I got this album (an original copy) about 10 years ago in a collection I bought I didnt know who or what it was but when I got to play it, it blew me away, been a beefheart lover ever since I am very sad by the loss of this great man R.I.P Don love you always hope you are at peace xx

The Captain's a truly extra ordinary talent if you also want to appreciate more then also check out Don Van Vliet art works which are superb - Also a very good 1hr special done by John Peel on his music and art - available on the net. - personally I love Safe as Milk.

Oh man! This takes me back so far! Had the great good fortune to see the Magic Band at least twice; once at Bickershaw Music Festival just outside Wigan in Yorkshire... in 1971! (The other time was in Cambridge Uni, I think)

This guy's lyrics are ofen wierd and wonderful, but they are just so DEEP sometimes! Swamp-rock at its best. All-time favorite track would have to be 'Big-Eyed Beans From Venus" (Oh my! Oh my!)

Nice to know the Captain's still producing music; Go Don Van Vliet!
