We have been treating our daughter's autism as immune system dysfunction, much like CFS and she is recovering and catching up her peers! It is miraculous!
How old is your daughter and does she speak or also have apraxia? My son is 7 and we have done it all with no real improvements,,, diets for 4 years, oxygen chambers, DAN, chelation, etc. Who are you seeing for this type of treatment?
We live in Chicago and flew to NY to see a doctor. They are not DAN doctors and they don't do supplements or any of that stuff. They aim at cooling down the immune system by treating underlying infections/allergies/ and more. We have been doing this for a year and it works. My daughter did have apraxia but she is verbal and very communicative today. She was moderately autistic over a year ago, but now she just has a language delay and catching up socially.
I forgot to add that XMRV does not have an allocated treatment yet, they are working on that. When it is time we will test our daughter for that but so far what we are doing is working
@itsnotautism You can treat XMRV with low dose naltrexone, which is already being used in the treatment of CFS/ME (and autism) and has been used to treat HIV/AIDS for over 20 years. It's much more effective than HAART, but completely non-toxic and rarely causes any side effects.
Thank you for replying. Is it possible for me to get the doctor's name so I can call and see if there's anyone in Florida doing this? As I mentioned we have tried it all... ABA, RDI, Ozone,PC, PK, etc Was this the first approach you tried? How old is your daughter... I'm curious if 7 is too late?
No this is not the first approach, but nothing else worked (except the diet) in fact everything made her worse, thats because all of those supps were flaring up her immune system. Age 7 is not too late. In fact the director/Nurse Practioner at the clinic started her daughter at 10 and now she is 20 and recovered. I can't promise that you that result but they have seen the non-verbal turn to verbal but it takes time because our kids are VERY sick, almost as sick as AIDS patients at times.
PANDORA congratulates the Whittemore Peterson Institute on such a remarkable research study. The work of this institute is an inspiration for us, as we are working very hard to get the NeuroEndocrineImmune (NEI) Center off the ground too.
