The people in the upper back are dancing like it's a fast song. But it isn't really fast enough for you to dance like that. (I can't believe I just said that) To me it's more of a song to chill out and smoke a joint and relax.
Thanks, silverchair97! "FEFY" was the first Phish song I heard, way back in 1993, probably on 92.5 FM radio, Boston, MA. It is still my fav Phish song; I only know a couple. I bought 'Rift' last night, used, and played the first 5 tracks. This is a great live performance, but I do miss the Pedal Steel Guitar, supplied nicely by Gordon Stone. Does this song exist on a live Phish CD?
being a bitter deadhead after jerry died, i didnt want any one to take their place. i hated this band and used to wear a phuck phish t- shirt until i heard this song.
Page wrote Magilla, and Cars Trucks Buses, and Army Of One. Fortunately, there's a bunch of songwriting credited to the collective 'Phish' so he's not completely S.O.L. in terms of residual royalties. :)
I was there too! But now we got another reunion so it almost makes the 02-03 NYE/hampton run a little less special... I'm pumped for the gorge and fenway tho!!!
Great tune he wrote for Sue. They always needed to sprinkle in the slower tunes to give us a rest from the madness. That was one of the things I always really respectd about this band. How they could go from an all out rocker or funker to mellow and graceful.
its one of those tunes that conjurs up so many feeling for me. primarily the feeling i got at shows when i would stop, and close my eyes, and tilt my head back, and just soak in the goodness of what was occurring. such blissful moments with this band. this tune captures a lot of that sentiment for my personal experience with the music over the years...
Phish makes me cry tears of emotional understanding.

@41golfer They never were trying to take the dead's place. Personally I only see a slight similarity to TGD, and not from this song at all.
