  • Your Youtube fans are waiting patiently...

  • @Clarkstuff: I DID find an original here, finally. And yeah, I do know that. Steve Stanchfield is the man! He restored the SNAFUs from their original 35mm negatives. They look amazing!

  • my grandpa gave me this on vhs!! wow!!!

  • I have this cartoon and it was from a VHS of "Porky Pig" from Star Classics which I got at Goodwill earlier today, this cartoon did have the wrong intro, but they put a 1940's "Merrie Melodies" title instead of "Looney Tunes", that was weird, And then prior to that, it has the SMPTE Universal leader film countdown. This cartoon was from 1937, but the main titles are from 1943.

  • @HomeoftheGoodGuys

It's strange how there so many different "cuts" of these remakes. On my video, this one begins with an uncut, un-muted Looney Tunes opening (the 1942-44 version).

One thing I've always wondered is what opening that is at the beginning of Ali Baba Bound on all these old videos. My best guess is that it's a SUPER faded version of the 1948 orange-on-blue opening, but it's hard to say. (Plastering the 1955 music over it is just another layer of weird)

  • @Marbles471 My copy of "Porky Pig" from DEC had the wrong opening and closing from "Porky's Bear Facts" which contains the abstract W7 titles from 1967-69 plastered over the 1941 "Looney Tunes" theme instead of the William Lava's version. That was strange. "The Timid Toreador" is missing the opening and the end title got plastered with the "That's all folks!" ending from 1961-64. That was kinda mixed up.

  • @HomeoftheGoodGuys was it the original version or this sloppy redrawn version?

  • 3:21...funniest shit ever

  • Ugggh, the redrawn version. I haven't seen the original in years. Why is that so hard to obtain?

  • @baxterfilms I actually found a DVD that shows the ORIGINAL version of this short! It's called "Return of the 30's Characters" by Thunderbean. You can get it on Amazon

  • I have this on a VHS. It's part of the Bugs bunny volume. The only difference is mine is in Color.

  • 1:31

"Step right over here gentlemen. That's it, right over here and behold the greatest investment opportunity since the Brooklyn Bridge was sold to a farmer." HAHAHA XD

  • Shoot, you put Merrie Melodies cartoon in the place of Looney Tunes, they should have a Looney Tunes cartoon original version.

  • Go fuck yourself.

  • This is actually a VHS tape that began with this, then Ali Baba Bound, Porky's Railroad and Porky Pig's Feat. The proof is 0:04 having no sound.

  • ...damn!...You're good! =)

  • I have that tape too!

  • Nice!

  • @wileyk209zback Me too! :D

  • @Midnaswolf47 Hey! I actually bought that tape from eBay and I watched it yesterday! It's from Kids Klassics (1987)

  • @clarkstuff

Is that the one that also has Porky's Railroad?

  • @doddsino yes, it does. it has get rich quick porky, ali baba bound, porky's railroad and porky pig's feat

  • @Midnaswolf47 oh, and by the way, the sound at the beginning during the merrie melodies logo is muted, too, like u said. I have no idea why they did that

BTW- I think that this is a redrawn version that was reposed into b/w. I can tell because of the quality and because the iris out at the end is to gray and not black. am I right?

  • @clarkstuff I'd say so. The drawings sometimes "shudder" as if done in a hurry. At points you also see jerky motions as if they skipped too many frames.

  • can you upload porky's hare hunt?

  • I don't have it. =(

  • Thanks this was a classic

  • Good stuff, eh?
