  • @merksmirs Scotland is in Britain.

  • @karezza6 Oh shut the hell up and stop insulting someone you don't know. I hope you know that he IS responsible for SOME of the more memorable revival Who episodes. -.- He's been around since Eccleston was The Doctor.

  • Interesting point made at the end by Moffet.

  • i can see they're breath in the air and they both wear thin jackets!! Are they insane?!?

  • @TheGDWF They're British; you'll see people in shorts sometimes too when it's snowy. The British = Always complaining about the weather, never dressing properly for it.

  • very good video

  • hes a star so hes weaeing one

  • It's so weird to hear David with a scottish accent. I've gotten used to how he speaks in 'Who'.

  • @Lupinequeen13 nooo, he talks the same way in DW.

  • @DgamerAA nope, not at all - well he does for like the fraction of one episode - the werewolf one. But other than that he's completely brittish in Who and all scottish here

  • aww,geeks.

  • oh the scottishness!!!!

  • It's always fun to watch two fanboys fanboying.

  • I love watching Moffat's little Nerdgasms when he hears about little doctor who things

  • @jkarani It was a low-budget episode. You can't expect great SFX all the time :) . Besides, the focus of the episode was on the behaviors of the people, not the monster at all.

  • i love it .dr,who....i speak spanish , is because i cant write anymore...but ilove david tennant

  • MOFFAT! :D

  • Legends!

  • I love how he opens that list @ 0:55. Smooth.

  • 2:19 David Tennant seemed a bit creeped out by Steven Moffat's childhood obsession with Doctor Who.

  • Dizzy from this video.....stand stilllll!

  • Oh my glord. David Tennant gives me the shivers. He is amazing on all levels. His voice. Oh.

  • Very cool meta moment.

  • 20 Daleks

  • It somehow feels wrong seeing The Moff with David.... it's like he's cheating on Matt! :'(

  • @StephAnneLouise He wrote for Eccleston and Tennant before he wrote for Matt Smith. Some of the best episodes of both Nine and Ten, if not THE best :)

  • @krimzonvillain I agree with "some of the best", but THE best episode (IMHO) was the Davies episode "Midnight". It's just horrifying in a "this is how people really act" way.

  • @IceMetalPunk That episode left me feeling really angry. The Midnight Entity wasn't so much a scary villain as it was an unforgiving mirror of all the worst in people. Though it was a very interesting counterpoint to the Doctor's unwavering faith in humanity, the thing I love beyond anything else about Doctor Who is it's hopefulness, it's central thesis that people are essentially good. So I gotta say, not my favourite episode, though definitely a very very good one!

  • @krimzonvillain Unfortunately, that endless hope is extremely unrealistic. That's just it, though: in every other episode, the creatures are evil and the humans are good, but none of it is likely to happen in real life. In Midnight, the people are the evil ones, and their reactions to subtle pressures are so over-the-top, yet so shockingly realistic, that it should scare the crap out of you to realize people are really like that.

Overall, Teannant's vulnerability in that episode made the show.

  • @IceMetalPunk I guess it depends if you're typically pessimistic or optimistic, though I don't think Doctor Who leaves much room for pessimism even in it's darkest episodes. One of the things that the Doctor lauds us for is our endless potential for hope and good, despite our flaws and fears. As for the evil creatures and good humans, that's not always the case. Doctor Who complicates concepts of pure good and pure evil on the part of both humans and aliens in the vast majority of its episodes.

  • @IceMetalPunk And you're right, it's always interesting to see the Doctor lose control.

  • @krimzonvillain Yeah. Usually when he loses control, it's in anger or frustration. It's very rare to see him literally fearing for his life without being able to even try to fight back. The fear in his eyes when he's unable to even control what he says is...wow. It was really Tennant's shining moment as an actor in that show for me.

  • @krimzonvillain Oh yeah I know they were AMAZING! Just saying you get used to him being with Matt Smith on Confidential...just a weird association my little brain makes! ;)

  • @StephAnneLouise Do I smell an OTP? XD

  • They're such fanboys! :)

  • "well I've just blown that feature film idea forever, haven't I" - brilliant!!

  • I'm a actor, can't wait to go in Doctor Who, loved it since the beginning! Went in Being Human was truely amazing team.

  • and it still continues... my 8 year old son wants to become a stunt guy / actor thanks to doctor who and how much he loves it.

  • And now they're getting rid of Broadcasting House... how sad :'(

  • Empty Child, Blink, Silence in the Library, Girl in the Fireplace. All the best are his!

  • @YearwigY The Vashta Nerada and the Weeping Angles all from one mind...the best villains the new series has seen yet.

  • He's so much better than RTD. No more deus ex machinima!

  • hes in 2 part of series 6

  • @paulmc124 lies

  • I was really upset when I saw David wasn't wearing converse

  • HI. Just to let you know, I am not smart or anything but I am pretty sure you spelled Steven Moffat incorrectly. Just to let you know. :)

  • I love David Tennant

  • i miss moffat-rtd

  • "This is currently being used by News Night, but we're gonna invade it anyway."

    I *LOVE* David Tennant -3

  • he's doing an awesome job writing doctor who! :)

  • When I saw the thumbnail for this video I thought they were going iceskating :/

  • @MrNakedtittys

    I agree!

  • I love DT's response to Moffat's "burst into tears" line. XD

  • Steven Moffat is god awful.

  • @TheDoctorWho17 RTD is even worse

  • @TheDoctorWho17 *Steven Moffat is god.

  • I love how David whips out that list.

  • I.Love.You.All.

  • I pay my TV license, meaning I can watch bbc without adverts... Soooo, Why am i being forced to watch adverts on here for BBC ¬_¬

  • @allbymysmelf Because this is BBC Worldwide the commercial arm of the BBC.

  • @allbymysmelf

Because this is YouTube, owned by Google, not the BBC.

  • For the first 2 minuets I totally forgot that David Tennant was The Doctor.

  • making doctor who is very hard work especialy the new series, fans really dont know how hard the people at wales cardiff work in order to bring you doctor who.

  • @MsWooWoo well SOOORY

  • David's 4o and still sexy! Well I guess he would be, considering his wife is 26.

  • @loloolee24 fiancee, but yeah haha

  • Happy 40th Birthday today David !! : D

  • Best part of Doctor Who - The Scots!!!!!! David... Moffat....Karen

  • @mentalcheesefairy Basically everyone who is scottish in anyway is cool, and end up being cool!

  • It's a good point at the end about writing Doctor Who. You have to build up a character lineup and a concept all within a show or two and then ignore it after that. Nice little interview. I liked it.

  • All of my favourite episodes that are not series finalles are written by the Moff but I prefer silence in the library/ forest of the dead to some series finalles. If you watch the Rowan Atkinson comic relief doctor who, Moffat wrote that as well.

  • am i the only one that keeps noticing david pulling doctor faces/ poses?

  • @emilyandjackowacko

He's pulling DAVID faces and poses, they aren't the characters quirks, they're his.

  • I really love Moffat. My brother and I were discussing our top ten favourite episodes of Doctor Who the other day and almost all of the ones we chose were written by Steven even before he became head writer.

  • @SirKelseyLorraine haha same. like "blink" and "the time of angels" etc were some of my favorites

  • I want jelly babies back!!! :D it would be amazing spoof

  • David Tennant is better than Tom Baker IMO.

  • @redeemerslove whaaaaaat?

nobodies better than tom baker lol

  • @clashcitywannabe Tennant is :)

  • @clashcitywannabe David Tennant is.

  • All of my favourite episodes are written by Stephen.

  • i love his accent, he should have used it as the doctor!!

  • @richarldluva124 He wanted to, but Davies decided against it.

  • If I was offered a job in Hollywood or at the BBC, I would choose the BBC too Stephen, way cooler IMO. Tho the pay proberly would be better in Hollywood!

  • My personal opinion of Steven Moffat is that he is a freaking genius

  • All of my favorite episodes of doctor who, going back to Eccleston, were written by this guy.

  • i keep watching this video just to objectify david...

  • @supercleverusername i knowww! Its SOOO EASY to dooooo... OMG

  • BBC does have adverts! :O

  • Steven Moffat is a great writer, but wat's also really great about this video is that David Tennant spoke with his Scottish accent.

  • Ads? on the BBC?

    FUCK OFF!!!!!!!

  • Well, there were many studios.

Oh yes, but let's just say it's this one because...

Oh yes, right here, on this very spot!

    Yes, right on this spot.

  • Liker this one

  • why is your tag david moffat? his name is Stephen Moffat, and you put it up in the title, so why did you tag it as David Moffat?

  • david is so beautiful <3

  • I really like Tennant's expressions. And also his hair. Well, and his face. ...and accent... and the way his clothes fit him. Mmm.

  • He is SO thin, and his sideburns are gone :((

  • david tennant's accent is making me MELT

  • @JTMFashionista

Oh don't be disgusting, madam! The term is 'WET', dear. David Tennant's accent is making you 'WET'. More delicate, see?

  • David's shirt is a pun :D! Or was :,'(

  • Lol David's Awesome! Moffat... he's ok i guess! XD What was that song?

  • @Penguinfilms123 The song is a crappy remake of an awesome Depeche Mode song called Personal Jesus...look for it on youtube, it's amazing! :D

  • His star shirt reminds me of Dr. Seuss :D

  • What did they use as background music? The riff is Personal Jesus by depeche Mode but I'm sure that's a remix of some kind.

  • been getting a lot of scottish people in the show recently, and it's been brilliant. Love the new scriptwriting stephen, keep up the good work!

  • David is so adorable ♥ He's such a normal guy, im glad he doesnt act like hes some big star. Thats why I like him so much!

Cant wait to see what Stephens got for us!

  • Stephen Moffat's father was my primary school headmaster and its amazing to see all his mannerisms in Stephen here.

Amazingly talented family who all belive in eachother and believe in the power of art. Very proud of him!

  • calm?? have you READ the writer's tale???

  • Moffat's attitude towards the show is exactly as I expected it... he LIKES it, which is good since we've had enough deconstructions for a while...

  • so does Russell?

  • I'm glad to see Russel T. Davies leaving. Stephen Moffat is gonna be great. Can't wait.

  • I have a feeling that Doctor Who is about to get really really really good

  • as opposed to the five years we've had of it being really really really rubbish?

  • @HamishsRobot you thought right

  • @HamishsRobot and so it did

  • @HamishsRobot You were correct!

  • @nejumascotty

WHY THE HELL DO YOU PEOPLE DO THAT! AHHHHHHH! STOP CAPITALIZING EVERY FIRST LETTER!!!

  • @8111hellogoodbye How about you save your breath and don't point out the way I used to write about a year ago? Wank stain!

  • I've been watching Doctor Who since Unearthly Child. The trouble was at that time (the 60's) young girls were not supposed to watch science fiction as it was supposedly just for boys. You were caled a "tom boy" if your friends found out. I just didn't mention it to any of my friends.; )

  • @LoriCiani I've never got why people of a certain background or sex or whatever are expected to watch certain programmes. I find Only Fools and Horses just as enjoyable and funny and Yes Minister and I don't care who knows, I don't think you have to be middle class or working class to enjoy either. Good for you i'm glad you could enjoy Doctor Who, people forget that one of the most influential people behind Doctor Who was Verity Lambert.

  • AAAAwhh. David Tennant is such a BEAST:D

  • @megadude i'ts jamelia actually

  • David Moffat lol. David is gorgeous

  • i like how David Moffat has been written in the info :p

  • I LOVE DAVID!

  • Of course I'll miss DT, but I'm excited because I think Matt Smith will bring something new to the show and it will be interesting to watch. You can't let an obsession with a [very] hot actor ruin Doctor Who - it's too great a show :( xx

  • true.....i used to watch doctor who it is good and not rly for nerds and all that but to be honest i think david tennant is much more of a doctor who person the new guy is a bit baby faced lol

  • So was Tom Baker and Peter Davidson (especially Peter Davidson) the former who is now the most well-known Doctor of all time and the latter who is the inspiration for modern Who-writers - give the man a chance, he's only a YEAR (uno) younger than Peter Davidson was when he started in the role

  • What's the music? Sounds like a remix or a rip off of 'I Don't Care' by Fall Out Boy...

  • @UltimaPowers sounds a lot like 'Personal Jesus', not sure whose version it is though.

  • @allaboutthejazz It's Beware of the dog by Jamelia, she uses the music from Personal Jesus but it isn't actually Personal Jesus.

  • are you serious? 1, its obviously tainted love (originally by depeche mode) but re-made badly by rihanna

  • DT is a true star and gentleman.

  • That was a lovely interview :)

  • david moffat- now that's an interesting idea.

  • It has been said that Doctor Who is the hardest programme to write - David Moffat reveals why. Amazing clip from the BBC series

    DAVID MOFFAT???? WTF????

  • i loved the way the doctor said. its not fair!. in the final episdode with him and i liked the reason why he died it shows he is selfless like he is meant to be but still it could have been a little better

  • lol white balance and aperture where abit off for the outside shots :P. did someone forget to flick the sunglasses on ^^

  • Me and my dad love stephen moffat becos my fave episodes is Blink and the Gasmask episode in the christopher eccleston series :D

  • Difficulty with writing dr who in my opinion is there aren't enough limitations. The Dr can always get out of trouble with some science-fiction mumbo-jumbo, we all know it, so to create real suspense is tricky. Sometimes I felt Russell T Davies used the get-out-of-jail-with-magic-science-trick card a bit too often.

  • @bexter2001

Na its not hard. Its quite simple actually. This is how i think they do it.

They start with the problem first and go backwards to solve the problem and twist it around a little.

I have a feeling you wont get what I just said there but oh well its worth a try. =/

  • Exactly. You wont have them making the scences exactly how you see on tv. Its the magic of editing... :P

  • That and the dues ex machina obsession of his

  • @bexter2001 Yeah. My friend likes to count the times when a "magic reset button" is used (everything goes back to the way it was through something pulled out at the last minute, like going back in time a year at the end of season 3). I think he found 3 major examples in the End of Time alone. Still, there are some real gems of scriptwriting in the Who mix, and I have hopes for Mr Moffat.

  • Planet of The Spiders haha nice.

Thats one of my favourite episodes.

weee are the eight legged onesss LOL

  • Too short and the volume was all over the place. Otherwise meh.

  • -The Twilight Zone. I reckon that's another EPIC example in the Doctor Who-ish genre xxx

LOVE DAVID TENNANT. omy i miss him sooo much :(

  • does david have a stone temple pilot shirt on

  • I love the last comment from Moffat about how to write Who... you have to introduce a whole world and characters within two minutes, then dispose of everything by the end. It's true... look at 42, there's a perfect Who story. Or Midnight...everything is introduced, then disposed of, but the story remains in your head despite the brevity of the story telling. It's a great series.

  • Already miss David, wish he come back ,even if it is as that doctor that is with Rose

  • love david tennant!!!!

  • I watch it yep:)

  • DAAAAVVVIIIIDDD!

  • TENNANT!!

  • I love David he wishes to be the 12th doctor i hope he is :) x

  • Did you watch doctor who? David Tennant has been the docotor spaz

  • Get over him already

  • Justin Timberlake

  • Is that ozzy osbourne singing at beginning?

  • tis jamelia :)

  • @greengriffo Gah, huge mistake then rofl.

  • hells yeah :D

    x

  • I smell a sitcom!

  • i do love david tennant, but i mean i dont hate him for leaving! god, no!

    lol

  • They have like exactly the same accent :D

  • Oh David... <3

  • Just seeing this has me even more excited for Moff's first season. He's like a Scottish Wizard of Oz - absolutely brilliant, mysterious and fantastic.

  • Nice to see some of the people who work behind the scenes :) LOVE DAVID TENNANT

  • Stop the hating, its tedious now. David CHOSE to leave before he got tired/bored like a job. Give Matt a chance before dissing him.

  • @stlush123123456

How can you hate Matt when you have only seen like 1 minute of him, sorry to say this but some people just need to grow up. Give him a chance, yeah?
