Her dogs are also in horrible conditions, "He has been on the chain for 5 YEARS" Poor dog!; "They have eye problems and red has a tumor on his chest", "he is very fat, needs to go on a diet..." Ok saving animals is good and all but if you don't have the conditions or money to take care of them you better not bring them home.

I am on Season 2. I contacted the show for my mother. I would like to tell you that they manipulated many scenes and twist the actual situations. They had us do things that were completely false and act out lies.My mothers kittys were healthy happy country kitties. We both work so hard to clean up and care for them. Yet Animal planet only wanted to focus on whatever dirt they could dig up! Horrible expierence! Regret ever asking for help! They only care about ratings not the animals or the ppl!

That is awful! But not surprising, I watched before and I have felt they were exaggerating and being somewhat emotionally abusive to the hoarders who are already at least somewhat emotionally precarious.

As if the hoarder needs to be shamed.

Did they do ANYTHING to help or just capitalize on the situation?

They make so much money off the adverts they could easily fund a no kill rescue to help clear out animals, yet I know of no such non-profit endeavors

This is my OPINION: Why is it that cat owners seem to think it's ok to have their cats free to roam around? If a dog is left to roam free there is an uproar because the dog may attack another pet, person, or defecate in someone's yard. Why is it ok for people to let their cats roam free & procreate, kill wildlife, defecate in kids' sandboxes, jump onto cars & scratch paint jobs... I could go on. Cat owners need to realize if a cat is a pet then it needs to be in a home, kennel, or on a leash.

I take strays in, feed them and get them fixed so they're not reproducing out in the wild. There's feral cats all over the woods where I live and I think they must be messing with the ecosystem. Nobody seems to care here though. It's sad. I got four cats and one dog though. Most strays I make sure are healthy before I find them a home or take them to a shelter.

There have to be a limit on it, you have a very kind heart, but you are not looking at the financial, relationship and health strains on yourselfs and the animals. Its cruel to keep them chained bu at the same time she feels more pain to "percieve" there suffering while stray.

Maybe its a deeper cry for closeness in her partner? or maybe there is more joy in giving some of hese animals to elderly people who may enjoy there company and therefor share the love?

I have way more animals then they do all indoor and we have no problems xD 11 cats 1 genie pig 1 hamster 3 cockateals 1 cockatoo 2 ball pythons 2 corn snakes 1 desert king snake 4 leopard geckos 2 crested geckos 4 bearded dragons 1 giant red Argentine tegu and 3 fish xD. But we have a clean house and no problems taking care of them. If u cant take care of an animal then u shouldn't get it.

@aideenly Even shelters have a hard time adopting out dogs, it's easy to say she should sell them but in reality it's hard to find good homes for dogs. Especially for a regular person, try doing check-ups on the dogs after adopting them out; If you accidentally adopt out to a home that abuses or neglects the dog, they're not gonna let you in to check on or even take the dog unless you have a shelter's legal leverage that enables you to force them.
