The Box got bought by MTV (Viacom?) and is now MTV2. I remember when I turned it on one day and saw it wasn't the Box anymore and was PISSED THE FUCK OFF. I used to sit by the TV all summer and hope someone would dial in the hot ass Mya and Sisqo song but instead they kept playing Juvenile - Ha. I don't think they showed commercials so they prally couldn't get enough funding for it either.

it was a very sad day for me & others when parents (like mine own) got their wish & had The Box took of the air Dr. Dre nothin but a g thang passed this video & held the #1 spot for like 22 weeks which was a record for BoxTops. Big Dre fan but Dre Day was so much better with the guns in video. good luck seeing that anymore on video shows

The Box was the best video channel, I credit The Box for me liking other genre of music besides rap like most of my peers around me growing up in Detroit, they played everything but ofcourse rap & r&b was by far the most popular. Box easily beat MTV because thats when they started slowly phasing videos out with more Real World episodes, Beavis & Butthead & MTV Oddities < which I liked the 1 oddity with the big head.
