  • Can this kit also be used on the campfire in case out of fuel for whatever reason? Is it durable enough for that use? Can any of it be integrated with the Swedish Military Cookset/Stove?

  • @PracticalBushcraft1 Awesome question. The kit doens't appear to be durable enough to be used directly on a campfire. You would have to use indirect heat somehow. I wouldn't put the pots directly over fire. You can with the Swedish mess kit. I've tried to trangia burner from my swedish military cook kit with this and found that it's to big to fit in the stove holder.

All in all, I do think that the 27-7 is a good cook kit. But I feel that the Swedish Military cook kit is far superior.

  • Good review

    I just ordered the 27-2

Can't wait for it to come.

  • We have about 18 of these in my Scout troop here in Ireland, they're really handy and useful for hiking in the mountains etc.

  • Loved this review. Have the same thing myself, and before I use it, it was a great tip of you to just unhook the top before putting it out.

  • Does anyone know what the second seven stands for in the 27-7?

  • When you put out the flame it is safer to grip the simmer ring by the "ear" holding the gripping handle upside down, you can easily put the fire out without having your hand in the chimney. Taking off the chimney introduces risk in that the flame is blowing around uncontrollably from wind. Bad if you're cooking in your vestibule.

  • Good review. Love my Trangia 25 HA.

  • Great stove. I've got the same stove and really enjoy cooking on it. I've put some videos of it up. Worth a look.

  • Great review! Thanks! Gonna pick one up now :)

  • Great review pal. I own one of these (mine has the tea pot too) and you still taught me something. I never thought to use the gripper to remove the upper wind screen before snuffing the stove. I always played the precarious game of aiming and tossing it into the upper screen onto the stove itself! lol. Never occurred to me to simply use the grippers and screw of the wind screen. I sure love mine. The stove leaks a bit, but at $14, it's an easy thing to replace. Thanks for the review. ~Wolf

  • great review :)

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks for the helpful video, great to see just how straightforward it is to assemble the kit and use it. Looks like I'll go for it :)

  • Picked one of these up today, really looking forward to trying it out! looks really good. ive got a gas valve stove attatchment for it instead of the burner stove that comes with it.

  • Fantastic Review Bud!

  • Do you think this stove can be used as a full time stove in a student home?

  • @blankets1453 You should be able to. As long as where your staying doesn't have an issue with using an alcohol stove.

  • good review, could you tell me how non stick the hard anodised frypan is.

  • Thanks for the review, very helpful. What do you carry when solo backpacking? The Trangia mini?

  • @ForViewingOnly I carry a MSR Titan Ti kettle with a Caldera Cone. Usually when I am on a solo trek, All I need is boiling water. Thanks for watching.

  • great review l need to buy this for my bike tour

  • Good vid. I always do alcohol myself. I noticed that your simmer ring did not have an o ring. Did you remove it so it wouldn't get burnt while putting out the fire, or do you not store fuel in the stove?..... Thanks

  • @markp1313 The simmer ring is separate from the cap that seals the trangia stove. It clips on top on the cap and does not have a simmer ring. But, If I were going to snuff the stove with cap, I would remove it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Brill vid man verry helpful as i broght one of these second hand on ebay and was thinking that it likely wont have instructions when it comes as its used.

  • Greetings form Bakersfield (southern California). Love all your videos. Very informitive and fun to watch.

  • Supposed to put the upper windshield on after lighting the burner.

    Great vid otherwise.

  • nice video man its a great kit

  • Been cooking on this @ home. YEP. In a very well ventilated area !! Lol. In 8 days am still to use a litre of metho. AWESOME simly AWESOME!

  • nice lighting

  • Sold me just ordered one

  • excellent...

  • Nice review

  • Great Review!!! You really know what your talking about! good work!! :)

  • Hi, great video very informative. My only concern is when you removed the windshield to extinguish the burner, the flame blew around quite a bit. Could burn up your hand maybe?

  • Hi there. I enjoyed your informative video. Thanks for posting.

  • I cycle tour a little bit with the exact same stove kit and its ideal. If you want something light.Get the tiny lil' Kovea effort or an MSR Pocket Rocket and a 0.3ltr cup and cook and eat a small cup of tea or coffee and eat a cup of peas for dinner lol. All kidding aside. You can't beat the Tangia for pure reliability and ease of use.Simply bulletproof !Great review here though mate.Fuel is so easy to come buy here in Oz. I actually ran mine on Vodka once lol ! I hardly ever use my MSR's anymore.

  • love this stove. had it for 17 yrs now . wish they made the same style in the mini. :)

  • I can totally agree with you. I'm taking it on a duo thru hike of the NC MST this summer, but it would be silly on a solo hike.

  • Nice kit! Too heavy though :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos Yeah. I carry it on short packs. Wouldn't carry it on the longer hikes and trips due to the weight. But, If Trangia made one of these in Titanium, I would be all over it.

  • @MrBabelfish5 Yeah for sure. The stove will work great with a small aluminum windscreen too :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos Depends. I find the Trangia systems to be very good when you actually want to cook food. Like fresh vegetables, meats etc. For heating up bag food and soups my Primus EtaExpress is superior and lighter, but for cooking? Trangia anyday.

  • I like it

  • Nice review...I've got one of these stoves....well designed...love it.

  • Nice review, greetings from Sweden (home of Trangia and Fällkniven) ;)

  • Good, useable info. Thanks
