I love this song! I am not really even a christian...well, I'm really confused what I am...Whenever I listen to songs like this, I am humbled and brought to tears and I really want to believe...blah, why is life so complicated?

@Jazzyodyssey I think I do. I have come to a point in my life where I know in my heart that I need God, even when I don't want to admit it. I have always thought I could do everything on my own..but my life circumstances have shown otherwise... I am turning 21 soon, and I think that instead of getting drunk on alcohol, I will choose to get drunk on Jesus. Thanks for your prayers, they mean a lot to me!

However Jesus would not allow me to stay there for long, for He was willing to adopt me into His lovely kingdom, and I am so thankful for that. He did whatever, whatever it took to get me! This is MY song :) A painful experience taught me that sometimes God will permit suffering in our lives, to teach us or to get our attention. If His still small voice has been ignored, sometimes he allows a proverbial housebrick to fall on our heads or circumstances we don't think are fair to teach us, BUT always caring and being in complete control of the situation. I was gobsmacked when it finally occurred to me that He will do WHATEVER it takes, even if it seems harsh at the time.

Great question lizazoon. Have you heard how God said "If you sin you will surely die?" don't stop there. Adam representing the human race sinned causing all of us to be born sinful and be under God's proclaimation "You will surely die" Here is where the "He will do whatever it takes" comes in. He loved you so much instead of punishing us for our sins, He came out of heaven as Christ, lived a perfect human life, and was sacrificed on the cross to satisfy "You shall surely die" God in your place!

Why? God does whatever he desires in His creation (this earth and us) Jesus said. "You will always have the poor among you" He says. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." The truth is we will have trials, tribulations, and things we don't understand here on earth. You obviously have a loving and caring heart that desires a place of peace & ultimate good. There is that place - not on earth but in heaven with God. Christ is your only way there. Trust Him

@chiefspackers I think my perception of god is quite realistic. God is always ready to punish. To show his power in a negative way, disastres, draughts, floods,earthquakes,tsunamis, but never in a loving way. Did it ever rain mana from heaven on the starving people of Ethiopie ?. Did they ever get enough rain south of the Sahara ? I am very skeptic about a god like that.

Ever occur to you that He created a perfect world and by bringing sin and evil into it, we humans have brought all the bad stuff on ourselves? We were warned, after all. In Genesis, look it up. :)

this is the first time I have heard this song I wasnt even lookin for this song but I'm glad i found it. Your comment spoke to my heart cuz im facing those trails rite now. You know when your not realy sure if God's listening or if he even cares. But even though we lose faith we can still trust in his Saving Grace. I think that it is amazingly awesome to see how much God cares even when we don't really deserve it all. But I guess thats why he's God.

@salmki - This song, of all the songs I listened to in what i call my "previous christian walk", has the truest meaning and truest insight in to God's heart of a lot of songs out there. God isn't looking for our praise, because He is not self serving. And He doesnt want anything from us. He just wants to love us. Thats why He "he reaches farther than your worst mistake". There is no end to His love for us. When does it end? Never.
