  • hey dude how do i put my phone in recovery mod ? i have my touch Q c800 V

  • Can I do that on the Zte warp from boost mobile?

  • I done this and now my YouTube won't work....

  • that kernel made my phone tweak with little black lines. I am going back to my previous ROM cm7.1

  • @MrCord13 the kernel did the same thing to me and im using cm7 but when i used my stock rom it worked great until my phone crashed and wouldnt come back on ended up unrooting and rerooting never used this kernel again til now but im bout to unflash it and just get a 1/8 inch audio cord to run from my phone to my tv so i can use my hdmi and have sound

  • @aharris031 ok

  • i just wanted to let you know i love how easy it was to follow ur instrutions it works great ty for this im a busy woman need my phone all day this is so much better then it dyin every five minutes

  • im not sure what happened. Everything works according to the video BUT my camera flash no longer works. How do i undo what was done on this video?? get my phone back to stock? Help please

  • my phone wont turn on now....

  • @london1101 did you ever get your phone to turn back on i went to reset mine and now it wont boot past the white htc evo 4g screen

  • @aharris031 I did get my phone to turn back on.

  • @london1101 i got mine to turn back on ended up having to unroot it to get it back but i was able to reroot it and i have flash serveral roms since then love it only issue im having now is no sound with my hdmi trying to fix that

  • hey i have a secret 4u key to battery saving is to turn ur mobile network off i get outstanding battery life by using it as i need it on my evo4g ive gone 2days and 18hrs with out charging

  • @dbl8923 GENIUS! There's a slight problem though. Why have a smartphone if you're not going to use the internet? Go get yourself a nokia flip phone if you just need it for talk and text

  • @pandafloski i doubt he meant as a permanent solution. i use this method by turning it off when not needed and turning it on when needed, wait that's what he said he does; "i get outstanding battery life by using it as i need it on my evo4g". i have a notification widget that toggles it easily.

  • WHen I go to the kernal on the recovery thing it says no files found. Can you help with that. Thanks.

  • @grtp001 what do you mean no files found? You said you went to the kernel. Make sure you don't unzip it

  • @pandafloski This is what I'm doing. tell me if anythinig is wrong. I click on netarchy-toastmod-cfs-havs-nosbc-universal and it takes me to a download page and it downloads. I click the download and it comes up with three files. Kernel, MATA-INF, and system. I drag kernel to the SD Card and add it as a root. Then I go to choose zip file in sd card in the revovery thing and go to kernal and choose it . Then it says no files found. How would I unzip the file? Thanks.

  • @pandafloski Test

  • I download the netarchy-toastmod and three files come up. I drag kernal to the SD card and put it on as a root. Then I do the steps to get to the choose zip file on the recovery thing. I choose kernal and "no files found" shows at the bottom. Am I doing something wrong? How would I open the zip file. Thanks.

  • @grtp001 you're unzipping it at some point then if it's extracting the files out

  • One thing that may help, is that I put on the cyanogenmod 7 rom in that time too and maybe it doesn't support tethering? Most people say it doesn't so if that is the case, how can I transfer to another rom like cyanogenmod nightly?

  • for some reason after I did this, my wireless tether stopped working and it said that it started with errors, but when I used the tether yesterday before I did this, it worked fine, what do you think the problem is?

  • i did all the things that you instructed, however i still only have 2 hours and 10 minutes of battery on my evo 4g with 70% batter remaining, what went wrong?

  • @AslanitheLion sometimes it's hit or miss, but I wouldn't be upset with the ~9 hours you're on pace for

  • Comment removed

  • good info I tryed it and works great i get good battery life . just wondering were did you get the transparent theme?

  • I went through all the steps again still not working.....plzzzz help..

  • great thanks man, but theres one thing thats irriatating me sooo much....after i did this theres like these glitchy-type that appears up top in the notification bar...idk its hard to explain haha

  • @jes22234 I know what you're talking about, and I'm not sure what causes it. It might be your kernel

  • @pandafloski THE COLONEL!

  • @jes22234 yeah i tired deleting the kernal and tried downloading a new one but i couldnt figure out how! do you think you can inbox me or something on how to delete the kernal?? thank you!

  • And dude you got to tell me the app that lets you have the home page go into landscape mode please!!!!!!

  • And when the rooting process began, did you install the drives from the unrevoked website. b/c i didnt and i just wanted to know if that will affect anything.

  • Hey i rooted my HTC Evo from your other video, and then i found this 1 and when i go to the kernal website it says that 404 page not found. is there another site that has these kernals? also which kurnal did you download?

  • The link isn't working, when I click to download it nothing happens. PLEASE HELP!

  • Can I not use my market to download aps now??? its not working.

  • The Evo won't boot into ClockworkMod Recovery. It only goes into normal recovery mode. HELP please.

  • @furtle21 You have to have it rooted first...

  • @pandafloski It is rooted, I used your video to root it too.

  • @furtle21 Weird. Download ROM Manager, flash clockworkmod through that

  • @pandafloski Eh. I fixed it. I did have ClockworkMod Recovery. Just wasn't working. I Un-installed updates, worked but, battery is still shittt.... Like 12 hours barely using it. Should I calibrate it?

  • BULLSHIT

  • hey, thanks for the video. it was really helpful and very understanding in your steps. i was wondering why those two were not working and turned out to be the kernel. thanks for your help and i appreciate your video.

  • hey, thanks for the video. it was really helpful and very understanding in your steps. i was wondering why those two were not working and turned out to be the kernel. thanks for your help and i appreciate your video.

  • what do you have you off frequency set on?

  • which kernal should i use on me rooted evo?

  • What ROM do you have?

  • What ROM do you have?

  • @Frostyatwvu

where do i find out which ROM I have?

  • What ROM do you have?

  • Which kernel you use the havs or no havs?

  • OMG! MY BATTERY LIFE IS THE SICKEST NOW!!!!

I'm currently flashing mikfroyo 4.5, I couldn;t get OW to hold settings so I tried cpu master it seems to work very well with Netarchy 4.3.1 kernels.

I hadn't even fully chraged the phone when i first did this and still it lasted 12.5 hrs!!!!

If you haven't done this yet what the hell are you waiting for!!!!!!

  • Hey i dont like how my Cyanogen Mod 7 is goin on my EVO.

Its brand new, flashed today, rooted yesterday..

I want to get back to MY sense UI.

    Any help?

Fast reply is greatly appreciated :D

  • wut rom are u using on or evo and where can i get it

  • How do i know which kernel to download? i just rooted my new evo 4g. :O

  • So i did this and your right. SICK Battery life! However, I lost my usb connection from phone to cpu after the fact. It will only charge now. thoughts?

    Here's the details:

    USB Debugging is enabled.

Phone is set to ask for connection type (default is disk drive).

Phone charges when plugged into the PC but the computer doesn't recognize it.

In the notification bar, there is the usb debugging icon, but not the other one that usually says charge only/disk drive, etc.

    ADB doesn't see the phone.

  • @frohoss I had this problem come up too in a completely different incident. The only fix I was able to find was download "Widgetsoid" from the market (similar to extended controls) and make a widget for toggling USB storage and use that

  • @pandafloski thanks for the reply. i ended up having to flash my rom again to get usb back. also, after i flash Netarchy's kernel. i get lined in the notification bar and in my dock tray. any fixes there? i've tried 3 of the 4 kernels....all with the same results.

  • @frohoss might be a problem with your phone's hardware

  • Okay I did everything that you said, does the longer battery life go into effect after you allow the battery to drain or immediately after following your steps.

  • thanks for the guide. App you use for the clock please on your homescreen

  • if i mailed you my evo would you do all this for me?

  • @erickson1814 I would never let you mail your evo to me, that's a horribly unsafe thing to do man!

  • @pandafloski gah my battery last like 6hrs on it lol..

  • @erickson1814 seems like you did it wrong then

  • what rom are you using right there? is it 4g enabled?

  • @ninh007 gingerbread CM7 ROM, no 4G, but sprint's 4G is so awful anyway

  • @pandafloski actually, now it's 4G enabled

  • it was the universal kernel but i switched anyway from cfs build to the bfs and its cranking good thanks bud

  • i have the stuff you have suppled here and for some reason my screen has glitchy lines through the notifications bar and the screen mainly at the bottom any fixes or suggestions for this i was told it might have to do with the kernel im using but idk

  • @koDkill gotta make sure you get the UNIVERSAL kernel build

  • Comment removed

  • doing alot of fancy stuff there like flipping the home screens...how??

  • @cjstrick2010 I use a gingerbread launcher since my phone's on launcher

  • @cjstrick2010 I use a gingerbread launcher since my phone's on gingerbread

  • Good stuff man I followed your video to the (T). I used to have to charge my phone by 1p after i take it off the charger by 7:30a and now I still haven't charged my phone and its 7:30p!!!! ITS STILL IN THE GREEN! anyways thanks for the tip man and keep them coming. Any other tricks to the EVO? ha!

One question though a buddy of mine has the same battery problem with his phone but he has droid 2.2 for Verizon a Motorola can he follow the same steps?

  • @Olusola66 yup, should work on any android phone, however he has to make sure he gets a kernel specific for his kind of phone

  • so whats the reason behind this? and do you have to have your phone rooted for it to work? also if its that great how come HTC doesnt have something similar? and what does it do exactly, wheres the catch?

  • @kenw30 Nope, no catch! What you have to understand is that the reason they lock people from Overclocking is because you run the risk of burning up your processor. But you can underclock too, which is what we're doing here. I don't really know why they block it out, the phone will shut itself off first before any damage happens. HTC would rather you have to buy extended battery packs and car charges. There's no catch! You do have to be rooted, so that you can over/underclock

  • Thanks for the info. I can't seem to get mine to stay at the 800 range. It says it "set" it OK but still shows it is in the 900 range on the icon and when I go back into it, it is back in the 900 range.I did all that you said to do in your video. Any suggestions? This info may help you to help me. I have the Sprint HTC Evo that has the Mikfroyo 4.5 rom. Hope you can help me. Thanks.

  • @WhosYourChubby I believe you just asked me this on the blog post as well, check it and I answered your question.

  • HOw do i uninstall Netarchy from my phone?

  • @ninh007 you flash a stock kernel or any other kernel over it

  • @pandafloski How do i do that again? This was a great video but when i installed Netarchy it started to fuck up my phone a lil so thats why im asking.

  • @ninh007 you have to make sure you use the universal netarchy. Just download a stock kernel, look on XDA for a forum called "Stock kernel"

  • what if ou justdownload the first app? will it still save you life?

  • @magicichigo It will, but not as much

  • gud video!!
