Not getting all the indispensable aminoacids from a diet sounds not physiological to me. A COMPLETE nutrition is a crucial matter for every form of life.. Its so obvious it shouldnt even had to be pointed. I dont know where vegans get ALL of the essential aminoacids needed in a diet if they dont eat chicken, red meat, fish or eggs. And if they arent getting them, it is clearly wrong.
Nutritional supplements come from animal products, so I don't think they fit the vegan logic.
The world's largest group of dietitians says vegans get all IAA's, just google for "ADA Position Paper Vegetarian Diets". They also note vegans live longer than average & stay healthier ntill an older age. MOST omnivorous Westerners have deficiencies & multivitamin is suggested no matter your diet.
Supplements (incl protein powders) come from plants too. Others (not protein powders) are assembled atom-by-atom, come from bacteria, etc.
Oh, nice to know. Yet I should read the documents to know the real depht and extent of the information, but I probably wont.
It does sound expensive, can regular mid-class people go vegan?
About the omnivorous deficiencies I think it is because regular people have terrible dietary habits. Junk food, too much bread, to much condiments. Each day we have younger diabetics. It's not a thing of being vegetarian or not. You just need a balanced diet, with or without meat in it.
Yes most vegans who I know = middle class, or lower... but what price ya wanna put on extra years of life (on average)? and staying mentally alert (e.g.lower Alzheimer's rates) & physical to ENJOY more of the yrs: Even skinny omni's were shown in 1 study I know of to die earlier (less early than "junk-tarians," but still).
Where u live? Then I probably can suggest some cheaper & good soyfoods or even restaurants: I've lived all over & even mailorder some of it.
ty but I still preffer to eat steak, hot dogs, hamburgers, eggs for breakfast, and enjoy many other pleasures as eating at friends houses, eating turkey at christmas, recive protein supplements at a hospital if I had an accident or a severe sickness, etc..
Besides I still think eating meat is healthy and not questionable at all, unless in excess of course, as everything in this world.
Everyone has a right to their own opinions (even if they refuse to even try soy-meats: i.e. willfully-ignorant opinion), but no right to dream up false "facts":
Meat IS eaten to "excess" (i.e. health impacts) by nearly all Western omnivores: that's not a matter of opinion or what anyone "thinks"--it's THOROUGHLY proven fact, we have firm data until an omni's diet is >90% vegan foods.
I say this as a bioscience researcher, RE: this part (health/LONGEVITY) of @andate's post.
Search for "Argumentum ad Naturam": what's natural isn't always ideal (for you, the animal & your environment).
Some animals eat others, but those we're closest to (apes, esp bonobos), most ape species eat ONLY insects (e.g. 1% of gorilla diet & all else is vegan): but I don't care if apes means that is "natural" for us too; care about scientific-proven results.

"If your not going to go vegan etleast admit that ignorance is no longer your excuse". I admit it, ignorance isn't my excuse, as vegans are the ignorant ones.
The industrial food industry is disgusting and what they do to the animals is horrendous, but that doesn't change the fact that we're omnivores and humans have made it this far primarily due to our ability to eat almost everything. While I do understand that it is possible to live your life perfectly well without eating meat, such was not the case for certain cultures throughout history. PS: Do you think a polar bear is a murderer?
I LOVE THIS SONG, its amazing, im a veggie, but i still wish people could love the song for being awsome as well as the messege ( which is also awsome)
Also, It is a wrong belief that animal food makes us stronger and healthier. The human physiology is for eating and digesting vegetarian food and is significantly different from meat-eating animals. Animal food is laced with fat, cholesterol, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics and similar harmful ingredients. Vegetarianism increases endurance and stamina, and makes people healthy and smart. Smart animals like elephants, cows, bulls, gorillas, horses, apes and most chimpanzees are all vegetarian.
@nash984954 So lions and hyenas are stupid according to your ''brilliant'' assumptions ?
I think you're the MEAThead around here, think about how smart CATS are ...and they FUCKING eat meat.
I like to eat plants AND herbivores so maybe one day, if food is scarce, I will have your fat hams on my plate, have you got a problem with that, mr lower in the foodchain?
Jainism is a religion that practices nonviolence and practictioners do not eat meat. Jains have reportedly been around since 5500 BC according to some sources, though there is an account of Mahavira founding Jainism around 550 BC, in Eastern India. So, for some to say meat is necessary to survive, they are wrong. The Jains have eaten leaves, vegetables and ripe fruits from the plants from either 5500 BC or at the very least 2550 years ago and they have survived quite well with good health.
@nash984954 Your claims about Jains are not precisely correct. Isotope analysis of Jain remains finds that they do indeed eat "meat." Most probably in the form of insect larvae and eggs in the fruits and vegetables they eat. The simple fact remains, biochemically, that humans require an exogenous source of B12. Less than 50 years ago, that meant meat or food contaminated with feces.
Google isotope analysis of traditionally vegetarian societies. Science. Not cults.
Sky news recently showed a pig slaughter house worker stubbing fags out on condemmed pigs heads, worse was to follow, he then started punching pigs ( and i mean PUNCH !) around the head as they awaited their death, much to the amusement of fellow workers. One pig was dragged to its death with a broken leg. What else goes on in these hell holes i dread to imagine. Enjoy your Mac D BLT, an animal went through hell for your tastebuds.
Oh my gosh... this guy is such an artist! Have any of you seen the video to this song? Yeah... of course you have! (lol) But boy oh boy is it hard to watch!
That's why I tell people at least keep kosher if you can't go directly without meat. But please... oh please do NOT contribute to the unholy deaths that the animals suffer in the meat-industry! It's disgusting what they do to the poor creatures!
We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried shit every day." - Morrissey
You have a choice whether to eat meat or not, you will not die if you dont eat it , if you choose to become vegatarian you will have to gain some basic nutritional needs, mainly in the B vitamin's and Iron group section, there is a variety of prepared foods available these days or learn to make your own meals from scratch, you learn a lot about nature, your bodliy needs and dont needs ! You will learn to respect life, your body, and enviromental matters as a consiquence of this simple choice.
If your not going to go vegan etleast admit that ignorance is no longer your excuse and that you dont give a shit about harming yourself and other living things. I've only been vegan for a short while, i used to argue the same arguments, put some time into researching this, if your a thinking man or woman, you will soon see the logic in not eating animal based products.
Bird flu, swine flu, BSE, MRSA are but a few strains that have manifested themselves due to intensive farming. Scientists state that the intensity of modern farming is likely to create (and has created) the most powerful strains of virus’s and is the biggest threat to the human race.
What would happen to the farmers if we all switched from an animal based diet to a plant based one? They would simply move to a more sustainable way of farming. Some may argue that the lack of livestock would destroy the countrysides identity, when in reality the reintroduction of diverse crops and orchards would encourage a bloom of wildlife, replenishing our countrysides in a very positive way. With diversity, comes habitat, comes wildlife.
The worlds population is currently 6.7billion, it will be 9billion by 2050. Even if our population stayed as it currently is, we would need 3 planets the size of earth to sustain western eating habits. Deforestation, scarcity of water, soil erosion, deforestation and pesticides are all negative effects caused by raising cattle, and growing the crops necessary to sustain them.
Global warming would be concluded overnight. As would water pollution, this includes our own drinking water sources which are currently being filled with dung, literally.
Milk, and therefore cheese and other associated products is 5-15% puss. Chicken meat of all farmed breeds, including free range and organic, are packed with saturated fats and low in the stuff they should be providing, such as protein. Fifteen kidney beans hold as much protein as a whole battery farmed chicken and 30 beans for RSPCA standard corn fed.
Humans have not evolved to eat meat, the only reason for eating meat was through territorial dominance over other tribes of primate. This was 0.5% of our diet. No animal products – no cholesterol, very little saturated fats, very little negative chemicals, a VERY DRAMATIC decrease in the chances of getting all cancers, heart disease, organ failures/infections, high blood pressure, signs of aging, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, deterioration of the brain and associated diseases.
#This succulent creature tastes good! This succulent creature tastes good!# Fuck veggies. Vegetarianism makes absolutely no logical sense and is unnatural for humans. And Morrissey is a pretentious wanker on a par with Bono.
@QWERTYOP80 "Unnatural for humans" ? Thats a new one on me. Admittedly on a vegatarian diet obesity, bowel cancer, high cholesterol problems are grealy reduced , but meat eaters dont seem to mind that incovenience which judging by people who choose to eat meat is regarded as natural, yep thats logic allright. "On par with Bono"? Know your really talking crap.
@permaveg I'm afraid i'm not talking crap, i'm talking fact. The human body is DESIGNED to eat meat. In all sorts of ways down to the type of acids found in the digestive system. These are not "stories made up by the meat industry" they're medical fact. So no, it's you and Mozza talking shit, not me. And of course his pretenciousness is on a par with Bono! If not surpassing it! This bellend preaches shit to people and stops performing if he can smell a burger. He's an utter wanker.
@QWERTYOP80 Why so many illnesses associated with meat eating then ? deny, deny, deny, any excuse is'nt it . Danielem8989 has put forward other reasons for not eating meat that concern the damaging effects on the enviroment caused by meat production, reason is wasted on your sort, so go on , stuff your hormone burgers into your empty head.
@permaveg "Empty head"? Yeah, putting forward valid reasons why being a veggie isn't natural for humans and explaining how the human body is designed to eat meat and contains features ONLY found in meat eating animals must mean I'M the one that's really empty headed. Enjoy your grass soup.
I'd be a vegetarian if animals didn't taste so damn good. Seriously, Morrissey needs to just fuck off the self righteous twat. Comparing the massacre in Norway to bloody KFC... What an absolute cunt.
everyone has a choice in this matter, and that choice is a personal decision that should be respected. if you eat meat, good. if you don't eat meat, good. but then you got those fuckers, that all day long they try and preach their belief system upon you. PISS OF AND DIE! I CHOOSE to eat meat, and you dont. lets go on with our merry lives.
This son of a bitch has stated that the mass murder of innocent people in Norway is nothing compared to the slaughter of animals. I have no respect whatsoever to this hypocritical scumbag.
Meat is not murder, meat is food. If we are not meant to eat meat it would kill us eating it. If a rabbit eats meat it dies, simply because its diggestive system can´t handle it. We are omnivores and are therefore able to eat allmost everything and it is because of this we are the most successful animal on earth.
But on the other hand: we dont need meat, we live a long and heathy life without it. So stop eating meat, the meat industry is killing the planet.
@Ragnash0 We can live without it, Fact, we choose to abuse and torture animals , Fact. So much energy and resources goes into the meat industry, so much pollution is caused by it and just to line some fat gits wallet and because some prick likes the taste of dead animals. I hope they enjoy there bowel cancer.
@permaveg It is true that we dont need meat and that the meat industry are destroying the envionment. But I dont think that we choose to abuse and torture animals. Eating meat is not the same as abusing and torturing.
@Ragnash0 Thats a bit of a contradiction isnt it ? Animals in a slaughter house are not treated with respect, only last week on Sky news footage was shown of a slaughter house worker stubbing fags out on live pigs heads, and punching him around the head , in another scene a pig with a broken leg is dragged by his ears to be killed ,other footage exists on a Bernard Matthews farm of workers throwing live birds up in the air as one hits them with a baseball bat, >
@Ragnash0 > these are caught on fim examples, what else goes on ? So how on earth do you come to the ill-informed conclusion that this does does not represent abuse or torture ? When you eat dead farm animals you have no idea what that poor creature went through just so you can stuff it into your face. when you buy meat and eat it your are the last part of an animals sad life that has endured abuse and torture, you are supporting and condoning this act by eating it, clear now ?
@permaveg You are supporting the abuse of the animals in the slaughter houses if you eat meat from farm animals and this is the reason why I dont eat meat. But I am not talking about meat produced in slaughter houses. I am talking about meat from animals that have lived a in the wild (or on a farm where the animals are taken care of properly. If such a place exist). An elk that has just been killed dont care if it was killed by a human hunter or a pack of wolves. Clear now?
@Ragnash0 I'm crystal clear about it, you seem a bit confused, "An elk that has just been killed dont care if it was killed by a hunter or a pack of wolves " ? Does'nt care ? I think you will find he might prefer NEITHER choice, not that i know the mind of an elk like you seem too, try checking what you've wrote before posting maybe? Clearer now.
@permaveg Of course the elk would prefer not to be killed, but that do not change the fact that it might get killed. Some animals eat other animals you know: Lions, tigers, wolves, hyenas, rats, cats, humans...
You might not know this but humans are natural meat eaters.
@Ragnash0 "humans are natural meat eaters"? the majority of meat consumed to day in supermarkets ( the biggest suppliers of meat to the masses) has very very little to do with the word "natural" unnatural is far more apt. You can survive and be very healthy with the choice of vegatarian foods available today, there is not one good logical reason for eating meat today, NOT ONE ok, its a choice , a lazy choice as well, admittedly veggies dont suffer obesity and bowel cancer like meaters >
@Ragnash0 > or have such problems as high cholesteral, but i can live (longer) without those problems. And have a clean concience and maintain ethical values. Clear as fog i expect to you.
@Ragnash0 Concerning the treatment of animals i thought i made that quite obvious in previous comments, i'm not repeating myself, read them again i suggest.
Moronssey is a hypocrite; he enjoys "eating" Latino cocks. And i read somewhere that he has leather seats in his car...isn't that a crime to animals???
Things have killed and been killed and eaten for millions of years, who is to say what is right and wrong, everything is relative and nothing makes true sense. Its just a view.
@jollierave Same thing goes for human torture, racism, pedophilia, slavery and so on. The difference today compared to years past is that we now acknowledge other animals as sentient and capable of suffering. As with Negros and children in the past few hundred years. Just because something 'always was like that', it's not enough to justify it's continued existence once we are able to understand new sides and angles.
You don't have to harm an animal to enjoy its dairy products -- many local, small-scale farm operations offer dairy products that are free of hormones, produced by animals who live full and healthy lives. Veganism is for the lactose intolerant and the irrational. Pick where you purchase your goods, and you've not supported any so-called evil.
Any farm, anywhere in the world, represents habitat that was destroyed. That equates killed and displaced animals (and displaced usually means starving). Every plow, plant and harvest cycle results in thousands of animal deaths per acre. The simple fact is the act of living in this world means that you, and every human, is responsible directly and indirectly for animal deaths.
They don't plow the land at dairy farms. Those are pastures with free roaming cattle/sheep/goats, and a a few structures. By your logic structures are murderous and the cattle are murdering smaller animals underfoot, as well as trampling and destroying possible habitat. Every animal, period, is responsible for other deaths. It is the essence of life on this Earth. Whales eat millions of krill, Buffalo trample over many acres of prairie, and so on. Not sure what your point is.
@meinLiebsterFeind As I said. I don't have a problem with it. Having grown up in agriculture, I am well aware of the deaths caused by ANY agriculture. Even grazing pastures represent land that would otherwise be fallow.
My point is the "morally superior" attitude of the vegans is an ignorant sham.
"murdering" Murder only applies to one human illegally killing another with malice aforethought. It is the animal rights idiots that try to apply that term to humans killing non-human animals.
Not only deaths caused by agriculture, but deaths caused merely by living. Organisms, feed off of other organisms, it is the trophic structure that life on Earth is built upon. Once, vegans become primary producers, that can float in dead-space, thus minimizing their impact on any other organism, I will respect their philosophy. It would be unwise for someone with such a flawed code of ethics to assume a stance of moral superiority!
@meinLiebsterFeind vegans aren't saying they have zero impact on other living things, but they commit a whoooooole lot less cruelty than people who eat animal products
@ThePrivateJoker as a farmer i can totally confirm what you have said. these vegans have no clue how the real world works most of the time. i must say, however, that some people are vegetarians because of the abuse in the INDUSTRY, so its a protest against that and not 'animal rights'.. by the way...humans are NOT the only animals that kill for sport. people should spend more time observing nature.
Ok, we all know by now that living vegetarian is a moderately fine life to live at the very very least and at the best it's absolutely revolutionary to your health. Either way, vegetarian or carnivor, this song is the most haunting song I have heard in a very very long time. It's absolutely stunningly powerful.
the fur trade is the worst, they are still alive when skinned in china, and morrissey has talked about the suffering of animals in Asian country's including dogs in Korea who are bled to death because apparently they taste better when their adrenalin kicks in... that's how sick they are.
@pickyantivirus Yes I know I’ve seen a video about it and its upset me so much that im still shaking now, =(
If the people that do things like that ever come to the realisation of what there doing they could never live with themselves, and they don’t know that there also killing themselves,
Humans are in denial of being animals themselves, the same like a dog or a cat or a deer,
@pickyantivirus And were taught by the media to believe in things that are not even truth, like in gods that somehow make us better then them, but its all lies, and its all just to make money out of ignorance.
@FalineWhiteTailDoe and i am a strong atheist with as they call it "far right" beliefs, a way of them saying "we dont like you because you hate Libdems, Labour And Torys"
@pickyantivirus Yeah I know, and the meat industry pays a lot of money to keep people in ignorance, but the good news is there are alot more people that care, then dont care,
It's not that complicated a matter, really. It may be true that humans are healthier on diets including meat, but that still isn't a great reason to kill OTHER animals. Nobody could be so hungry as to kill other animals besides humans just because they enjoy the taste. Maybe we will live a few more years, but the animals you kill are dead now. That's selfish and if that was every humans logical thoughts, we would all be cannibals. It's murder to an extreme point, and it shouldn't be "normal".
@fablawyer actually, that's not true. Vegans live longer, are less likely to suffer from obesity, cardiovascular illnesses, and to have cancer. Check it out...
(I had written an uberlong post to explain all that, but my stupid computer deleted it, so yeah, up to the point, sorry ^_^")
@ZipMeOff yeah its true! Im also a vegan and very healthy, the meat industry pays a lot of money into make it look like we are ment to eat meat, but its all lies,
This would make me vegetarian. I am a huge morrissey and smiths fan, but I can't listen to this song the full way through, it brings me to tears, but yeah, meat is just too tasty
I don't agree with animal cruelty but i don't see the problem with eating meat if animals are bred in humane conditions for the meat industry, plus we are omnivores so our bodies are built to eat meat and we need the protein
and before someone has a go at me, just remember that everyone is entitled to an opinion and like i respect those who r vegetarian you should respect me as a meat eater
@PeaceLemony Firstly, thank you for expressing your opinion in a respectful way. That's rare on Youtube.
Secondly, yes, we need protein, but you can perfectly get all your daily needs in protein through whole grain (bread, noodles, quinoa, etc), nuts and seeds, dark green leafy vegetables, etc. It's not difficult *at all*.
Thirdly, and here I'm assuming you are like the majority of people, almost all the meat you certainly eat is *not* coming from animals that lived in humane conditions. True?
@ZipMeOff Yeah your right, we can get protein from various foods not just meat, i supppose all i can say is i'm a selfish person because i have to admit one of the main reasons i eat meat is because i love the taste of it, however i only buy free range meat so it comes from a decent place (or at least i hope so)
Oh and don't you just love this song, i'd never even heard of the smiths before but they're pretty cool :D
@PeaceLemony yes, it's an intoxicating song, I can't seem to get enough of it.
As for your meat eating habits, at least you buy free range. It's not something I would do, but it's a bit more ethical for the animals.
I used to adore meat, seriously, I had quite a reputation in my family. But for environmental, ethical and health reasons, I decided that it just wasn't worth it. It wasn't even a sacrifice; I've discovered so many foods and recipes I'd never tried... I don't regret the least bit :)
@PeaceLemony yes you're right to your opinion, but you are led to believe and even talk in the same language the meat industry want you to use so they can continue to make money on the suffering of innocent animals. "humane conditions" for later murder, what the hell does that mean? meat is murder, whether you like it or not, whether you use euphemistic language or not.
@danielghost Fair enough mate, but I only buy free range meat so I know that it's been bred in the fields rather than those awful battery farms and I also try to buy organic meat as much as possible so I know that it hasn't been given any sort of artificial drugs etc...I thoroughly enjoy being a meat eater but at least I've made a compromise in terms of being as ethical as possible with my choice ;)
@PeaceLemony hi, just because you like to make excuses and do a bit more than other meat eaters, doesnt justify murder lol. Heres the deal, I dont care if you eat meat, just dont say "everyone else who eats meat is bad cause they dont do it the way I do it" thats really, really, really, really, really, stupid
@theoldways11 Yep I understand where you're coming from mate, but surely my choice of minimising suffering of an animal's life before it's eventual death is a lot more ethical than just eating any meat regardless of the way the animal was treated in its life
course the downside is it's more expensive which is why people don't usually opt for it but personally paying the extra is fine by me...but hey like i've said before and i'll say it again, it's each to their own so live and let live
Listen to the lyrics and how he sings them. Think about these animal, these beings, with their eyes filled with fear and terror, living every day of their lives like in the worst horror film imaginable. Pigs screaming like children, trying to flee. It's a horror show, that's why they hide it from us, that's why they never allow cameras in these slaughterhouses and factory farms. Because it is an NC-17 movie. But these animals LIVE THIS REALITY. Try to fucking imagine! Just for a minute!
@hollyfoxx97 You'll pay for it. Nothing comes without a price -- especially when it comes to taking someone's life or having someone take it for you -- and you'll pay for it. The darkness of the culture of raising and slaughtering of other living beings for food -- it will inhabit your body, your mind, your being. You think you can get away with just that temporary "pleasure" of eating the cooked animal on your plate? You wish.
@hollyfoxx97 But that's just plain immoral. You might as well make the same argument for cannibalism, or murder. Just replace the word meat with human flesh.
@hollyfoxx97 No, you said that because animals eat other animals, we, being animals, have the right to eat other animals.
My point was that just because other animals without our sophisticated brains do something, doesn't mean it's right for us to do it.
"just because we don't need meat, doesn't mean that we CAN'T necessarily eat it, therefore i will continue to eat meat, because i like it, and because i can."
That's like saying, "I will continue to murder, because I can."
@hollyfoxx97 That's like saying that because some animals are cannibalistic (and they do exist) we should be cannibals too.
Or that because no animal has organized political structures, governments, constitutions, rights, and a complex social web, we shouldn't either.
We have consciences. We don't need meat- this is a fact supported by years of research and by almost every and any nutritionist. It is senseless to perpetuate suffering.
@bartl1 really? cause it seems like only cave men eat meat and also yes there is! A fucking good tasting VEGGIE BURGER!!! they're the best.... better than bloody, gross meat!
@zombiejay101 I'm a smoker, drinker and a carnivore. I like this simple pleasures and i think that veggies, abstinents and all this "live healthy" freaks are simply very, very sad and boaring people.
@bartl1 well i see you don't know how to spell cause it's boring... and a carnivore is a person or animal that only eats meat... i think you eat other things too than just meat. also i don't do it to live healthy it's cause i don't want to eat an animal. also you think we veggie heads don't smoke or do shit, well i like to smoke drink and do alot of other fun shit just cause i don't eat meat doesn't mean i'm boring.
The day people stop butchering animals is the same day they stop butchering each other.....the capacity to do such things is among animals as well.....so there is a deeper issue here......makes for a good "cause" though.....hits all the emotional chords just right.
@ApexBozo Oh...Please dont misunderstand me.....I just am finishing a bowl of pasta and meat sauce.....Im not a vegan or anything like that.....Im hoping the day comes when the Living God set's it aright, till then, there will be no stopping the natural flow of things.......
@TheBassplayah I'm almost pure carnivore and I just like this song because it's by Morrissey. But yes, saying people are murderers for eating meat is backwards. Most every living creature on this planet eats both meat and vegetation.
@Lecole89 I am very much the same as you. We eat a mostly vegetarian diet and it is hard to give up meat altogether. It's even harder though to explain/defend convincingly to a 6 year old why we kill animals to eat. I can't do it and we are healthier & fitter & happier without meat. Kind of says it all for us really.
''MEAT IS TASTY'' YEAH AND IT'S ALSO KILLING YOUR BODY BECAUSE WE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO CONSUME ANIMALS. HAS ANYONE SAYING ''MEAT IS GOOD'' WATCHED EARTHLINGS?
I have nothing against or any judgements for people who do eat meat, but I am not one of them. I like this song but I can see how it could anger some people. I've only just begun my life without meat, well, kind of; two years, but that's nothing compared to some people. I became a vegetarian for myself, I think it's right for some and wrong for others, but it is death for animals. It depends on your perspective.
the spices in meat are tasty. Try to eat meat from a dead animal, which was killed in from of you. Thats why the soya products (or other from plant protein) have the same taste as the meat products ,-)
I'm not a vegetarian. But I am trying to eat better with as little or no meat as possible. It is hard to just stop eating meat, it does take time. But I think more people should try. This song is beautiful. I honestly never thought of meat as murder. I started paying attention to what I eat, and I am learning a lot. This song cuts to the core.
I love Morrissey, but he's wrong on this subject. This song damn near ruined the MEAT IS MURDER album. Treat animals humanely, then kill them humanely.
Vegans, who are often liberals, are put in the awkward position of standing for the rights of innocent animals and yet defending the slaughter of innocent unborn humans (who are at the very least animals). I believe it is a matter of forcing yourself to live up to the label of being progressive, even if you must defy all logic. I'm a long time vegan, animal rights activist, and pro-lifer though, and there are many like me.
This song is right. Meat IS murder. Animals shouldn't have to die for humans. I am vegetarian.

Don't you think it's natural to eat an animal? animal do it all the time. They have the enzymes to benefit from food, the just go and eat it.
PS: in my native language "Amino Acid" is used in one word, im used to read it that way. Thats why I used it as one word.
andatealatrucha 1 month ago
@andate

The Jains have eaten leaves, vegetables and ripe fruits from the plants from either 5500 BC or at the very least 2550 years ago and they have survived quite well with good health.
nash984954 4 months ago
@nash984954 Your claims about Jains are not precisely correct. Isotope analysis of Jain remains finds that they do indeed eat "meat." Most probably in the form of insect larvae and eggs in the fruits and vegetables they eat. The simple fact remains, biochemically, that humans require an exogenous source of B12. Less than 50 years ago, that meant meat or food contaminated with feces.
Google isotope analysis of traditionally vegetarian societies. Science. Not cults.

Bird flu, swine flu, BSE, MRSA are but a few strains that have manifested themselves due to intensive farming. Scientists state that the intensity of modern farming is likely to create (and has created) the most powerful strains of virus’s and is the biggest threat to the human race.
DanielEM8989 5 months ago

Ragnash0 6 months ago
@Ragnash0 We can live without it, Fact, we choose to abuse and torture animals , Fact. I hope they enjoy there bowel cancer.
permaveg 6 months ago
@permaveg It is true that we dont need meat and that the meat industry are destroying the envionment. But I dont think that we choose to abuse and torture animals. Eating meat is not the same as abusing and torturing.
Ragnash0 6 months ago
@Ragnash0 Thats a bit of a contradiction isnt it ? Animals in a slaughter house are not treated with respect, only last week on Sky news footage was shown of a slaughter house worker stubbing fags out on live pigs heads, and punching him around the head , in another scene a pig with a broken leg is dragged by his ears to be killed ,other footage exists on a Bernard Matthews farm of workers throwing live birds up in the air as one hits them with a baseball bat, >
permaveg 6 months ago
@Ragnash0 > these are caught on fim examples, what else goes on ? So how on earth do you come to the ill-informed conclusion that this does does not represent abuse or torture ? When you eat dead farm animals you have no idea what that poor creature went through just so you can stuff it into your face. when you buy meat and eat it your are the last part of an animals sad life that has endured abuse and torture, you are supporting and condoning this act by eating it, clear now ?
permaveg 6 months ago
@permaveg You are supporting the abuse of the animals in the slaughter houses if you eat meat from farm animals and this is the reason why I dont eat meat. But I am not talking about meat produced in slaughter houses. I am talking about meat from animals that have lived a in the wild (or on a farm where the animals are taken care of properly. If such a place exist). An elk that has just been killed dont care if it was killed by a human hunter or a pack of wolves. Clear now?
Ragnash0 6 months ago
@Ragnash0 I'm crystal clear about it, you seem a bit confused, "An elk that has just been killed dont care if it was killed by a hunter or a pack of wolves " ? Does'nt care ? I think you will find he might prefer NEITHER choice, not that i know the mind of an elk like you seem too, try checking what you've wrote before posting maybe? Clearer now.
permaveg 6 months ago
@permaveg Of course the elk would prefer not to be killed, but that do not change the fact that it might get killed. Some animals eat other animals you know: Lions, tigers, wolves, hyenas, rats, cats, humans...
You might not know this but humans are natural meat eaters.
Clear now?
Ragnash0 6 months ago
@Ragnash0 "humans are natural meat eaters"? the majority of meat consumed to day in supermarkets ( the biggest suppliers of meat to the masses) has very very little to do with the word "natural" unnatural is far more apt. You can survive and be very healthy with the choice of vegatarian foods available today, there is not one good logical reason for eating meat today, NOT ONE ok, its a choice , a lazy choice as well, admittedly veggies dont suffer obesity and bowel cancer like meaters >

@jollierave Same thing goes for human torture, racism, pedophilia, slavery and so on. The difference today compared to years past is that we now acknowledge other animals as sentient and capable of suffering. As with Negros and children in the past few hundred years. @OneMoreVegan No thanks. I believe in a balanced diet that doesn't require artificial supplements.
And if you think you have moral superiority being vegan, how do you justify the animals YOU kill?
USSBN734 3 months ago
@USSBN734
You don't have to harm an animal to enjoy its dairy products -- many local, small-scale farm operations offer dairy products that are free of hormones, produced by animals who live full and healthy lives. Veganism is for the lactose intolerant and the irrational. Pick where you purchase your goods, and you've not supported any so-called evil.
meinLiebsterFeind 2 months ago
@meinLiebsterFeind You don't harm animals directly, is what you mean.
I am at peace with that.
USSBN734 2 months ago 2
@USSBN734
Not sure what your point is.
meinLiebsterFeind 2 months ago
@meinLiebsterFeind As I said. I don't have a problem with it. Having grown up in agriculture, I am well aware of the deaths caused by ANY agriculture. Even grazing pastures represent land that would otherwise be fallow.
My point is the "morally superior" attitude of the vegans is an ignorant sham.
"murdering" Murder only applies to one human illegally killing another with malice aforethought. It is the animal rights idiots that try to apply that term to humans killing non-human animals.
USSBN734 2 months ago
@USSBN734

I don't agree with animal cruelty but i don't see the problem with eating meat if animals are bred in humane conditions for the meat industry, plus we are omnivores so our bodies are built to eat meat and we need the protein
and before someone has a go at me, just remember that everyone is entitled to an opinion and like i respect those who r vegetarian you should respect me as a meat eater
xx
PeaceLemony 1 year ago 2
@PeaceLemony Firstly, thank you for expressing your opinion in a respectful way. That's rare on Youtube.
Secondly, yes, we need protein, but you can perfectly get all your daily needs in protein through whole grain (bread, noodles, quinoa, etc), nuts and seeds, dark green leafy vegetables, etc. It's not difficult *at all*.
Thirdly, and here I'm assuming you are like the majority of people, almost all the meat you certainly eat is *not* coming from animals that lived in humane conditions. True?
ZipMeOff 1 year ago
@ZipMeOff Yeah your right, we can get protein from various foods not just meat, i supppose all i can say is i'm a selfish person because i have to admit one of the main reasons i eat meat is because i love the taste of it, however i only buy free range meat so it comes from a decent place (or at least i hope so)
Oh and don't you just love this song, i'd never even heard of the smiths before but they're pretty cool :D
PeaceLemony 1 year ago
@PeaceLemony yes, it's an intoxicating song, I can't seem to get enough of it.
As for your meat eating habits, at least you buy free range. It's not something I would do, but it's a bit more ethical for the animals.
I used to adore meat, seriously, I had quite a reputation in my family. But for environmental, ethical and health reasons, I decided that it just wasn't worth it. It wasn't even a sacrifice; I've discovered so many foods and recipes I'd never tried... I don't regret the least bit :)
ZipMeOff 1 year ago
@PeaceLemony yes you're right to your opinion, but you are led to believe and even talk in the same language the meat industry want you to use so they can continue to make money on the suffering of innocent animals. "humane conditions" for later murder, what the hell does that mean? meat is murder, whether you like it or not, whether you use euphemistic language or not.
danielghost 1 year ago
@danielghost Fair enough mate, but I only buy free range meat so I know that it's been bred in the fields rather than those awful battery farms and I also try to buy organic meat as much as possible so I know that it hasn't been given any sort of artificial drugs etc...I thoroughly enjoy being a meat eater but at least I've made a compromise in terms of being as ethical as possible with my choice ;)
PeaceLemony 1 year ago
@PeaceLemony hi, just because you like to make excuses and do a bit more than other meat eaters, doesnt justify murder lol. Heres the deal, I dont care if you eat meat, just dont say "everyone else who eats meat is bad cause they dont do it the way I do it" thats really, really, really, really, really, stupid
theoldways11 10 months ago
@theoldways11 Yep I understand where you're coming from mate, but surely my choice of minimising suffering of an animal's life before it's eventual death is a lot more ethical than just eating any meat regardless of the way the animal was treated in its life
course the downside is it's more expensive which is why people don't usually opt for it but personally paying the extra is fine by me...but hey like i've said before and i'll say it again, it's each to their own so live and let live

mapzzz 1 year ago
@hollyfoxx97 The fact that you can, means nothing. We have morals.
linkman226 1 year ago
@hollyfoxx97 No, you said that because animals eat other animals, we, being animals, have the right to eat other animals.
My point was that just because other animals without our sophisticated brains do something, doesn't mean it's right for us to do it.
"just because we don't need meat, doesn't mean that we CAN'T necessarily eat it, therefore i will continue to eat meat, because i like it, and because i can."
That's like saying, "I will continue to murder, because I can."

I'm praying morrisey ends up being devoured by one of those beautiful creatures of the carnivorous variety; the smug, sanctimonious git.

@bartl1 And some assholes like you just live to talk crap...
Jobyperry 1 year ago
@bartl1 wow really original i've never heard that before... wat an idiot!
zombiejay101 1 year ago
@zombiejay101 It doesn't need to be original. It is just a fact. our evoltion started to speeding up when we starded eating meat.
And simply is there anything better for dinner than well prepared good meat?!
bartl1 1 year ago
@bartl1 really? cause it seems like only cave men eat meat and also yes there is! A fucking good tasting VEGGIE BURGER!!! they're the best.... better than bloody, gross meat!
zombiejay101 1 year ago
@zombiejay101 I'm a smoker, drinker and a carnivore. I like this simple pleasures and i think that veggies, abstinents and all this "live healthy" freaks are simply very, very sad and boaring people.
bartl1 1 year ago
@bartl1 well i see you don't know how to spell cause it's boring... and a carnivore is a person or animal that only eats meat... i think you eat other things too than just meat. also i don't do it to live healthy it's cause i don't want to eat an animal. also you think we veggie heads don't smoke or do shit, well i like to smoke drink and do alot of other fun shit just cause i don't eat meat doesn't mean i'm boring.
zombiejay101 1 year ago
The day people stop butchering animals is the same day they stop butchering each other.....the capacity to do such things is among animals as well.....so there is a deeper issue here......makes for a good "cause" though.....hits all the emotional chords just right.
TheBassplayah 1 year ago 30
@TheBassplayah I guess nature is yours and morrisey's intellectual inferior.
ApexBozo 1 year ago
@ApexBozo Oh...Please dont misunderstand me.....I just am finishing a bowl of pasta and meat sauce.....Im not a vegan or anything like that.....Im hoping the day comes when the Living God set's it aright, till then, there will be no stopping the natural flow of things.......
TheBassplayah 1 year ago
@TheBassplayah I'm almost pure carnivore and I just like this song because it's by Morrissey. But yes, saying people are murderers for eating meat is backwards. Most every living creature on this planet eats both meat and vegetation.

BarticusCubbins 1 year ago

BarticusCubbins 1 year ago
@BarticusCubbins I wonder the very same question
Jobyperry 1 year ago
I have nothing against or any judgements for people who do eat meat, but I am not one of them. I like this song but I can see how it could anger some people. I've only just begun my life without meat, well, kind of; two years, but that's nothing compared to some people. I became a vegetarian for myself, I think it's right for some and wrong for others, but it is death for animals. It depends on your perspective.
veggienotcow2110 1 year ago
he makes some good points. but meat is tasty.
DJHandel 1 year ago
@DJHandel
the spices in meat are tasty.

Lecole89 1 year ago
@Lecole89 THAT'S ONE OF THE MORE INTELLIGENT AND HONEST WAYS OF LOOKING AT THIS
BarticusCubbins 1 year ago
I love Morrissey, but he's wrong on this subject. This song damn near ruined the MEAT IS MURDER album. Treat animals humanely, then kill them humanely.
burns46824 1 year ago
@burns46824 you can kill something humanely? LOL. I guess the act of murdering or killing isn't inhumane?
ps idiot

just curious........how can one be anti-meat and not be anti-abortion??
helpmeifucann 1 year ago
@helpmeifucann
