yes you cant have the metal touch the motherboard

We can never guarantee anything is permanent or if your particular unit can be fixed especially since you have worked on it before. Always worth a shot though.

I would say you would have a 90-95% chance of fixing it again. Two things are missing in your first attempt. The hardware we provide which will give you better clamping pressure and the overheating. Always worth a shot anyway. 3RedLightFix

ya my xbox had the 3 red lights on and then i did the penny deal w/ the thermal compound..and i put the compound under the heat sink..and it worked fine for about 2 weeks and now im having the 3 red lights again..i took it back apart checked everything and it looks good but the red lights keep coming on as soon as i turn it on...is this kit going to just keep it cool or is it actually going to make it work?
