I was Christian at one time in my, life. That is what Christians believe, as I once did. The point I was making to the other person I was talking to was that if that was true then heaven was not a place I really want to go.
It is simply a question of do I believe and hate god for what he has done to me or not believe and realize it is how the world works. Mostly I am tired of other Christians that kept telling me that the god I believed in does not exist.
The god I use to believe in. He was a loving father figure, a creator. Not someone who would condemn you for making a mistake to an eternity of burning in hell. Not someone who would only let you in because you believe in his son and for no other reason (as is what is believed today). He wanted us to love him, but not so much the bible. The bible itself is a false idol, more people worship it then him.
A god that does not condemn people for being what he made them (like gay). The bible was written by man, and knowing man as I do, am pretty sure there is a fair amount of things in the bible that is not the word of god.
I have a genetic illness (celiac disease). Have had it sense birth. It causes a lot of pain and discomfort, migraines, neck pain, joint pain, etc. It can kill you if it is bad enough. When I was diagnosed 39 years ago little was know about it. They thought you could outgrow it. Not so, I relapsed about six years ago, tried to drop dead.
It was pretty bad there for a while. I could not stay awake for more than a few hours. I started having black outs, on night on the way home I had a black out and rolled my truck and jumped it across a drive way. That was the night I learned to always wear my seat belt. There was a dent in the roof were I hit it with my head and I used my face to beat the steering wheel down around the steering column.
I have been slowly recovering but it has been 4 years now. I use to have so much pain that I could not get out of bed very easily every morning. Going to work itself was a crippling experience. Before I started wearing leg braces to work, I would come home at night and sit in my chair, then have to be helped up so I could go to bed (because I could not get up on my own).
The day I realized there is no god was the day I asked for his help. I asked him to cure me or to kill me. He did neither. Everyone says if you pray and believe hard enough he will help you. Not true.
Maybe he did help you and you don't know. God is a good father, if you had a child and they asked to go run in the street, because they thought it was a good idea, would you let them? No, because they would get hurt! Perhaps there is a reason he did not heal you.
Do you realize that is why people do not believe in god. It is easy to say he had a reason for this or he did not do this because it is better for you. The truth is you have no idea and are just telling me things to support your own belief in god. I love how people talk about being healed by god and later you find out a doctor healed them.
Imagine having most of the things you enjoy doing striped away from you. I use to like to lift weights. I have trouble doing that now because over exertion makes me ill. I had to take four years off because I would be sick for days after an hour of lifting.
See that is one of those things. The pain I feel is made worse by doing physical jobs. I was doing a extremely physical job there for a while. It got to be a habit that I would come home from work and have to have two or three drinks to be able to lay down and go to sleep.
Ya I hate taking prescription drug, of course they usually make me sick. Most drugs in pill form have wheat in them. I am not the type of person that usually turns to those kind of solutions. I do not believe in taking illegal drugs, and I am not the type of person to take myself out. But there for a long time I was pretty sure if there was a god he wanted me dead.

I am glad you wrote. God was one of priorities at one time in my life, so was weight lifting. I fell that he took that away from me as well as a lot of other things. I am lifting again. But I have pretty much decided I do not believe. Plus I do not care much for a lot of organized religions and there policies.
You compare being healed to playing in traffic, that makes no sense at all. God loves me so he feels I am better off being tortured, that makes sense. How would I get hurt by being healed? You are making little sense. I am sure you have some reason that you choose to believe, but I choose not to after everything I have been through.

What I ment by the analogy was that God is the father, and he has something planned for you. He will not let you do things that will mess up your life. Maybe your sick for a reason.
I cannot think of a reason other than someone likes to torture me. I have been really sick for the past couple of days. Try having the flu for two years, everyday. I cannot think of a good reason anyone would do that to another person.

I have had a very challenging life so far, and no I am not going to preach my life story to everyone, but just so you know, because of God there is hope for my life now, I am able to see what He has done in my life. You guys all seem to be wanting something big to happen, but you all seem to be missing the small things that are a joy to your life, and thats one thing I am sure everyone can agree on, the fact that there is something else that fuels the world.

Does this movement not seem a little to aggressive for the christian doctrine? as the lady says in the video war is wrong, and in several places this movement was considered building an army wich has the purpose of fighting a war. This whole ATF thing is so out of context, christians should preach peace not revolution. The problem i have with battlecry is their anti-gay marriage message is inherantly flawed. They want to impose their religious convictions on other people who may not share their beliefs.
You can't legislate religious views. Why? because not eveybody shares the same religious views. why would you impose your faith on other people? You wanna say gay marriage is wrong...fine, but you can't just say that the bible syas it's wrong because not everbody follows the bible.

The god I use to believe in. He was a loving father figure, a creator. Not someone who would condemn you for making a mistake to an eternity of burning in hell. Not someone who would only let you in because you believe in his son and for no other reason (as is what is believed today). He wanted us to love him, but not so much the bible. The bible itself is a false idol, more people worship it then him.

I have a genetic illness (celiac disease). Have had it sense birth. It causes a lot of pain and discomfort, migraines, neck pain, joint pain, etc. It can kill you if it is bad enough. When I was diagnosed 39 years ago little was know about it. They thought you could outgrow it. Not so, I relapsed about six years ago, tried to drop dead.

It was pretty bad there for a while. I could not stay awake for more than a few hours. I started having black outs, on night on the way home I had a black out and rolled my truck and jumped it across a drive way. That was the night I learned to always wear my seat belt. There was a dent in the roof were I hit it with my head and I used my face to beat the steering wheel down around the steering column.

I have been slowly recovering but it has been 4 years now. I use to have so much pain that I could not get out of bed very easily every morning. Going to work itself was a crippling experience. Before I started wearing leg braces to work, I would come home at night and sit in my chair, then have to be helped up so I could go to bed (because I could not get up on my own).

See that is one of those things. The pain I feel is made worse by doing physical jobs. I was doing a extremely physical job there for a while. It got to be a habit that I would come home from work and have to have two or three drinks to be able to lay down and go to sleep.

Ya I hate taking prescription drug, of course they usually make me sick. Most drugs in pill form have wheat in them. I am not the type of person that usually turns to those kind of solutions. I do not believe in taking illegal drugs, and I am not the type of person to take myself out. But there for a long time I was pretty sure if there was a god he wanted me dead.

I am glad you wrote. God was one of priorities at one time in my life, so was weight lifting. I fell that he took that away from me as well as a lot of other things. I am lifting again. But I have pretty much decided I do not believe. Plus I do not care much for a lot of organized religions and there policies.

Oh, I know everyone isn't hateful! Thank goodness, that would be horrible. Some people are more loving than me, I admit that. It's not our religion that does wonderful things, it's our God.

I have asked my questions before to believers and not got answers, and I have not found answers in the bible. It is nice you get something out of it, but it does not work that way for everyone.

So why does god create illness? Why does he cause people pain and suffering? I have a genetic illness sense birth. It causes me a lot of joint pain, migraines, and some days even makes it impossible to get out of bed. Why did your god do that?

God creates illness because it is in his plan. There could be so many reasons. Maybe you'll help someone with the same disease, maybe you'll meet someone because of it. Oh, the beautiful things that could come form your pain. he doesn't cause 'pain', he is a kind of father, he lets us learn as well as protects us. I do know how you feel about sickness, my sister died of an illness.

No, that's a good question. God didn't create sickness, but he allows it. We live in satan's world, so we have sickness. I don't know everything though, maybe you should ask Him. I'm serious, He can answer you better than me.

According to most the experts, Satan cannot create anything, god created everything. I was a Christian for about 15 years so I have heard most of this stuff before. What bothers me most is getting 20 different answers to the same question. I fell that people are just making things up to make you fell better plainjanekiwi.

I don't know, something could comeout of it. It's hard to explain, but it's true. I know being sick is hard, but my sisters illness taught me there was a God, only a loving God I'd always heard about would take her home.

I see your point, and its good to question things. The deeds that you have done(like following God etc) will count for something tohugh. You get rewarded in heaven for the things you did on earth.

No, that's alright. I can understand why your angry. I guess you'd, in a way, learn to forgive him. Maybe someday, you could look back and see why, because it's hard to understand now. It's noraml to be angry at him, I even get angry at him, because I don't get it. It's all about trust. All I know is, he loves you so much, and he's letting this happen for something amazing.
