The other is a TURBO 2500 pound Race Car... You guys keep saying put a 2.5 in a Jeep and race them again. Why not just turbo the SRT8? I will choose my SRT8 any day of the week. LEGend432345, a rally car ties with this JEEP because it has a SUV body, but i guarantee you that it is more than a SUV, trust me, it is a beast in the drag strip.
Chrysler's been doing it. This the SRT-8 Jeep when it first came out was the worlds fastest SUV, even that POS Landrover with a supercharger couldn't compete. IMO they need to give the SRT-8 engines VVT as well and not just the viper. Then again these SRT8's would probably make the same power as the v10.
This engine is the first pushrod engine with true VVT on the exhaust side. Give them some time bud.. its said Chrysler and GM are investing in it a good bit.. and the future is to have intake side aswell. This engine did not have it since it would require a full redesign, and they didn't use overhead cam VVT cause it added to much weight and was to big for the engine bay (the 2 big benefits of pushrod, weight and size).
Chrysler and GM have been working together for some time making some astonishing new designs in motors and transmissions. For instance, the Hybrid transmission. A transmission with Variable Gear Ratios and an electric motor built in instead of one bolted on the side of the engine. If any companies merge I'd love to see those two combine. Both of them have contributed a great deal to the automotive industry through out time.

I realize that most of the people who think talk crap about jeeps like this are only doing it because they couldn't afford to make a down payment on one, let a lone keep gas in it. Hell, I wanted a 2001 T/A WS6 with just under 80,000 miles on it that I saw. They wanted 18K for it, I didn't want it that bad. :P I wanted a X-Runner until I drove a regular Prerunner and discovered the steering column is 1 inch short of being comfortable. It's all about what you like. :)

The car complies with the homologation rules set forth by the WRC league which calls for the car to be a production car with a minimum run of 25,000. they work for a 24 hour endurance race without breaking down. that sort of racing is one of the hardest tests of a motor. the RX-7 is one of the most popular cars for lemons and there aren't a lot of problems with them.

Chrysler's been doing it. This the SRT-8 Jeep when it first came out was the worlds fastest SUV, even that POS Landrover with a supercharger couldn't compete. IMO they need to give the SRT-8 engines VVT as well and not just the viper. Then again these SRT8's would probably make the same power as the v10.

This engine is the first pushrod engine with true VVT on the exhaust side. Give them some time bud.. its said Chrysler and GM are investing in it a good bit.. and the future is to have intake side aswell. This engine did not have it since it would require a full redesign, and they didn't use overhead cam VVT cause it added to much weight and was to big for the engine bay (the 2 big benefits of pushrod, weight and size).

Chrysler and GM have been working together for some time making some astonishing new designs in motors and transmissions. For instance, the Hybrid transmission. A transmission with Variable Gear Ratios and an electric motor built in instead of one bolted on the side of the engine. If any companies merge I'd love to see those two combine. Both of them have contributed a great deal to the automotive industry through out time.

I realize that most of the people who think talk crap about jeeps like this are only doing it because they couldn't afford to make a down payment on one, let a lone keep gas in it. Hell, I wanted a 2001 T/A WS6 with just under 80,000 miles on it that I saw. They wanted 18K for it, I didn't want it that bad. :P I wanted a X-Runner until I drove a regular Prerunner and discovered the steering column is 1 inch short of being comfortable. It's all about what you like. :)

The car complies with the homologation rules set forth by the WRC league which calls for the car to be a production car with a minimum run of 25,000. The car can be rallied straight of the showroom floor with minor modifications, if needed.
