@pickupartistwannabe Me, too. I've been looking at her hair for a while. It's a really complex look. I've been staring at it for the past few months. The biggest issue is how versatile it looks for EVERY scene. I can't just bring ONE photo to a hairdresser and ask her to look at it and figure out what they did. But I came close to this look the last time I got my hair done. I might try harder to get it right next time, but I suggest you start slow when going for this look.
I saw the Social Network and that movie didn't get my attention at all but when I saw TGWTDT, my mind was BLOWN on how Rooney can act, especially during the rape scene. Like seriously, this woman is a goddess o.o *bows*
@rsavemark I'm an American and yes I did see the Swedish version in it's original language (only added English Subtitles because I don't speak Swedish). I have to say Iiked it very much, and hats off to Noomi's performance. Ironically I haven't seen the American version yet , but I think I'll make plans to see it. Truthfully what got me interested was the hype and like mimy27 said, it is sad that it took a remake for me to hear about it, but thats just the way marketing works sometimes.
Can't think of a single negative thing to say about this film. Very well done. Entire cast was great. Rooney was little scene stealer. Pardon the pun. LOL!
I'm curious how the american people sees this film, even though it's an american movie, but takes place in Sweden and it's a Swedish story. Did anyone see the Swedish version? And if you did, what did you think of it? Did you think the American was better (I did, and I'm Swedish). However, would this be a better film if it took place in America even though the story is Swedish? Or does the Swedish part just make it more "original"? I need american answers, plz! Or foreign answers :>
@rsavemark Well, I'm European and, in regards to D. Fincher, I'm quote upset that a lot of people did know about S. Larsson's work untill the american version of the film was made. I absolutely loved Noomi Rapace playing Lisbeth, so I'm quite sceptic about the outcome of Mara's performance.
@mimy27 Actually, Dragon Tattoo has been very popular in America for years. It was a best-seller. Also, the Swedish film was one of the highest grossing foreign films in the US and has a ton of loyal fans.
@rsavemark I'd say the American version was better, but I really love Noomi Rapace and she stole each scene in the Swedish version (hence her gateway into Hollywood). I don't think it would be a better film if it took place in America, because it takes the authenticity of the story, the characters, and their situations away.
She has a quiet, shy intensity that reminds me so much of her character. She also reminds me of a young Demi Moore with her looks and her demeanor (strong, serious). Great performance, she was the best part of the film for me.
@Baec She was very good, but its probably the best female role since Gone With The Wind. Rooney looks a little more like the Lisbeth from the book, but Noomi's performance was nothing short of legendary.

What's with the retarded people in the background?
"Look, I'm on the television!"
Is it really that fascinating, in this day and age, to see yourself on a TV screen, that they can't stop waving like apes in front of a mirror?
Oh, and give this woman an Oscar!
