Good video. You have it stacked wrong. The black plastic stabilizer goes at the very bottom, on top of that goes the burner (leg side down to fit in between the stabilizer at the bottom) then on top of the burner a fuel canister, on top of the fuel canister put the metal the pot stabilizer with the 'pointies' pointing down around the fuel canister.
Great video and nice touch recommending a pouch - something JetBoil failed to provide.
For users of the next size up in JetBoil Cooking Systems like the Sol Ti, you will need a larger pouch than the 5.11 H20 Carrier. I use the Maxpedition 12x5 pouch. These larger Personal Cooking Systems fit nicely in it along with a drinking cup and it has a side pouch for cutlery, etc.
To Everyone who can not get their JetBoil system to fit into the "5.11 H20" pouch, if you look at the JetBoil "Cup" that covers the gas regulator you will notice there is a small tab that has a hole in it that seems to let you tie a small string to it. and the same thing with the plastic lid tab that makes it easier to open the lid. If you cut and file these smooth it should fit a lot better. i had the same trouble and now it will go all the way in with little trouble.
@traceyator Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. You'll really like this cooking system I think. Its the most compact and effective system I've found to date. there are nicer ones out there, but not as effective and compact.
That was sOo informative! ;))) im about to buy one right now, and this video made me feel like i can just grab it out of the box and fire it up ;))) thank you! ;))))
Hey bro this was one of your funniest videos....You are usually very calm, cool and collected... When you first lit it , boy was that funny...LOL... Overall seems like a good system...
@WaRB1RD217 Yeah i have a bad habbit of doing some rambling, but again I dont do this professionally. Hopefully I'll get better as time goes. Thanks for watching.
@spsilvgo Hi, its a pouch that came with my 5.11 backpack. For some reason or another, some people cant get theirs to fit. As you can see in the video, I have no problems and it fits it like a glove.
@bryce902 I've actually dont it before. The non stick lining inside the jetboil does a great job and the size of the bottom while cooking the egg forms it to a perfect size to fit into a bagel.
@kittykatkevin I just refilled 4 cannisters. There is a place down the road from me that refills these and other containers. Its possible with the correct equipment or if you live near a refuling station like I do.
@adymi5 Mine has worked great out in the field and I bring it to every campsite because its so convenient to make a quick cup of soup. Good luck with yours!
I've used the JetBoil in the field, I've used the frying pan to cook up some eggs and REI sells a french press to make coffee that works pretty good as well. Awesome video and I'll have to check out the 5.11 bag.
I've had it for a few months now and have taken it on several outings and find it works fantastic in any enviornment. Also I think that LA Police Gear have the 5.11 bag on sale for like $18. Not sure if the sale is still going on, but it is a very durable and high quality item. Thanks for your comment!
howd you get the jetboil to fit in the 5.11 h20 carrier? i have the same pouch and it takes me quite abit of time to get the jetboil in. problem is that the neoprene cozy keeps riding up cause its such a tight fit. i dont see how you would say "like it was made for it"
Hi, as you can see in the video, I had absolutely no problems taking my jetboil out of the 5.11 holder. It is also simple to put it back in. Maybe you have a different model 5.11 container? I know mine is quite new and has not been strecthed out, but it fits perfectly.
thats so strange. i just got the 5.11 h2o carrier pouch today and its such a chore to get the jetboil in. the neoprene sleeve rides up as i try to push it down into the pouch and when the handle has to go its gets super tight.
i have no problem taking the jetboil out, just getting it in the pouch.
could be that 5.11 pouches have different quality checks. mine is OD and made in vietnam.
Hi, I cant find the tag where it says it was made, but mine say "field tested by VTAC" on it. My pouch came with the 5.11 72 hour pack. Also maybe my jetboil was new and maybe the neoprene was just that much tighter agains the jetboil? Not really sure.
Great video Buddy 5.11 Tactical make awsome gear and Heavy Duty i use there pants for Security Jobs so Keep em comming Buddy TC P.Nielsen Security Guard Denmark
Thanks! yeah I love 5.11 products. They always make good quality item and a reasonable price. I've also got a couple pairs of their tactical pants and they are great. Take care.

what are your thoughts on using the plastic lid while boiling and using anodized aluminum for cooking? any health concerns?
snowblind8998 1 year ago
@snowblind8998 the plastic lid speeds up the cooking or boiling time, not really sure about any health hazzards though
