  • The jay never did give up on those 38's. Yeah they had SDM's and a few leased power but as long as i can remember, the SD38's were ALWAYS up front. Living in Matteson as a child on 217th street, id always go and see them since they were literally in my back yard. Watch them switch the chemical plant down the street and then exchange with the IC. Crying shame the CN bought them.

  • nice vid

  • too bad CN eliminated this train. All the trains now terminate at rondout.

  • Those crossbucks didn't last too much longer than this since the waysides were being put in and the crossings were activated before the new waysides were activated. Nice video though!

  • Nice video of the 703, EJE703!

  • Oh really? Then I saw this one in Joliet today!

  • Very nice, how many of those GP38-2s does The J own? This one has a very nice Leslie horn too!

  • 703 is the last one. There used to be five (700-705), but they were sold to the Birmingham Southern in the 1980s, and in 1996, this was the only one they bought back. Before then, it was all switchers working the Western Sub.
