@billyboy8888 thanks for the response. i agree about fastest lap being pure skill. maybe he's just not very consistent then. trulli was always good for one lap, and then he wasn't good enough for caterham, or whatever they are called (the no hopers at the back of the field). he didn't ever do anything about from one lap specials. although with such a dire car, it's hardly surprising that that tag has probably worn off by now.
lol the bar TEAM was a joke.... if shumacher were on that team, bar would still be shit... goes to show you that the drivers role isn't the be all and end all.. look at button, he was with honda (bar?) and he got 1 podium, moves to a decent team, top 5 in points and a WC
@DontTalkToMeTroll umm they came second in the constructors in 2004. Button had 10 podiums and came 3rd that season. Also Button didnt move. BAR became Honda which became Brawn. It is essentially the same team.
@Insanaty yeah. but I think that the biggest reason was that Hill was great setting up the car, so Villineive was also fast because he got a great car.
Bar team was a shame of F1 , they was realy bad and made ton of mistake . Villeneuve was complain publicly about them and they made intentionnal fail on the cars .
@justmedawg No not at all, I just think the money he, and you, regard so highly went to his head and he lost his edge. Look at his disastrous outing in the Renault a few years back. His team mate at BAR, Button, kept his head down, concentrated on his driving and is now one of the 3 top drivers with Hamilton and Alonso. Where's Villeneuve? Probably begging, offering all his money, and being turned down by HRT.
If I was them, I sure wouldn't be laughing. I cannot understand what can possibly be so funny about that: "Look, guys, there that stupid sonofabitch goes, ruining our perfect pit stop with that stupid attempt to pass a faster car. Why are we working at BAR anyway?".
Lol, Villeneuve wasn't far behind Hill in his rookie season. Some people said that Frentzen, while not being a WC class driver, was still fast.. and he always outraced him. He did some mistakes (going for BAR, asking a ridiculous salary, having problems dealing with his boss, etc), but he had talent. It just went to waste..
@Elrojotiburon i agree, the season he won the WC, and the season before (his rookie season) he was an awesome driver, in fact the only person to ever have a better rookie season was Lewis Hamilton. I dunno what the fuck happened to him though, in 96 and 97 you cant say its because he had the best car, because he was challenging team mate Hill all the time, a proven racer, and Frentzen his no.2 rarely ever challenged him, same as Irvine never challenged MS. I guess he just lost it
@Vlajko1312 i've forgot many more driver.. yes of course, also damon hill..but DAMN IT!! look at video..XD if you dont know it, you think that these pit crew is laughing at a world champion?
only that thought make me ungry and sad..more sadly if i think that he's win with an williams, how can he do it? and once more, damon hill, was a bad driver, but always in top ten (that's what i can remember, i was 7 yo when he won WC).. Jaques? always 15th, 16th.. this is driver? i think is no..
lol idiots, senna , schumacher, prost, button, vettel... and a lot of others were champions just with the best car... maybe except alonso... so why u talking that shit that jacques just get that title with the best car... alsmost every driver did it with that conditions...
@SCHMUListCOOL I'm not sure about Schumacher taking his titles just because of the best car. The 94 Williams had it's problems, but at least at the end of the season, it was the faster car. And the 2000 Ferrari also might have been not the better then the McLaren. But apart from that, it's a certainty, that he made the Benetton as well as the Ferrari to what it was: The best car on the grid. And he made the best out of it. As well as Ayrton Senna.
@SCHMUListCOOL But they won races without the best cars. Senna had numerous bad cars, Schumacher with Benneton and Jordan, Vettel with Torra Rosa. The Renault was as good as the Ferrari/McClaren when Alonso won his double. Infact, when Alonso won his first title [2005 I think?] it was only because the Ferrari was ridiculously inconsistent that year. Schumacher had an unbelievable amount of failures. Not taking anything away from Alonso. The man's a legend.
It's no coinscidence that when Villeneuve left BAR they immediately started scoring points by spending his £14 million on the car, and when he was sacked from BMW and replaced by Kubica, Robert scored points in his very first race. Jacques always had a lot to say about other drivers but only won in 97 because he inherited Damons good car and Michael was still brigning Ferrari up to the level required to be champions.
villeneuve only won his championship because he had a brilliant car that was far superior to the rest of the field. once he lost the advantage of a good car his career went into the shitter
I cant grasp qhy so many people are scathing of JV. He's won the indy series, indy 500 and the F1 title. He proved himself to be a good driver, not great like Senna et al but just as good as anyone when he was in a decent car.
Villenueve had berated and alienated the whole BAR pitcrew at this point, so it's no wonder they took pleasure in his misfortune. On the subject of where Jacques stands in motor racing history...well, the 1994-97 Jacques Villenueve would be very highly ranked for me. After that? Much, MUCH further down. He seemed to lose his edge after striking paydirt with his tutor's painful enterprise. But he only had himself to blame for that.
@Soulflytribe04 Really he actually haves the gift to be in F1 the most prestigous series in the world. You say he sucks I bet your the one sitting on the couch with obbsesdy writen all over you, and you say he sucks >.>
@LeMansProject He just came to Brazil to run at the "million dollars race", he was the worst pilot driving, i think he was the last finishing the race. I saw it with my own fucking eyes. Ok, he used to be a good pilot, but his last years driving at F1 were ridiculous, thats why people are laughing at him in this video.
Jacques Villeneuve was very fast as he was by champcar. He was of course not of the best Driver, but certainly he lost interest in f1. He was never so focussed like the greatest, but nevertheless he was very brave and very quick!
I find it funny how in 2002 Jacques was commenting on the new crop of F1 drivers at the time, even saying that Massa can't drive in a straight line. Yet Massa out-scored Villeneuve when they were both team mates in 2005.
what a douche..talking shit bout kimi was lucky on getting that world title..if it wasnt because of reliability problem back when kimi was still with mclaren, he would have 3 world title..this guy is a joke..the reason he got that world title is because of the fw19.
@P5YcHoM4N I remember early in JB's career JV doubted him and did not think much of him. Then when they were team mates in '03 Button scored almost triple what Villeneuve did!
@artichoke15 -- great remarks, you hit it spot on ... JV is a decent driver at best who had a 'extraordinary' car that allowed him just 1 championship. Also lets not forget his comment about Kimi Raikkonen not deserving the 2007 WDC - gimme a break !!!
@artichoke15 "maybe on the top 10 list of guys who only won because their care was 2 secs quicker than the rest of the field!" Last I checked...thats how races were always won...like really...unless im wrong, please correct
@likeaprayer111 Vettel winning in Monza in a Torro Rosso. THAT was obviously the driver, you're not gonna tell me that the Torro Rosso was quicker than all the others are you??
@Ravsieg If you knew anything more about cars then guessing peoples age, you would realize all cars handle differently and if you have a great car, to a bad car, that is going to effect allot of time, no matter how bad or good you are, it just happens. I doubt cars in the 80's were WAY better then modern cars were their consistency was immaculate and cars ran perfects everytime.
@likeaprayer111 Cars on the 80's could not hold a candle compared to the latest ones, but that's far from the point. Stefan Johansson pulling that podium on a damn Onyx (!) at Portugal was a prime example. There were many other factors. Nowadays we always see roughly the same hierarchy the whole time. The only recent thing that slightly resembled those old times was when Vettel plonked his Toro Rosso on pole and never let the lead go.
@youngstunner27 Didn't watch F1 back then but after checking facts, they tell me that in 94 Benetton had an underpowered Ford engine and it was switched to Renault in 95 to match the pace of Williams. And on another website they stated Benetton had no chance in 96 because without a world champion driver, other Benetton drivers will not be able to win in a slower car. So Benetton maybe up there but was still a slow car.
The Benetton was very difficult to handle. Two from his colleagues of the 94/95 seasons (verstappen and herbert, i believe) and later gerhard berger used words like undrivable to describe its handling. it was quick, but at the expense of ease of steering, so it needed an extremely skilled driver like Schumacher to win as many races with it as he did.
@artichoke15 I will give that Jacque should not be in the top "10" - he is not a Prost, a Senna, a Fangio, a Clark, nor he is Mario Andretti, Mansell, not even a Stirling Moss... Worst, I thnk Schumacer should not even be in the same league than Jim Clark (Clark win 12 F1 race in 1963 and finish 2nd at the Indy500, he still won some race in F2 and sport car).
But, given that, Jacques might be at the very bottom of a top 20 - he is a bit like Alan Jones and Jacky Ickx, in some sens...
They are laughing at his burn-out. Jacques is a notoriously aggressive driver. He tried that pass every lap spun/run off the track and then did a huge burnout. That's why they are laughing.
Jacques Clear, his engineer, said JV almost always beat computer projections for qualifying lap times—which are almost always acurrate—and always shocked the team.
He was highly respected as one of the fastest drivers in the sport. He'll be on a lot of top 10 lists for a lot of people in the know.
@Hendy100 - "One of the fastest drivers in the sport?"
Are you serious? He lands himself in by far the best car in 1996, wins the title in '97 thanks to the vastly superior FW19 and never wins a race in the rest of his career while eventually having his ass handed to him by much more talented young guys like Button, Alonso, Heidfeld and even Massa.
Even Frentzen ran him close in 1998. Jacques Villeneuve was probably a top 100 or even top 50 driver, but top 10? Now really...
@Hendy100 wow you chat crap, if he was such a fast amazing driver why would the big teams come close to him? everyone basically knows he went backwards in his career and even in a superior FW19 he nearly got beaten by frentzen and schumacher the latter might have actually won it if he wasn't such a sore loser, jacques went to BAR to have his own say and look where it got him, eventually booted for Sato
@Hendy100 Top WHAT? That had me laughing HARDER than the video, but admittedly, not harder than the pit guys. Who, by the way, are not laughing at burn outs, but at their petty piss poor excuse of a driver. JV may have shocked a few people, but certainly not by... speed.
@Hendy100 Say What? He won races until 97, which means he just won races in is first 2 years as an f1 driver, and then stopped winning. >And let me ask u, if he beated does projections, what did Senna do? blow the computers?
@bullet50000 Yeah, Search for Top Gear F1 car and you will see how difficult it is for the guy to drive the car so much slower than it's designed to be driven.
Schumi at 26-31-35 was a beast! Alonso said that Schumi was the best driver he ever faced (Hamilton, Vettel), period!
F1 -» sport (endurance, coordination), at 43 he can't be physically at his peak!
Was Michael Jordan a bad ball player? At 40, in the 2003 season, he ‘only’ scored 20PPG, when I was able to put over 30PPG before his retirement in 1998!
@Legend33Larry Well I think in recent years of formula 1 the team and chassis makes a lot of the difference and Schumi had, the best team, the best car, team orders (briefly) and all the influence on the fia and People will use that against schumi until he dies. At the end of the day and I'm absolutely not a fan of his , he's not racing in a very good car right now and I'm just impressed that he is still a top 10 pilot.
lol the reason why he spinned so often was the fucking car build by the engineers ... villeneuve is top just the car was fuck...kinda stupid laughing at him cause its their fault :D
A good 20 wins? dont you mean 1? and by the way what did barrichellos contract say? I'm not argueing with you because you constantly make up crap and think I'll believe it.

@artichoke15 -- great remarks, you hit it spot on ... JV is a decent driver at best who had a 'extraordinary' car that allowed him just 1 championship. Also lets not forget his comment about Kimi Raikkonen not deserving the 2007 WDC - gimme a break !!!

@artichoke15 , wasn't his engineer Joe Clear?

@artichoke15 "maybe on the top 10 list of guys who only won because their care was 2 secs quicker than the rest of the field!" Last I checked...thats how races were always won...like really...unless im wrong, please correct
likeaprayer111 5 months ago
@likeaprayer111 Vettel winning in Monza in a Torro Rosso. THAT was obviously the driver, you're not gonna tell me that the Torro Rosso was quicker than all the others are you??
AnimeLiam 5 months ago
@likeaprayer111 How old are you, 16? Cars have only recently been making more difference than the driver. The eighties, those were the days!
Ravsieg 5 months ago
@Ravsieg If you knew anything more about cars then guessing peoples age, you would realize all cars handle differently and if you have a great car, to a bad car, that is going to effect allot of time, no matter how bad or good you are, it just happens. I doubt cars in the 80's were WAY better then modern cars were their consistency was immaculate and cars ran perfects everytime.
likeaprayer111 5 months ago
@likeaprayer111 Cars on the 80's could not hold a candle compared to the latest ones, but that's far from the point. Stefan Johansson pulling that podium on a damn Onyx (!) at Portugal was a prime example. There were many other factors. Nowadays we always see roughly the same hierarchy the whole time. The only recent thing that slightly resembled those old times was when Vettel plonked his Toro Rosso on pole and never let the lead go.
Ravsieg 5 months ago
@Ravsieg Yes thats true. I never really followed F1 till recently, and TBH I still prefer NASCAR, but all opinion their.

Michael Schumacher in a Benetton. That was a slow car and he won back to back.
tonylauno1 5 months ago
@tonylauno1 Benetton back then had a very good car, check your facts bro...
youngstunner27 5 months ago in playlist Videos
@youngstunner27 Didn't watch F1 back then but after checking facts, they tell me that in 94 Benetton had an underpowered Ford engine and it was switched to Renault in 95 to match the pace of Williams. And on another website they stated Benetton had no chance in 96 because without a world champion driver, other Benetton drivers will not be able to win in a slower car. So Benetton maybe up there but was still a slow car.
tonylauno1 5 months ago
continue from above.....
Like I said, I did not watch F1 back then so maybe the facts tells a different story to if I was actually following F1 in 94 95 & 96
tonylauno1 5 months ago
@tonylauno1 Thanks for the information. I guess I was fooled by Schumi's talent...
youngstunner27 4 months ago
@youngstunner27

Hendy100 9 months ago 23
@Hendy100 I suspect that JV would have had many more wins if he stayed with Williams, they had a very good package with those BMW engines.

@nonamebrand0 Renault you mean, BMW (re)entered F1 with Williams in 2000

@Hendy100 - "One of the fastest drivers in the sport?"
Are you serious? He lands himself in by far the best car in 1996, wins the title in '97 thanks to the vastly superior FW19 and never wins a race in the rest of his career while eventually having his ass handed to him by much more talented young guys like Button, Alonso, Heidfeld and even Massa.
Even Frentzen ran him close in 1998. Jacques Villeneuve was probably a top 100 or even top 50 driver, but top 10? Now really...
FormulaOneFan4Eva 6 months ago 12
@Hendy100 wow you chat crap, if he was such a fast amazing driver why would the big teams come close to him? everyone basically knows he went backwards in his career and even in a superior FW19 he nearly got beaten by frentzen and schumacher the latter might have actually won it if he wasn't such a sore loser, jacques went to BAR to have his own say and look where it got him, eventually booted for Sato

@Hendy100 he's on my top ten list bro!
thecleaner084 6 months ago
@Hendy100 Top WHAT? That had me laughing HARDER than the video, but admittedly, not harder than the pit guys. Who, by the way, are not laughing at burn outs, but at their petty piss poor excuse of a driver. JV may have shocked a few people, but certainly not by... speed.

his engineer was jock clear but youre right
Makaveli25x 5 months ago
@Hendy100 Say What? He won races until 97, which means he just won races in is first 2 years as an f1 driver, and then stopped winning. >And let me ask u, if he beated does projections, what did Senna do? blow the computers?

how does the car have so little grip?
bullet50000 10 months ago
@bullet50000 It's a little damp, and when they go slow, they have hardly ANY downforce whatsoever. Combine that with massive torque and well...

@bullet50000 Yeah, Search for Top Gear F1 car and you will see how difficult it is for the guy to drive the car so much slower than it's designed to be driven.

Face it everybody Schumi's return to F1 proves he is not the best driver to have ever been in F1.
MultiJimmyHenry 10 months ago
@MultiJimmyHenry
He is 43… He is aging!
Legend33Larry 10 months ago
@Legend33Larry Well I think in recent years of formula 1 the team and chassis makes a lot of the difference and Schumi had, the best team, the best car, team orders (briefly) and all the influence on the fia and People will use that against schumi until he dies. At the end of the day and I'm absolutely not a fan of his , he's not racing in a very good car right now and I'm just impressed that he is still a top 10 pilot.
puddingpants7 9 months ago
@MultiJimmyHenry he is aging.. even nico said schumy had problem with his eyes..
