i am 16 years old, i am a son of 2 u.s army soldiers. and i believe that every man should go to rotc, and that the draft should be reinstated because right now we are losing faith in our soldiers. and as a son of the u.s army, when i here people talk down about any servicemen i am frustrated beyond belief because they dont know the sacrifice and the blood sweat and years put out by these men. and talk down about them, not knowing a single thing about them, the men who will die for you and i.
There is just no justice in the world man, all you who have allowed yourselves to be told what to think about America and only see the bad and hate your own blood because someone told you to, need to know that this is what goes on all the time. Only the extreme rare cases of a soldier acting against protocol get all the nightly news time. I would love to see you soil your pants and ask for momma the first time bullets flew around you.

I've taken to watching this every day to help me understand the depth of honor shared by my son and his fellow Marines. Regardless of how we feel about war our troops are fighting every day for all of us and I could not be prouder of them.
One of the most compelling and heart felt speeches I've ever heard. It's not until the last few parts though, that really capture you; That's what we do, We're Americans. We will take with us to the grave, the pleasures and pains of war and I wouldn't have it any other way. We do it for our family, our friends, and our brothers, so that others need not have to do it themselves. We few, we very proud few, we band of brothers.
I wonder how many Congressmen and Senators have their children or other family members in combat operations in the US Military; being Real Patriots: like they send our family members to be? Maybe there should be rules in congress and senate; that you can't vote on military matters unless you have a direct family member in a foward combat unit, who will be deployed if you vote to send troops to fight.

I think that it is disappointing that Ltc North has become a spokesman of the Marines and the armed forces on the whole. He may be well spoken, but this man disgraced his uniform and sold his integrity. Honestly, he's another politician. Hopefully more honorable service members (which is just about all of them) will take the mantle.
North was the only one that came out and told the truth in the Iran-Contra affair. He admitted that he lied, he shredded documents, and he stated that he believed he was doing the right thing for the Contras as he thought of them as freedom fighters attempting to overturn a Communist government.

@MrJulesification I am a soldier first of all, an airmen of the 509th Security Forces Squadron based out of Whiteman AFB, Mo. I don't agree with everything fox tells me but it's far better than those of NBC, CNN, ABC and CBS. I don't agree with what the soldiers did over there, but unfortunately it happens. I turned 20 this past October in Kandahar, Afghanistan and you bet it was 110 degrees. Worst birthday yet. Two IEDs, but thankfully nobody was hurt. We hike up mountains everyday and you'd think i'm lying, but nobody complains. we dont complain because we all share the same pain. i got to work everyday with an 8lb helmet and a 45lb plate carrier. i've used my weapon as part of my body and saved lives because of my training. Hooah LTC North.

See, the beauty of this video and the story it tells is that you either get it, or you don't. My uncles fought at Utah Beach and the Pacific islands. My father faced mortal danger at Chosin. One son serves as a USAF medic and another carries a butter bar in his pocket at college.

Proud of the sacrifices the troops are making, but for what? When did the Iraqi Navy threaten our shores? When did the nation of Afghanistan declare war on us? You cannot win a war against an ideology (just look at how well we're fighting the War on Drugs). Back when OEF began, we were on the right path of making those involved with 9/11 pay, but why nation build? Why create a government in our image? Because "they hate freedom?" BS. GOD please bless and watch over the soldiers overseas and here at home. I hope that their loved ones who miss and suffer from their injuries or loss obtain comfort and support from family and friends. Our Nation great as it is is only as strong as its leadership that people elected to serve us.
US not each other and while this may shock some, soldiers go in to battle expecting a clear mission. This is not always achievable.
But at least their families deserve the dignity and respect of not bein
