theres a commercial one its like 150 bucks but you can get it cheaper on amazon, like everything else. its voice activated and you can make it do pretty anything by saying "hey r2" and using the preset commands.... i think theres 50. there are even some hidden ones that arent very well known that r funny. it doesnt look as realistic tho, butits made of plastic and it still looks like the real thing.

Yup, it went in the gutter.  We tried twice, the first time the ball didn't even make it all the way down the lane (you can see it in the gutter in this video). R2 needs more practice. A lot more.

It can be expensive to build an R2, but some have done it for under $1,000. It's free to join the club, see the "R2 Builders" group on Yahoo, and/or astromech (dot) net, free blueprints are available on the Yahoo site.

There is no minimum age to join the club, but kids under 16 should probably have an adult helping them. I'd guess most club members are in their 30s and 40s, with a few high school students in the club as well.

Well, this one I built myself. There is an R2 Builders group on Yahoo Groups. Sideshow Collectibles sells one that doesn't move around for around $5000.

1 year, 10 months and 17 days (July 2005 - May 2007). I worked on it almost every weekend and most weeknights, it was like having a second job.
