  • awesome song! Who is it?

  • @oldschoolwaverider I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin :)

  • you say you need to get your butt off, but why? my understanding is to pivot your hips to point into the turn, lean in and bend your inner arm. The counterstearing comes from hanging off the bike and steeringthe bike with your arms instead of your legs and lean angle.......not that I do track riding, but I have been watching the f@ck out of some videos. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, as I am learning too, but there is a vid in my favorites that explained it pretty well.

  • @CBaileyII Because according to the data acq my lean angle, especially when racing, are in the low 50ls % (I believe it was 53%) and I am also scraping bodywork and hardparts because I am not getting off the bike enough. If I get off the bike more there is less lean angle and the bike has more contact patch and therefore less likely to lose traction.

  • Countersteering by pushing the handle bar away and using your weight to flick into a turn is good, plus your knee is your guide whether or not you are getting close to your max. I used to hang off a lot more until I switched to rearsets and they are too high right now. I need to chop off an inch or so and lower them again. I raised them because I scraped one really hard in the last race. And I am no expert so don't listen to me lol

  • BTW Since the new rearsets I have developed a habit of pointing my knee in a turn (to say 10/11 o;clock instead of between 9-10 o'clock) and not toe out so I am unable to actually bend the knee out. Re: hanging off: Mladin never really hung off too much (fused ankle) and admitted he didn't think it was that necessary, yet Ben "Elbowz" Spies does. It's what you can ride, as long as you have enough contact patch. BTW it was 53 degrees, not sure why I typed %

  • But I know I will never be that fast lol. I just know have to stop dragging my bike (and it is high enough) , especially fixed pegs or I am going to have a very bad day. You can accelerate more with more contact patch. All I can say is thank God for slicks ;) And remember: I suck, so don't take advice from me :D

  • @CBaileyII I wanted to add (sorry for beating a dead horse). That I also have an issue with getting much of my torso weight off the bike, which holds the most weight. I am just not comfortable doing it and I am not that tall so it is a stretch for me. I have been told I ride like Larry Pegram--but way slower ;) hehe

  • @msxxfast didn't take that into consideration. being shorter does make it a bit difficult to throw the weight over. I suppose LP is a good example of what you are contending with, although he does have the option of putting more of his weight over, he doesn't... whatever works I suppose!! You are doing good though compared to many that I have seen around the same level. Advice is acceptable no matter whether you are good or you suck, you either learn what to do or what not to do, right?? :)

  • @CBaileyII Thank you so much for your support and compliment. :) You know what. I was sitting here thinking that Lex Hartl switched from his 125 and Moriwaki 250 to an R6 last year and he tippy toes it out of the garage. Lexi passes me all the time. I have no excuse lol. It's mental and I need to stop whining and just do it. Old habits are hard to unlearn! Next weekend I am going to slow down for a few laps so I can go faster. It;s gonna be HOT though! I'm cutting pegs and lowering them.

  • @CBaileyII Problem fixed, new Vortex 7 degree clip-ons, shorty CRG levers plus Vortex rearsets farther back, OH YEAH.

  • Very nice vid. Diggin' the music :)

  • @Shogun09R1 Thank you! I kinda have that song on repeat right now. Theme of the week.

  • damn i was rockin out to this song and i usually dont like rock haha wats the name?

  • @rEcKLesSzzz Thanks! It's Breaking Benjamin - I Will Not Bow

  • very nicely done looks like yall had a blast for sure would love o do a track day evently when i get a bike thats not my every day bike

  • @kd4ysi I was more frustrated about my wrist but the two great sessions made up for it. You will enjoy the track. You are smart for not using your street bike if you can't afford to fix it. Not that I can afford to fix mine lol

  • ;-) when I saw this it was only in 240 and I watched it anyway.

  • @icpchad Thanks! That's a compliment! :)
