is a beautiful scene to look at, there are no animals, no broken branches, no breeze, nothing varying, and especially no night.

    Still love it though <3

  • the magic word is photo morf ;-)

nice work done.. the sound makes it even more worth it (5*)

  • You're fake. cuz you never change color.

  • i had to LOL ^^

  • @Nolanor What color? o.O

  • Si nos pasase la vida tan rapida, seguro que seriamos mejores personas y, nos dariamos cuenta de lo que vale la vida. felicidades por tu trabajo. salud

  • R U REALLY????HAHAHA

  • u can keep ur sexual preference a secret dude...we dont want to know that here;)

  • This work took exactly the right amount of time to create.

if only all works could be done in just the right amount of time.

  • nice video, but a large landscape would be amazing... ;D but takes a while hehe

  • Great video!5 stars! It reminds me of my old dog Guinness

  • the audio isnt part of this video but nice job anyway

  • i==the house in the background reallly ruins the dramaticness of it all...

  • winter isnt depressing.winter is time for us to see what reaaly comes down in one season, and if we really need to water our lawns for 3 hours a day.winter is time for the trees to pass on, but the pines to stay, and get wiser and wiser. but with every end, something begins! in spring, everything comes back.and that moment is the happiest we can know.

    wtf did i just say?

  • it just looks so cold and lonely though

  • Supercool!

  • This is the best time i've ever had watching grass grow. Seriously.

  • I concur

  • I loved it. How did you get the wind not to blow? It's like, well, there was no wind. No movement. I'm astounded.

  • Very cool!

I remember hearing somewhere, that, if you're lucky, you'll experience 75 summers, 75 springs, 75 autumns, and 75 winters.. When you measure your life in seasons, it really makes you appreciate them so much more!!

  • That is cool.

    How did you do that?

    Witch camera did you use?

and did you just keep the camera there all year?

    Thanks.

  • Very good!

  • is a wonderful world

  • cool video

  • тнαтѕ ѕσ ρяєтту! ι ℓσνє ωιℓ∂ℓιƒє

  • Amazing! 5*

  • Very nice.

  • it´s realy good

  • Lovely, fantastic video.

  • Really makes you appreciate the small things in life.

  • why do these movies always start and end in the winter time? It always ends on a depressing note. i'd like it better if it started and ended at the peak of spring.

  • Это просто шедевр. Завидую автору.

  • Great job, Eirik Solheim! ))

  • wonderful.. praise god.. :+)

  • This is so beautiful, again, thank you.

If Norway doesn't have the same complete insanity as the US, may I move there, pretty please?

I wish I had seen birds, but I suppose your photography moments made them fly away temporarily. ^_^

    Thank you.

  • 不错.

  • Congratulations!

  • how did you keep it going for one year straight?

  • It is simple. Special camera mounted in protected box. Every day 1 click and that's it.

  • wonderful , beautiful this person is a genius

  • really good, MUCH much better than "one year in 40 seconds"... i recommend "One year in 40 seconds Parody" that's funny

  • he would have taken many many many photographs, most likely one a day and chosen the ones in which the branches and leaves had not moved.

its pretty simple and very well done

    I know!

and how in Autumn the leaves don't gradually fall off, they go kinda see-through and yellow and then the front tree loses them all while the back keeps them

to think, 17 years of education and I had nature completely wrong

  • Brilliant video....i used your example to explain to my 7 year old boy of the changing 4 seasons.Your video opened his eyes and mind.Thankyou for posting

  • Nice another one !!! I always love it !!!

  • Absolutely stunnin'. Well put together, man. An' no sign of the wind torn polythene bag!! :D

  • Quel bonheur... La vie est la, heureusement que la nature nous le rappelle, merci pour ces images !

  • amazing things is none of the large branches chance position enough to notice any movement at all. its like no wind and no tree growth for a whole year

  • I know!

and how in Autumn the leaves don't gradually fall off, they go kinda see-through and yellow and then the front tree loses them all while the back keeps them

to think, 17 years of education and I had nature completely wrong

  • Yes mate, you did!! Diffrent species of trees get leaves an' lose them at different times, they dont all bloom then shed on the same day!!! 17 yrs of education?? I'd ask for my feckin' money back!! ;)

As i said, well "put together"

  • ummm, school cost nothing, well uni yeah :)

naa but come on, wouldn't the branches or atleast the leaves move throughout the year?

if you believe this then clearly you haven't had the same education

I'm saying, I've seen trees that half go, but this one loses all it's leaves at the same time (gradual opacity change) and the others do the same thing but later. shouldn't the leaves of gradually fell? where was the photo where a leaf is caught still falling?

  • um well im no expert really

but trees grow really slow when they get that size

    and in only a year

    i don't think a branch would do like a 180 spin

and im sure they did change a little

    you just can't tell

branches only change if they are lacking sunlight or w/e

so if the tree is fine how it is, branches don't need to move

and if it did, it probably made only minor changes to adjust for sunlight

so both you and squirrell down there should shut it

  • molto bello! bravissimo.

  • Life is so short...

    La vie est trop courte...

  • list nova :Dlol

  • yes

  • Mother Nature appears to know what she's doing.

  • One of the greatest videos in youtube :)

  • No day and night?

  • This is video is really something. Thank you so much, Eirik! It's a pity that the Norwegian director Morten Skallerud still haven't published on YouTube, because your film and "A Year Along the Abandoned Road" should be friends :-) Search YouTube for an unofficial copy of Morten's film. I'll let him watch yours, for sure!

  • Thank you for this. This is an awesome video.

  • Love this. Preferred your one year in 40 seconds, and after viewing it on Vimeo I downloaded it to my ps3 from your site. Very impressive.

  • Great! How do you get HD mode?

  • WOW HD is great! :D

  • that is so cool. Did you take a picture each day for a year?

  • cool

  • hey eirikso!

    nice pics!

    just one question...

how do you get such a got quality uploaded by youtube, without losing quality...

    how big was the video?

    cheers!

  • fake

    1 mistake

    trees grow branches

they just dont produce leaves........ erm?

  • pizzaking you're fucking retarded, why would anyone fake this? why dont you make a "real" one if you think this looks fake dumbass? i bet it would look exactly like this

  • How fast do you think branches grow? Can you see the ends of these trees to see if the branches are growing? Why call it fake if there are so many variables, just enjoy the beauty of the video...

    Absolutely stunning by the way

  • wtf??? pizzaking your an idiot

  • wow hard man Im scared -fool

  • i wasnt tryin to be hard, i was stating a fact -fool

  • I Swear 2 God Something jumps by on 1:41 on the bottom right! Yes i know my left and rights!!

  • your right, it looks like a bird, it apears in 3 frames in a row, well it isnt included in one

  • Hey but its 2:21 i guess it would sound better just saying 2 minutes

  • I liked seeing the leaves change colors

  • FANTASTIC !

    Great video. Real good work.

    Louise

  • beautiful.

    where were the pictures taken?

  • a forest in oslo

  • Thanks for sharing this. It's so beautiful.

  • Wow - that is some winter freeze!

  • Don't listen to critics! This is a soul stirring simple effect that soothes the mind and spirit.

  • Ok that's something what sixth graders do in science...

  • you're a bunch of wallies. He left the tripod out, or marked where the tripod should be each time, and just attached the camera to it each day.

Its not rocket science, yet it is dedicatation

  • but he did it, and you didn't. so just enjoy it cause it IS in fact beautiful.

  • 1:39

  • Very lovely! Well done!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:16 not 2 minnites but its amazing that you were able to film this but seriosly did you leave you camera out for a whole year or what

  • most admizing thing ever

  • he left a camera out for 1 year, didnt it loose battery, get mugged be an animal, or break from rain?

  • we live in XXI Century, wake up:)

  • nice work . im happy now !

  • fantastic! well done!!

  • It is as if all the plants and trees were heeding a dominical command, don the bejewelled garments produced by God's artistry, put on the decorations made by His Creative Power - flowers and fruit. The face of the earth then comes to represent a parade-ground on a splendid festive day, a magnificent parade brilliant with the uniforms and jewelled decorations of the soldiers.

  • hakangulerce. . .

    worst comment ever. . .

he took pictures . . .and its pretty. . .god done shit about it

  • what a fag!

  • i like how the trees go green

  • Oh my goodness some people on here need to read!!!!.. they're still images captured by camera at the same time on different days throughout the year!. Branches move slightly when leaves develop they dont always snap and fall off.. or twist and turn.. what are you all nature specialists?..sheesh..

    Fantastic work.. :)

    ~Donna.

  • Does anyone read descriptions anymore?

  • Ce document est excellent,j'aime beaucoup!

  • People who are ragging on it need to go to his website and read how he did it. It's not a full 365 day video, it is images taken manually from the same spot throughout the year. Since it is manual he uses photoshop to keep the trees and such in the same locations. It's images, not video! Understand?

  • He didn't make the video. go to PTBDIRECT(dot)(com) they are the ones who made it.

  • Say what? You are mistaken. Go to Eirik's website. He is the one who made it. PTB Direct is a financial firm. Geez, some people.

  • No, he's a lying jackass. Maybe it's PCB or something. It was ON MY YAHOO NEWS!!! THEY WONT GET THE WRONG ONE!!! This dude can burn in hell for all I care.

  • how do people imagine the sun doing down and rising 365 times in 2 minutes??? more than 3 times a second?? although some people here dont seem to be aware that sunset exists....

  • Er, guys... the uploader never claimed that this is a true timelapse video. (It's simply a series of still images spliced together, with some dissolve transitions)

If you read his description, you'll notice he says "IMAGES" - as in *photos* - He never mentions timelapse!

  • Even if this was fake, its still impressive.

  • god most of you are all pricks, if it is fake think he wanted to do it for art wise, dose look fake dont like the pixelated movment very anouing need to sort that out.

  • you're so obviously retarded its ridiculous

  • It sounds like someone using the gamecube controller from the back gorund music

  • While it is impressive work, you are presenting it as "images throughout the year",yet it does appear static other than the illusion of movement created by foliage changes.

  • So the sky was the same colour, as were the clouds for at least a week or so?

    Bullshit. It's photoblending.

  • Beautiful! I love it. I like this two minute video even better than the 40 second one. I blew it up to full screen and saw almost every detail. Almost a surreal feeling. Wonderfully done Eirik. Keep touching the soul.

  • Why all the negative criticism regarding technique? Can't you people just enjoy the video? As far as the postings are concerned, it seems to me that about 90% of the people who comment on YouTube should have failed English but probably didn't. As a veteran educator, I am sorry to report that I am familiar with the politics that contribute to this problem, but it would be foolish to pin the blame on only one cause. If you know your grammar is bad, then you know how to fix it. Please get help.

  • great but the 46 seconds is better

  • does anyone else see the letters "JAK" appear

around 2.02 between the right hand windows on the ground floor of the house? or am i as mad as my cellmate says i am?

    happy new one!

  • yeah..

  • hey do 1 year in 1 year

  • hahaha!

  • lol

  • I LOVE it!

I got on the computer and clicked on the internet and on yahoo, it had your video on there...and then it said "See the time-lapse video that's a Web sensation."

I thought it was pretty cool!

  • smae here!

  • I like your other version (in 46 secs.) better - but this is cool, tool. Is that the same house through the trees as in the other version??

  • so l can not fucking spell so fucking what

  • Well done! This is truly amazing how you capture all the seasons from the same spot.

    Happy New Year!

From your neighbours across the North Sea in England!

  • i love it but i think its pictures takin at the same point every week and the pictures fade in the other pictures to make it more effective :)

  • Very well done but its not actually images taken from a camera, its computer generated effects of a single image. Still very impressive though :)

  • im sure you would have run out of film during all that time, looks like trickery if you ask me!

  • o dear english master

  • You actually made no sense at all though.

  • just think we mankind as wiped meself out this will still go on on on on
