Much like Americans were fervent in their patriotism after 9/11, or Serbs were nationalistic after the assassination of Ferdinand, so where Germans after their maltreatment at Versailles. @superschirpi Nein, die Wehrmacht war und ist im Hinblick auf ihr relative Kampfkraft, Kampfmoral, Ausrüstung und nicht zuletzt ihrer Treue die beste Truppe aller Zeiten. Man kann niemanden vorwerfen an den Nationalsozialismus geglaubt zu haben oder sein Vaterland gegen feindliche Armeen zu verteidigen. Im NS waren die Deutschen GLÜCKLICH... die Verbrechen der SS und Hitlers kamen ja in ihrem Umfang erst viel später ans Tageslicht.

Eine "beste Armee aller Zeiten" gibt es nicht und kann es nicht geben. Die Wehrmacht war zu ihrer Zeit sicher eine der besten Armeen der Welt. Really great music. Really gives me shivers (although a pretty simple piece). I love this 'mix' way more than the other (i didnt knew there were 2 at all). This has more of those industrial sounds, which make it really fit to the coldness of the movie and boat. Also that certain beep you hear in the background that represents the boat works great!

By the way there really was a U-boat commander, when received by Hitler as a hero of the country in a dinner, told Hitler straight in the face how Hitler neglected the submarines (can;t remember the reason being the strategies or supplies).

Schau ihn Dir an - unbedingt sogar! Der Film ist zwar echt bitter aber wahrscheinlich der beste Film den das deutsche Kino je hervor gebracht hat. Absolut sehens- und hörenswert! Es gibt ihn auch auf DVD mit überarbeitetem Sound. Die Explosionen blasen einen echt von der Fensehcouch - wirklich enorm!

In vielen Filmen werden die deutschen Soldaten des 2 Weltkriegs als absolut böse dar gestellt dieser Film zeigt das auch die deutschen nur normale Menschen sind mit ängsten und Gefühlen und im Krieg muß man halt kämpfen!
