  • i would be trippen the hell out if would of worked their and if i was stoned out of my mind i would slap my self to make your im not dreaming lol

  • LOL, "Must be some crazy Google thing."

  • I'm not saying it was aliens, but it was aliens.

  • Oh, Robot. I thought it was Robert and wondered why 137,000 people would want to watch Robert order a scone. This was OK, too.

  • one time when i was little i needed to use the bathroom and walked in there and smaked my head on the counter that shit heart like a bitch just recently have i decided to go back in there since i was four. now im almost 18

  • "must be some google thing" ...google the answer to all our conundrums

  • 7 people fear the machine. Nerds acting freakish trying not to admire the (robot) woman. You don't pay wages, overtime or vacation it just works. Funny, the thing can't read... hasn't heard of T-2 upgrades? I get that.

  • Someone obviously didn't have the time to leave the lab for a snack. Kudos. :)

  • I know it is controlled by a person but the illusion of a super polite robot is pretty heartwarming. I like him.

  • Does it come more often by now? :D

  • This is the best thing ever.

  • What does it do?

  • It begins...

  • One berry scone please................. and a 'Phased plasma rifle in a 40 watt range'.

  • Hmm...need to install bomb for anti-kidnapping self-destruct.

  • THat is awesome.

  • lol epic your on stumble!!!

  • So this isn't a remote controlled robot?

  • The bow-tie is just the icing on the cake.

  • amazing how everyone treats the robot like a kid, opening doors and shit

  • @AbbeyRoadFortyLicks Because it has the capability to safely open doors.

  • on the news

  • "For here or to go?" hahahah :D

  • "For here or to go?" hahahah :D

  • Can't someone KID-NAP the robot? That would suck because then that guy would be out 15k

  • @coast2coast6 Exactly what i thought.Kind of a bummer :\

  • goodie, less of a reason to get out of the house :D

  • He just abSCONEded from that coffee shop :)

  • I live in M View and I can tell you this is one of the cities with more geeks by square ft than any country.

  • I wouldn't have as much trust as this lady did. That robot would get stolen anywhere outside of a place like Mountainview.

  • humanity is doomed, google has become self aware

  • Quem veio do Globo.com!

acessem crabmug.me o melhor encurtador de urls!

  • think any kind of defense mechanism would pop out if someone tried to mug the robot for its scone?

  • That's cool, but I wish the video made it clear if the robot was autonomous. From the language processing I'm assuming it's not - if it was that would be a major advance! But even if this is a remote control situation it's very impressive engineering - the locomotion and power management alone are excellent.

  • People this is the future... robots and AI!

  • Fat people can now get fatter, yay.

  • I, for one, welcome our new scone-loving robot overlords.

  • @somecallmespock dammit, I was just about to write that, haha.

  • i really wonder when we'll see it on big bang theory.... XD

  • At first I was like haha thats funny how its rolling around with its little bag. Then I realized, holly crap imagine what would happen if terrorists got their hands on our little friend here!

  • and the hikikomoris rejoiced

  • Anyone else wonder if they jury-rigged a Segway scooter to make it?

  • @rhazer

Jurry-rigged? Are you serious? nothing about that seems jury-rigged at all. It definitely uses the same technology as a segway but I doubt they just hastily strapped cameras on a segway and sent it of on its marry way. To control a robot from that great a distance requires some good engineering.

  • Awesome - did anybody follow it back home?!

It certainly attracted a fair bit of attention, but as with all things I'm sure it'll be commonplace quickly - its only been 15-20 years since mobile phones looked a little odd hanging off peoples ears in the street, now its totally normal.

Its not difficult to imagine this happening first in California!

  • Dr. Sheldon Cooper ???

  • And so it begins...

  • It's Happening.

  • now robots are doing small tasks for humans... but soon humans will be doing small tasks for the master robots...

  • I can't wait to get one up here in CANADA ,Slap some chains on the wheels and send it to the beer store! that's what I'm talkin aboot!!

  • @mastersk8r

The way Canada is, you'll probably have to wait until your robot is 19 years old.

  • First a scone..

    THEN THE WORLD

  • In this video, a robot orders a scone. But in the future, all menial tasks will be performed by robots.

Thus, in the future, robots will go into coffee shops to order scones from robots, all scones and robots and coffee shops having been made or built by other robots.

    ROBOTS.

  • @Creepygirl7116 Tell your friend they rock :D

  • "Is that for here or to go?" Sales droid meets shopping droid!

  • this video is amazing... i didn't know that pedestrians in mountain view actually wait at red lights.

  • Hahah, that's so neat.

  • I need one so I can sit at home all day and buy scones!

  • This guy is a photographer? He can't hold a camera straight. Tuck in your elbows, man!

So the owner of the machine is visible from the little screen, and he's the one talking? I gotta dissect one of these.

  • It would have been hilarious if someone stole the $5 and the robot couldn't pay.

  • OH My GOD!! SKYNET............seems awfully nice doesn't he?

Robo-apocalypse may not be so bad after all.....

  • not a robot, webcam with wheels

  • Silly robot! You don't even have taste buds or a digestive system!

  • I want one!!!! Where can u get this?

  • I WANT 4!

  • Lol to here or to go.

  • if this was in new york, i woulda been robbed that robot for that scone!

  • This is one of the ugliest robots ive ever seen..wheres ASIMO when you need him

  • Perhaps the R&D department could program a robot to film the other robot ordering a scone, because the humans tasked with the job suck!

  • This video is 4:21 too long

  • every terrorist will want one of these

  • @eujeeves terrorists may want one but USE useful idiots instead.

  • Invasion of the hipster robots.

  • I'd steal the robot's cash and scone and give the robot a roundhouse kick

  • you know this means longer lines dont you

  • must be some one from google or facebook :)

  • I'm surprised no one came by, picked it up and ran off with it. Oh wait... Mountain View, CA.. nevermind. Not surprised anymore.

  • A Robot Sconed.

  • fake viral video attempts are geh

  • <- Assembly line worker = 9 years.

Anything that helps humanity from doing mundane chores is a good thing. (Like factory painting robots) We have so much work that needs to be done and slave labor isn't a good thing. Now, the engineer has time to do other things and be happily fed.

    Don't fear the robot.

  • lazy ppl ftw

  • It still has one flaw, much like the episode of big bang theory where sheldon creates a similiar robot. No arms to open doors. But it's still an interesting first step

  • "Is that for here or to go?" - great line!

  • well i for one welcome our scone-eating robot overlords!

  • For god sake, attach your camera to a hen's head to stabilize the image! I almost threw up my scone!

  • I gotta get one of those! :)

  • Great......more unemployment....

  • @kraqus Or... more employment to build these bots.

My mind is full of fuck!

  • seems more like a really tall r/c car with A/V than a robot, but ok... kinda neat... for the barista. xD

  • that will be the norm oneday

  • Made possible by Anybots and Google (for providing the city-wide wifi)

  • WTF America?!

  • woah wtf i was there that day...hella missed it

  • Best day at work ever.

-the cashier. (no really, that's me.)

  • @greencow423 I LOVE YOU!! AND HIIII!

    (this is Jen T)

  • @greencow423 Good luck with your acting gig

  • @greencow423 You get extra points for the Johnny Five reference.

  • @greencow423

"is that for here or to go?"

I laughed so hard, thank you :))

  • @greencow423 bull frickin horse shit

  • Fail someone who will steal robot. and Too lazy !!!

  • should have kept following it

  • useless piece of technology that's probably 10 years behind any japanese robotics....

  • @xxx4everxxx This kind of technology probably doesn't seem useless to this kid: watch?v=VtKJhz6pnwE

  • reminds of the scene in star wars when the droids walk in. "we dont serve YOUR KIND in here" :-P

  • Wow! Makes me want a QB to run errands. They really should have a model with modest cargo capacity and a secure money dispenser. I totally would have done this too if I was working for Anybots! The future has arrived!

  • @serendipitygeek It would be great if it could spit out exact change.

  • Fucking robots. First our scones, then our women.

  • First they want scones. Next they want Sarah Connor.

  • First dislike. Fuck yeah.

  • THOSE ARE MY SCONES.

GIVE THEM BACK YOU ARE A ROBOT.

    YOU DON'T EVEN EAT SCONES.

  • Anybody else realize we're in the future now?

  • SKYNET in 3....2......1.....

  • Should have mugged the robit!

  • My order was foiled by stairs!

  • DAT ULTIMATE COCOONING DEVICE

  • Aaaaaaaand are you accepting applications?

  • that was baller.

  • "For here or to go?"

  • Priceless.

  • @Creepygirl7116

You are an autonomous robot. The only difference is you're made out of meat instead of metal. Now stop complaining.

  • Try that in NYC

  • Do you relaize what kind of amazing impact this technology will have...on the scone industry?

  • @InuvikPhil i can see it... scones... everywhere...

  • I wish it was actually an autonomous robot and not just a remote controlled stick figure with no arms.

  • Steve Jobs has to get his coffee somehow.

  • The integration has already begun...

  • hah, It's like a primitive version of Surrogates.

  • "For here or to go" hahaha

  • Should have asked, "Does Sarah Connor work here?"

  • That is awesome!

  • Oh my goodness! This is wonderful, just wonderful!

  • omg i love this hahah

  • Aaron, that is absolutely nuts!
