  • WWWWWWWWWWWHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

    POOR SMART!! :'(

  • You can make a car as safe as possible, but nothing can't protect you from the g-forces at a sudden stop. When you're on the road your at risk, so its a gamble to make. But when you lose i sure hope you're not in a Smart.

  • Only people with a death wish will drive this car

  • It is a kasket for death

  • I WOULD HATE TO GET HURT OR KILLED JUST TO SAVE A FEW GALLONS

  • @djtreu Exactly what I was thinking.

  • Um... is it safer than say, a motorcycle? I see a shitload of those on the freeways... And sure, driving a tank is safer than not driving a tank, if you're getting hit by a tank. No shit. But the Smart is as safe as any other small vehicle, if not safer. Hell I used to drive a ford festiva, and that thing is practically a riding lawnmower.

  • Smart does not mean Safe.

  • What everyone needs to consider is: what are the chances of driving straight into a wall, AND what are the chances of of driving into an Ford F-350, or a semi. driving into one of those are gonna be worse than a wall, and since when is there a wall in the middle of a road?

  • @chippewa1994 tall island, tunel side-walls, drive thourgh, meddin / tall highway meddin, signs, billboards, constuction items, road blocks, i'm mean if you think about it theres all sorts of stuff out there on the road-way or on the side of the road-way that you could run into, that are similar to a wall

  • @chippewa1994 Well if someone or something jumps in front of your car (like a child) you're probably going to swerve to avoid hitting them, and probably crash into a power pole or a parked car. So crashing into a heavy stationary object at or near full speed isn't so far fetched.

  • Less LARDGE CAR ON THE ROAD=MORE SAFE!

  • I see Cash for Car Store has one of these for sale. Does anyone else own one and have an opinion post acident about how safe it felt?

  • smart vs smart crash would result in even more stress on passenger's body due to frame stiffness of the smart. The only thing that would sustain less damage would be the car itself. They would decelerate even more violently.

  • 1:23

"the smart did a good job" ?? even dummy died in there! please do not put profit in front of safety.... call it small, sweet, cool to park and easy to drive... but please dont call it safe, because its imposible.

  • People are stupid why the fuck would you buy that shit buy american fuck Kia Honda tyota fuck forign buy chevy or ford or general motors all forign cars like Kia may say built in America but were does the profit go to not the USA

  • Looks like it belongs in a Mouse Trap game set.

  • they should call it the ''DUMB CAR''

  • I have never been impressed with the performance of this car. Yaris,Corolla, Fit...they all out perform this car with similar prices and gas milage. The only benefit of this car is if you live in a crowded city where parking is difficult. Otherwise they need to drop the price, improve gas milage, or make it the size of other compacts. Otherwise it is worthless.

  • Wow it did better then the hummer

  • and although the dummy's head hit the steering wheel hard, we think it does a good job in protecting its occupants....lol

  • Ill take my GMC Sierra being that 4 out of 5 vehicles on the road in my state are SUV''s and trucks.

  • Wait iam ok ibroke the fall with my face

  • Then u should TEST this car with big and even BIGGER cars to show results and I you are going to compare to the Toyota Prius maybe you should show us comparison crashes and result tests... Duh!

  • Yeah sorry but this car is FAR from "smart". I mean, really. If you don't want to use a lot of gas, buy a Tesla. This car is a coffin on wheels. With cars like the Tesla, I don't see why anyone would want this car if you're just trying to save on gas/not use gas/etc. This is one of the ugliest cars in history, and there's other cars that are all electric and not to mention.. a lot of the other cars will make sure that, y'know.. you don't die if you get in an accident.

  • In other words, you'd die by any accident in your stupid Smart

  • Fiat 500..four seats more stylish cheaper to buy and more economical....smart ?? not so smart

  • Ill just wear a vivid jacket and then I wont be in a car crash. =D

  • "Although the dummies' head did strike the steering wheel hard, we think it does a good job at protecting the occupants in this type of crash".

  • someone recently crashed a ford ka and it was screwed

  • that silverado at the beginning is safer

  • car just fly away

  • this car isn't safe......

  • GOOD LUCK IN THE THIS CAR BUY A LARGER CAR I DIVE A 2004 DODGE INTREPID ITS ON A SMALL CAR AND NOT BIG ONE I GET 32 MPH HIGWAY COST ME $3200 BUCKS

  • i need this smart car

  • i want to buy this car

  • you will be fucked

  • Sell

    Me

    A

    Real

    Toy

  • yes, it is good for its size

BUT SCREW THAT! get a sedan and youll be better off!

  • @youspic it is safer than many cars from bigger classes. When you see how many old cars are driving around, the Smart is safer than they are

  • not to sound like a crazy redneck but this is america, not europe. im not going to try to squeeze myself in that tiny, stoopid looking car just because its supposed to get better mpg. i think ill just stick with my suv's and pickup trucks.

  • If people didn't drive the monstrosities that are available today, this thing would be hella safe. Those "safe" SUVs that parents buy to protect their kids are incredibly selfish and endangering others' safety.

  • @carlvitullo Not that many people buy SUV's lately.

Frankly, nobody stops you to endanger your kids to protect other drivers.

  • What a fucking joke! Look at that thing!

  • How about a truck.

  • Yuck...Give me my batteship Crown Victoria anyday over this joke!

  • You get nothing but laughter when you this car. They are f*cking absolutely retarded.

  • My friends father died in smart the other day. Mercedes E class crashed into him...Yes the car resisted the impact but he died from internal injuries. This car IS NOT safe. If you own it - please drive in city ONLY and dont do more than 40 mph or 60 kmh. But then again...if someone crashes into you...your body will absorb almost whole impact because of nonexistent crumple zone. If you're butthurted smart owner/lover - please bug people around you and dont bother with angry replies.

  • @zemixerus its a frontal test vs a wall not vs an other car moving, so smart = light, its why its safe when u compare this car to a 4x4

  • @zemixerus No fans, this car is genuinley shit. Whoever designed this must have been a IKEA designer on lsd.

  • @Thewickedjunglist but he makes fun, endless fun. Thats the differend to other, "normaly" cars. I am driving 10 years smart and i need this feeling every day ;-)

  • @48Mesh And parking would be no issue...just plop it in a backpack or a pocket or smth :)

  • @zemixerus When you're in a Smart car, YOU are the crumple zone. They are so unsafe.

  • @Gerbilinator no not really. The tridon safety cell makes it as safe and sometimes safer than many (by far not all) bigger cars, family vans and so on

  • @zemixerus Are they any good for a first car?? sorry to hear the news

  • @morrisabillion

No, every major car manufacturer have a small, economic car in their offer. Most of them are cheaper to buy, faster, safer,(HAVE a crumple zone) have four seats, the engine last longer, their corner better, and have basically the same fuel economy. (maybe slightly higher) I dont know why anyone would want to buy a smart.

  • @zemixerus Ive found a nice four seater one on ebay for a good price so i was just wondering??

  • @zemixerus The only reason why his father died is because of the other cars weight in comparison to the smart car. It is the same equivilant of a truck hitting a normal sized car. If everyone drove smart cars and had a crash, barely anyone would die because of the dramaticaly reduced forces occuring due to the decrease in weight

  • @zemixerus Sorry for your lost. :(

  • @zemixerus I am so angry! smart is a safe mode of transport. You know nothing,

  • @tossmonkey1

    Incorrect you will die!

  • That's my problem with this car. As much as I want to embrace the future and be smart about driving, the cons outweigh the pros. The price is still high (~12K for new), it seats only 2, and the gas mileage isn't amazing. I'm more likely to get a Prius as the man said.

  • The windshield didnt even cracked!!!!

  • бедняжка, аж завизжала

  • this car is only for short street driving not for freeway or large streets .

not a safe car i dont care what the guy says.

  • Coffin on wheels

  • @AlexsTechReviewz What are you talking about? This car is safer than the conventional SUV.

  • dat nigguh deaddd

  • The reason why the hit didnt reach the driver cause there is a SAFE CAGE, they are extremely hard but in larger cars they dont protect the engine, but in larger cars if you hit like that engine will slow down the hit so more likely th hit wont reach the cage. PS I drove Smart car, its okay in the city but on highway is scary especially when everybody else driving faster then you.

  • I don't think the Smart will save your life if a cliff is besides the crash barrier...

  • that part with prius was a joke right?

  • @HowkeyLL No Larger cars and heavier protect better

  • @poisonarrow8 with protection yes, but with economy, Prius is so economic like most of European vehicles, many European vehicles have better mpg and are much more comfortable. Also much better protection than Prius. Thats why i asked if that with prius was a joke.

  • @HowkeyLL

    get off europes dick

  • @SmilesNFun Sry but i dont have to be European to know that.

  • I own a smart car myself and even though this is a small car it feels really really safe.

Dont knock it unless you have tried it!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Its about as safe and economical as a motorcycle.

Except the motorcycle wouldn't make me look like a pussy

  • i drive fast so this car would kill me in a crash

  • I'll drive a Diesel, thank you.

And for all you hippies: Diesel engines output less emissions than a Gasoline engine, not to mention that black Diesel fumes are less dangerous for the environment than Gasoline.

  • safe my ass. if i hit that with my truck you'd die. if i hit it with a PRIUS you'd die.

  • its a coffin on 4 wheels :/

  • Miudd

  • Pffft, This toy cant stand my farts alone.

  • FUCK the Prius.. get a diesel instead....

  • Thanks for making the video. I've been wondering about this.

  • you dont want this car. hit a SUV or something head on your fucked.

  • this car made it this test cause of it´s small weight.... but in real life how often do you see car crashing in to a wall or with an other car that weights more than 1500kg? example if big 18wheelie takes part of this test it will propably loose? cause in real situation it´s weight that matters along the structure. but the 18wheelie don´t hit the wall but the other car and which one do wanna be in? small car´s are bigger car´s airbags and i rather be in bigger car. think? which 1 you wanna be in

  • "The dummy's head did strike the steering wheel pretty hard, but whatever."

  • @anon6941 lol that was my favorite part

  • I dont care i would never buy this so called "car"... piece of shit for faggots and girls who cant drive a real car.

  • @TheDM75 Couldn't have said it any better. It's not a car at all.

  • geil bin ein luder

  • not risking it in a car that gets less milege than a civic

  • if you wanna die . buy a smart car

  • Comment removed

  • The test came out acceptable because the car was no weight behind it to crush the car into itself, But what they dont test is if the car impacts in front and another car came up behind in a "sandwich" scenario...now your the oreo cookie filling. Also, they dont want to tell you how this car will roll 30 times if it slid into sideways at a normal highway speed like 55mph. DEATH TRAP!

  • @rickgarciaflorida when I see the crash test results of a Smart Fortwo and like e.g. a Pontiac Trans Sport, a much bigger car, I would still feel much safer in the Smart, no matter if I go at the recommended speed of 80 mph or faster. The ONLY reason why I don't drive a Smart is that I have a lot material to transport from university to the airport and back, from event to event and so on. Otherwise I would prefer the Smart

  • Good test? Fuck you this is a fucking suicidal shit

  • And with that, I mean killing the driver I'm crashing at.

  • I don't want a large car, I don't want to buy a killer like that.

  • SMART CAR IN CRASH = CERTAIN DEATH!

  • long story short. If you get into an accident you die

  • melhor que os carros brasileiros

  • i wana see it hit a wall at 70mph

  • @caseihrules16 Given a smart car can even hit that kind of speed? ha

  • Smart Fortwo? More like Death ForYOU

  • save the planet buy a Smart !!

  • in the real world

after the collision the car dived into trafic in the other carridgeway, so now the cage is bent , I wonder how it would stand up to another high speed wack ?

  • it's like putting a midget up against kimbo slice. this car would get tanked through in a real-life head-on crash at 50mph, combined speed of 100+mph.

  • Yeah you'd be dead in one of these. I'll stick to old V8 sedans!

  • @mhtube01 dumbass.

  • @elmalloc You're the dumbass who obviously doesn't care about your own personal safety if you like these "cars." They aren't cars at all, they're practically toys. An old full size sedan, or any one on the market today even would shatter this POS to pieces in a accident. Hell, my current car is a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser and that would wreck one of these!! Those who care about safety and real cars aren't stupid for hating these, the people who actually waste their money on one are!

  • @mhtube01 in fact the Smart is often as safe, sometimes even safer (!) than cars from higher classes. Sounds stupid but it really is like that. A lot of active and passive safety systems. Friend of mine had an Chevrolet HHR - and sold it after 2 months cause he didn't feel safe at all in it. Instead he bought a Smart forfour.

  • @EnjoyFirefighting Sorry but I don't buy that at all. I sat in one of these at a car show and have never felt so unsafe in a "car" before. My Chrysler PT Cruiser is a competitor of the Chevy HHR and although it's a small car, it's huge compared to this thing. Hell I'd pick a MINI Cooper or VW Beetle over these anyday because they're bigger. Big cars have a lot more front end to protect the passengers than small cars though. The whole front end can crush on some without the windshield cracking.

  • @mhtube01 even as there a bigger crumple zone at big cars, it doesn't help much when the compartment folds like a can. Just look for the crashtests of e.g. the Pontiac Trans Sport, Chevrolet Astro or for side impact the 2006 Chrysler 300. When the compartment crumples that much, it can get difficult for Fire/Rescue services to open it and get you out

  • i think my bicycle does a better job of protecting me in a crash

  • harder than i though

  • This car is a deathtrap, in the side impact test the crash car hit the dummy in the head, now imagine that as a big truck or suv

    dead driver

  • @microsoft11221 I think most cars (and their passengers) wouldn't look very good when they are hit by a truck sideways ^^

  • I hate smart! greets from germany

  • bounce off the barrier and get killed by a truck on the other side

  • is it me, or did a piece of the dummy's face come off on the steering wheel at 0:52 ?

  • @RoboTussen no they'er imprint mark that the head leaves so they can see where the head hit

  • @Jammanio Oh ok that makes sense lol

  • @RoboTussen lol i thought so too until i saw it on all other tests

  • Smack it with a semi

  • @hundanth that happened, it was a head on collision with a semi, the smarts body was riped right off the chasies

  • *Beep*

Onstar: This is Onstar emergency, what is your emergency?

You: Yeah, I just got in an accident and my asshole is touching the back of my head.

Onstar: You're in a Smart Fortwo aren't you?

    You: Yeah.

  • na wie geil hab 3 brüste

  • the smart car was given a 3 star rating by the NHSTA meaning the car has a 21-35 percent chance of injury. In almost all test in speeds of 70+ there was a fatal crash test rating. So take it to the golf course or up the street but please stay off the highway

  • I think i stay with my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but I definitely want to drive that car they used for the side impact, there was no damage on that thing at all.

  • @acidfire68594 basic physics and the concept of crumple zones haven't come through to your neck of the woods right?

  • @MSEuropa crumple zones don't work on a car that can barely fit 2 people in it.

  • @acidfire68594 the structure surrounding the tridon safety cell designed to crush and quickly absorb impact energyis. Cause of the short wheelbase the suspension collapses and is absorbing the impact and reducing forces on the passenger compartment. And then of course there are also tensioning devices and belt force limiter. And after all that passive safety there are also the active safety systems...

  • well for a car this size it did pretty good.... but i would not want to get in a wreck with one..

  • Stop* not ATP

  • Wow that has a strong front. If only all cars wre like that. Oh no that is bad because you stop harder instead of slowing down slower. That is a sudden atop

  • a what ? a prius ? i'd rather walk ...

  • Well, at least I'll be fine if I hit a Mustang. Not so much for the Mustang, though.

  • I wonder what do they do with the cars they destroy ?

  • This car appears to be a deathtrap. I'm sorry, but i'd rather spend more money on fuel than be unsafe.

  • look like my little brother crashing his rc car lol

  • it wasnt that bad.......

  • then you have no business riding a motorcycle. personally, i try to avoid such obstacles as concrete walls when i'm riding one.

  • Man my wife had a smart, now i have no wife.

  • @GiratinaOriginAwakes I'm sorry to hear.

  • shiit this is a death trap car... how can they say although the dummy hit its head hard on the stiring wheel? ppl can die really quick like that!

  • scoot the fucking seat up dumbass you are supposed to be between 10 to 14 inches away from the steering wheel not 2 feet

  • Everyone talks so much shit about how some cars aren't safe in crashes. I ride a motorcycle for transportation and even a Smart Car looks pretty damn good compared to hitting that wall with your face. Just a thought...

  • @MotardJunkie Soooo true mate.

  • gay

  • 30mph imagine ???? lets see against a truck going 60mph hit a smart car that car aint safe its a death trap.

  • The Germans used their engineering skills, and hard work to develop the Smart Fortwo.

The Chinese used their lazy, copying technique to develop the Stupidity ForChink.

  • Not enough car to absorb all that energy. all that he said yet it still does a good job! Shiiiiittt I'd rather fall from a 5 story building in the planking postion.

  • i would take a 91 crx hf over this car anytime, the crx is faster, has better fuel economy, more leg room, more room in the trunk, and most likely safer

  • lol at 2:04

  • Cool! Best small car on the world! :)

  • @ivanfink1 --Wow!!!! Are you on drugs son??????? Forget the fact that you will be killed in a crash, but geeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz what fools those who drive this crap look like!!--Yea--MORONS--Sorry, real men do not drive clown cars--Smart, Prius, Yaris, Fit, Cube, I'm done.................

  • @heybiglinus Yeah, you are right buddy! But, hi looks really cute! :)

  • This small car would protect you a lot better than the 97-03 F150 would.

  • How many people saw this and have been wondering what it would be like the whole time?????

  • If you think for one second these cars are as safe as a regular sized car, you are an idiot.

  • yeah..........no....

  • Any accident would result in a total loss

  • WARNING PLEASE REPEAT... I believe that these tests must be conducted many many times, so none of these vehicles get actually on the road...

  • "Altho the dummies head hit the stearing wheel hard" we think it did a good job -.-

  • @Ashenfly, loloolollollololololololol!!!!

  • ok, now what happens when you have a hybusa engine in it and your doin 140

  • what if a fully loaded semi truck rear ends on that car? O_O
